Amazing video. I only use real maple syrup and watching this process makes me love it all the more. Have not witnessed syrup production since my childhood. Thanks again!
WOW bro you have a lifetime of maple syrup for pancakes! Next time I go to the supermarket or Whole Foods, I’m gonna remember the entire process how to make maple syrup. God bless you
Perfect example of a channel that you can get really invested into but also fall asleep to. Love how laid back yet informative it is, please never change
I have a HUGE maple tree in my yard but too afraid I'll mess up somehow and not do it right. I've always been fascinated with tapping maple trees since I was a little girl and watching Montour Preserve in PA tap the trees. There's nothing like the smell of maple sap boiling 😋
I remember as a kid (like 12) we went to Vermont and had fresh maple syrup and maple candies, my grandma bought a 5lb bag of the maple candies and that bag lasted for years... now im gonna order some online and relive some memories, RIP gma
Grew up on the black strap syrup. I only search out for the darkest syrup. I can remember in the early eighties my dad paying $7.00 a gal for the black strap. 2 years ago I found a seller that sold me 1.5 gallons for $45.00. The lady sold that dark grade to maple candy companies.
I was about to ask if this is a new video of your maple syrup operation, or if this is just a repost of the same video that was on your other channel. I read the description of the video and received my answer. Love it! Thank you for sharing this with us!
probably not a big deal but i'd probably grab some used food grade buckets (usually free) from the grocery store, walmart, restaurants ect. I have a frosting and pickle bucket I use for fermentation.
@@NewEnglandWildlifeAndMore I got 1 from hannaford for a 1$ and another from the local pizza/sandwich shop for free. I figured walmart would have so many they'd be free or cheap too.
Those burners are great for cast iron wok stir fry too. Great work on getting maple syrup that stuff is so expensive why not make it yourself since you got the trees.
I suppose that I would get used to snow and that it's no big deal in your neck of the woods. Where I live snow is a disaster most of the time and we dread winter precipitation 🍁

Great video, thanks for sharing, I hope you used food grade buckets though, non-food grade buckets can expose you to nasty chemicals and endocrine disruptors that will fu** with your thyroid
So I learned that one can make syrup from almost any maple tree it’s the sugar maples that have the sweetest sap. I have a sunset maple that I have wondered about doing this to for many years.
Growing up, there were a few maple trees on our front lawn. I wanted to try and make syrup when I was a child, but my Grandfather said it was the wrong kind of maple tree. 🤔
On the west coast, there are Bigfoot sightings in the woods. In the deep south, Skunk Ape, and in the New England area, Post10 sightings clearing drains, beaver dams, abandoned structure expeditions, and now, harvesting maple syrup in the woods.
I do not, this was just for fun. It's a very small operation I only come out with a few jars for myself and whatever family might want to come over. I wouldn't risk selling it to anybody, don't want to get blamed if somebody gets sick
@@NewEnglandWildlifeAndMore I heard you say that, I also heard you say quality control was to blame for your misuse of a part. I get what you are doing but I stand by my statement. It’s ok buddy, I’ll still watch your vids.👍
I love you post, but burr particulates of Homedepot buckets, filthy drill bits, and nasty pots and pans that appeared to be kept outside, are the reason I do not purchase "made from home" foods. Some people do not have the sanitary standards that one would think would be a given. I have seen the layer of dust that accumulates on items at Homedepot, and I would not want my food to ever be prepared from any of it even after multiple washes. I do not think you washed out the hose either,... bra, you are half way to being fully self aware and aware of your surroundings,... force yourself the rest of the way and notice the disgusting, it is meant to be avoided.
Man, this was so cool watching you do this. I would love to have fresh maple syrup straight from local trees. Thanks for sharing this 💯👍
Great vid! This brought back many childhood memories of winters at the "Sugar Shack" and the huge cast iron pot and fire.

Ah yes I remember this one, very interesting, now all you need is a video making pancakes or waffles to eat with the yummy fresh syrup 😋 😎👍
Pancake and syrup party time!
That syrup looks so good.

Very interesting video! Nature is amazing.
Maple syrup is expensive in my country but worth it, so delicious.

Making syrup is fun
I bet that stuff is amazing. Real homemade syrup must taste far better than any store bought syrup.

First time I’ve seen syrup making in detail! Where was this?
16:47 -- "Here in Maine..."; if I had to guess, I would say probably Washington or Aroostook County or elsewhere in the Northern third of the state. 🙂
Omg A propane tank cost $18 in California but maple syrup is very expensive here in the West Coast good video.
Really? Are you sure that's not just the refill of the cylinder. The $88 I spoke of was for the entire tank
18 would be for an exchange/refill. Everything is more expensive in California except for cheap laborers and grapes possibly.
This is like that episode of Postcards from Buster with the syrup family. I think it was banned.
Man that is so cool! 🥞

Maple is maple. It’s the sugar content of the sap that varies through different species of maple.
Love watching this maple syrup video! You should be getting credit from Home Depot for using their merch.
I need a maple tabletop like you have.

How is Maple Sugar made? I assume that it is derived from the syrup somehow.
Waffles or pancakes?
Pancakes
Waffles
Crepes
Let me get the pancakes 🥞

@@ShepherdsChapelonYT watch sasquatch ontario video's and you may change your mind about that

How long have you been making maple syrup?
My first time in 6 yrs
Can you drink the sap straight from the tree like juice?
Yes you can but there is no guarantee it doesn't have bacteria unless you boil it
I drink it all the time.. Sap straight from the tree should be sterile, it can get contaminated sitting in a bucket or a line.
But u can get it from walmart !!
Maple syrup videos: still snow on the ground.
Here: already 90°F
This was a month ago but the area can still receive snow through the month of May. The growing season doesn't start until June 1st
What is this mysterious other channel I am missing out on?!
post 10
Great video!
Send me a bottle! Stay safe, brother!
😄🙌
Nothing like making something from you’re own backyard! I’ve got mulberries coming in her in North Texas and making preserves.
do you sell?
I do not, this was just for fun. It's a very small operation I only come out with a few jars for myself and whatever family might want to come over. I wouldn't risk selling it to anybody, don't want to get blamed if somebody gets sick
Ill trade ya barbed brass straights & t's for a jar of that good stuff
send me a bottle of that in the mail, please!
I wonder where he gets his buckets.
Hey, Postie. Didn’t you already post this vid?
04:28 - WTF is that image overlay to the left center?
That's a dump truck that got stuck in the driveway during mud season
This was on before?
Lowe's lids work better on Home Depot buckets. Very easy to get off, but Lowe's buckets are junk.
Those tee’s are not meant to have hose on the inside…
I said in the video the store didn't have any proper ones so I had to make do

Why is there still snow on the ground in May?
Because it is Maine. Growing season doesn't start until June 1st, June 15th for the top of the state
Also this was filmed in April
I'm sure you have uploaded this before 🤔
My GF at 5:20
Go more in depth so we know what trees to look for.
80$ for a 20 pound LP tank, you got ripped off. Even with the increase from covid, they should not cost more than 50$ empty.
It was $80 full now I just return ones that are completely useless and rusted-out since Blue Rhino have to take any tank for an exchange
i saw this long ago, this is a reupload
The description says I moved it to this channel
Why did he have to tell at us when he was tapping the tree
