A lot of people don't understand college is great if your heart is in it, but if it isn't its just a big waste of time and money. I have told all of my kids, follow your dreams and you will never feel like you are working. I see so many people who are already dead inside and are playing catch up to the grave, they are unhappy, unmotivated and never know what true freedom is. I don't want that for my kids, I want them to know what true freedom is! 💯

Nobody says that wtf. Even if that's true, it's not like it's an indian thing. It happens everywhere.
I hesitate on college and I want parents to understand and respect their kids dreams
Yea, but sometime parents don’t really believe in their dreams. Simply because they think is unrealistic, they think is crazy, they think is silly, and they think they’re not real, and force you to work at 9-5 jobs that you hate, like you better work at McDonalds, grocery store and other 9-5 jobs, then going after you're silly dreams. But I want to say to that, is prove them wrong.
@WWEandThomasfan444 I better see u in wwe
@WWEandThomasfan444 good luck
@WWEandThomasfan444 that’s awesome you however you might want to do both or some form education so you don’t get taken advantage of by promoters like cm punk was by wwe but keep at that dream I hope to see you in wwe or aew
It’s mostly Asian parents who are like this coz they all know life isn’t easy and doesn’t want their kids to fail, but they cannot force you to be a doctor. If you have your own dreams then work hard for it. You can’t say I wanna be an actor then later you never study and obviously fail school. If you don’t work hard for your dream it will never work
“You don’t have time for some silly club. You need to study.”
My aunt is literally a doctor and she would say the exact opposite.
She would support me.
So would my dad.
So would my mum.
There’s no point in forcing because it’ll never work properly.
"Would you mind signing this for me?" "Of course not." got me rollin😂😂
The iconic line of this video that truly defines an Indian is "We are Indians, we don't knock".
That was too over exaggerated as an Indian myself I can confirm

I learned that you choose your dreams. Don't let others play with your dreams, or change who you really are, unless these people show you that these dreams lead the person to trouble (with proof). Thanks again Dhar Mann
There's a logical reason behind everything.
There are thousands of children in India who don't wanna study but they don't have a choice because they are too afraid to fail and if they fail there's nothing in this world for them.
Most parents are too poor to choose a backup option for their kids and so the kids don't get any chance.
The problem is not parent but it's actually poverty which has changed the mindset of many parents.

When family traditions overshadow what is consider a profession! Great stuff here and never give up on your passion and dreams!
As my dad once said, “you can pursue whatever dream you have in life, just don’t get angry when you apply for a degree in underwater basket weaving and don’t get paid six figures for it.”

My dad also said something similar...
LOOOOOL
My dad says "If teenagers do whatever they want then they will ruin their lives, its upto the parents to give them a proper life"

Moral of the story: if you let someone follow their passion the success will always follow
I was ready for a classic "3 zooms" like in the Indian tv shows.
When the mom has a more American accent than the daughter 💀💀💀
It really sounds bad, British or Indian accent could've been much better
I feel like the mother had good intentions, trying to do what she thought was best for her daughter. Usually, desi parents tend to want their children to be one of 2 things: a doctor or engineer; those jobs tend to give a lot of financial stability. Also, some of the stuff mentioned is what parents learned from their parents. Personally, I feel like children should be given the freedom to choose their careers and support + guidance (not interference) from their parents.
NOTE: The above is my opinion as a desi person.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Naina. I appreciate it.
She said Devon hart I think she meant Kevin hart.
I totally agree. Everyone is complaining about how parents should let their kids live their life but that's not their job as parents. Parents are supposed to guide and correct you to the right direction. I find it dumb how everyone says "follow your dreams" dreams don't pay the bills when it comes to it. Go to college and get a stable job. Once your side career kicks up, quit and go full time on the side career. Sometimes, we have to differenciate dreams from reality.
@@adriennejones8622 yes it’s just for no Copyright issues or something

It can't be more relatable (the 'studying' part) . I'm Asian (specifically Indian), and recently me and my sister had our final exams of the last term. Long story short, I got 493/500 (98%) and my sister got 499/500 (99%). My aunt called to congratulate us, and her exact words were 'You both did good, but (to me), you need to work a little more hard'. This personally hurt me. I just wish our parents and relatives appreciated us more working so hard to meet their expectations. 😫
My man that triggered me
I feel the same pain. I can feel the pain while I read this.
Indian kids need to learn how to live on your own. Show them you can do better without your parents and you don't need them. Maybe then their god complex will go down
L aunt.
If that was me, I would've laid that aunt down right there
I understand how parents are like dhar man always said " If you can't accept ur dreams then follow up on your passion "
