CLASSIC Bela Lugosi in his 1931 performance as Count Dracula. I used to watch this as a kid on our black & white television. Bela will forever remain my favorite Dracula. Thank you for uploading this - Bela Lugosi shall not be forgotten.
What I love about Lugosi’s performance in the original 1931 film was that his speech patterns and physical mannerisms come off as an imitation of life, but just askew enough to detect that he’s just a dead thing pretending to be alive. When Lugosi first stepped on American soil, it was here in New Orleans, adding to a city rich in vampire lore thanks to the novels of Anne Rice, Poppy Z. Brite and others.
I read where Lugosi first set foot in New York City, before going to Hollywood. I also read the widow of Brahm Stoker only would allow Lugosi to portray Dracula - no one else. She was very adamant about that. She had once seen Lugosi portray Jesus in a play, and admired his acting ability tremendously!

One of my favourites ❤ i watch it at least once a year
I've never seen this original old version and it's seems somewhat similar to the early nineties version of the movie.
More like, the 90’s version are similar to the -originals-, buddy.. 👍
“I am Dracula blah blah blah!”
