Hello! I was wondering if you still had the plans you used to design the boat. I would like to make a stone-carved model of the dragon but I can't find any useful plans. Thanks for your help!
Hi Hanno, beautiful work! I am currently working on a proposal for a pier in Starnberg, a little town at the lake Starnberg in Bavaria. I would like to use a Dragon class for my renderings since this is a common and the most beautiful boat in our area. Could I use your model in a reduced version for my renderings of the pier? That would be awesome. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon. S.
Hanno, I have been looking for a CAD Dragon for months and you have done it! Beautiful. Looks like we need bulk heads and a few other things to make it into RC, which I would love to do... 2 meters. I would also like to do some re-design, such as a canting keel (I know, not a real Dragon). Would you be interested in selling your file or having used in a open source project for RC and Dragon Boat design? Very interested in working with you. Look forward to hearing from you.
Hanno / William - I am a (retired) Dragon sailor and am pursuing a sophisticated 1:6 scale RC Dragon as well. I have a few videos on RUclips: search for "steve alvey dragon". I have the Class Rules and drawings/plans/offset tables and was about to teach myself to do what you have already accomplished. I'm VERY eager to collaborate with either of you. William - are you a Dragon sailor?
Hi Bas, making a tutorial is quite something different ... I cannot promise to make one immediately but maybe showing the essential choices could be done ...
Hi Hanno you forgot to draw the boom kicker like what is on a real Dragon. I would not send this file for free, you have already provided a scaled top, side and front view. Tell us how many hours it took to draw this beautiful Dragon. thank you.
Hi Ben, the model is still mainly for 3D presentation, but I presume that with some extra work it could be milled, at least the hull. As I remember there are no surface anomalies or gaps in the hullmodel.
hoi, mooi werk. Kun je een tutorial maken oid? Ik ben zelf net begonnen met een dergelijke animatie van een van de stadt Norman. Ben benieuwd hoe je dit hebt aangepakt...
Wow amazing. Great details.
How long did it take to complete?
I am planning on using the plans from the billings boats kit to construct a 3d model.
Thank you for this nice presentation

The drawing is very successful.😊 I'll try modelling sailing yacht hull. Where can i find necessary line planning.

The tiller bar does not seem to make a linear connection to the rudder
Hi Hanno, a very nice model. Would you give me the boat hull I would like to make a 3d print of it.
Regards Kay
So, can you plug this into a CNC mill and make a model? I really mean 'how can I...?'
