    Neat bone scales, and I like T10 steel. I put a patina on my T10 RR using ketchup, turned out great. Thanks TK!

      I'm liking it as a carry thusfar. It made quick work of an apple earlier today, but I cleaned it out of habit so no patina. Thanks, DD.

    I do like the half hawk pattern. Mine is the classic carbon II. I'm waiting for the large slip to come back in stock. I will get one to carry my half hawk in then. Great job !

      I agree, I like the pattern. Attractive bone, just with the dye wasn't an issue. Seems a turnoff for those that don't want the hassle.

    Just got that one! Mine seems good, great pull, no gaps, no color loss so far. It’s a damn handsome knife. But I got a turtle bow trapper at the same time, and it’s just so great in hand, the poor cinnamon isn’t getting any pocket time. Totally unfair.

    Great in depth look at this piece TK! I have a two blade Half Hawk from the coal miner series and although I’m not necessarily a Rough Rider collector, I do love that knife so this one is definitely on the get list! So just an observation I had, but looks to me like they’re using that black gunk to fill in the lines left by the cnc machine when the “stag” pattern is cut. It’s a good idea as I’ve always hated that you could so easily see those tooling marks on an otherwise nice looking imitation stag handle but they certainly need to find a material that won’t rub off so easily.

    Ooooh close to an RJ haha. Pretty nice work knives and this one has a great fit and finish. I wonder why these go over here for over 40 bucks, while the others go for about 20 bucks. Only the cinnamon bone stag jumps up that much like the RR reserve line cheapest items. After cleaning, the black stayed pretty much at a level that;s acceptable. Thank you TK.

    • @ThriftyKaniffy
      @ThriftyKaniffy  Год назад +1

      Soak the slip in water. Wrap the knife tightly in cellophane, place in slip. Rub the leather down around the perimeter with your fingers to form the shape. Let it dry, (I place mine over a desk lamp). Once dry, apply several applications of your favorite conditioner.

    Can the knife community get behind the idea that the boxes don’t have to be so huge? I have working knives, and I collect. As a collector I like to keep the original box. I’m going to have to build an out building to store the boxes. Can influencers make a video about this? How does the collector community feel about this?

    • @ThriftyKaniffy
      @ThriftyKaniffy  9 месяцев назад +1

      I think many of us support that idea. Look at Rosecraft's box I think that is an ideal style of box.

    • @Argonaut80
      @Argonaut80 9 месяцев назад

      I definitely agree with that. The Rosecraft boxes are probably half the size of the RR boxes, and aren’t too big.
