Besides blocking hundreds of aid-laden trucks from entering Gaza at many border crossings, Israel has killed outright about 500 Palestinians of all ages in the last two weeks for the crime of showing up at designated food distribution points. It's now come to light that the port was Netanyahu's idea and that its real purpose is to help deport Palestinians from Gaza -- ethnic cleansing. Her saying that Israel has a right to go after Hamas is far from the position voiced by the vast majority of nations which defended international law before the ICJ in supporting Palestine's exclusive right to self-determination and the right of an indigenous people to resist in self-defense a brutal occupying army like the IDF. She's objectively taking a Zionist position, much like Bernie Sanders is, despite their impassioned rhetoric. Let's see either of them or their ilk call for an immediate, full, and permanent end to US funding of Israel, for immediate, full, and permanent sanctions on Israel, for a total and permanent ceasefire and the implementation of massive relief to Gaza, for immediate restoration and augmentation of UNRWA funding, for reparations to Palestinians for having given billions a year and diplomatic cover over decades to the Jewish supremacist Israelis, for full support to the right of return of all Palestinians to their homeland, for full support of the arrest and trial in UN or Palestinian courts of the war criminal leadership of Israel and of the US and other imperialist powers, etc.

The calculation for aoc was whether calling it a genocide would make stopping the weapons going to israel harder. That was the most important work that she could do. Her language hasn't changed. It even differs from Bernie. If you look at her language before this, she always spoke like she was trying to lead people to the conclusion that israel was doing genocide. She wouldn't have spoken like she did in any of her appearances if she didn't believe there was a genocide. The only thing that changed was now she's using the word 'genocide'. It's annoying when people agree on the policy but stick their nose up at actual politicking.
Actually she has been calling it a genocide, there have been edited videos of people harassing her and they edited it to make it seem like she was avoiding the question. The one time when she should have gotten credit was edited out.
First time she said it in Congress which now makes it on record. First time I heard of any politician use the term "genocide" in Congress to describe what is going on in Gaza by Israel.
Also noteworthy on 25.3.2024 the Singapore government took issue with a Facebook post from the Israeli embassy that was an attempt to re-write history and used a verse from the Quran to do so. We need to understand the social and political pressures someone like AOC is under. With her choice in particular, there are calculations to consider when it comes to even rhetoric. Its not that she diaagreed, it's figuring out when and how to say it. Granted it ought to have been done sooner, but in her position, it's never about her disagreeing, but rsther what leverage can be granted and what is gained by adopting this rhetoric. Maybe something changed, but i think she played it correctly

@@Brickerbrack that’s dumb - the algorithm will eventually factor in censored versions of those words anyway…
@@JennyTalia2810 hardly.
@@spiderguy418 It will eventually, but by then this won't be news. It is indeed, at least for now, gonna be a continual race to keep just ahead of the algo...
She needs to call out the OCCUPATION.
Take Japper doing a great job there as the israeli spox person on CNN
"[AOC]'s joining the chorus with, uh, Rashita Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Summer Lee, Cory Bush..." and apparently Trump, who's saying Israel needs to stop, they're losing support.
It's so sad that the truth gets so highly criticized and admonished.
AOC has Lady Balls of Steel!!
Much Respect!
Well done !
Get rid of Netanyahu ( not his birth name).
Thank you
The calculation for aoc was whether calling it a genocide would make stopping the weapons going to israel harder.
Thank you for your work, Kyle 🤍
Actually she has been calling it a genocide, there have been edited videos of people harassing her and they edited it to make it seem like she was avoiding the question. The one time when she should have gotten credit was edited out.
First time she said it in Congress which now makes it on record. First time I heard of any politician use the term "genocide" in Congress to describe what is going on in Gaza by Israel.
Sure, 😂😂😂😂😂
Ugh better late than never I suppose…
But she is still telling people Vote Blue No Matter Genocide. sick and sociopathic.
Also noteworthy on 25.3.2024 the Singapore government took issue with a Facebook post from the Israeli embassy that was an attempt to re-write history and used a verse from the Quran to do so. Very controversial in Singapore. The Israeli embassy deleted the post.
AOC delivered a powerful speech. God bless her and protect her.
Good old Tap Jaker, as you say.
Kap Jater
Jak pater
WoW so quick to recognize a Genocide 🙄
We need to understand the social and political pressures someone like AOC is under. With her choice in particular, there are calculations to consider when it comes to even rhetoric. Its not that she diaagreed, it's figuring out when and how to say it. Granted it ought to have been done sooner, but in her position, it's never about her disagreeing, but rsther what leverage can be granted and what is gained by adopting this rhetoric. Maybe something changed, but i think she played it correctly
Thanks for reporting
I don't understand how well over 50% of the country agrees that Israel is committing genocide and fully supports a permanent ceasefire, yet only 30% agree that we should be providing humanitarian aid to over a million starving Palestinians. Why such a massive disconnect there?
Theory:
People want the genocide to stop but don't want to pay for aid. Probably they want Israel to send aid. Maybe?
ABOUT FUCKING TIME!!!
She is making a stand now that it is safe for her to do it. AOC... is she still too young and easily manipulated? Idk about her. She always comes around *after* she got criticized.
Thanks for the AOC update. Just donated money to campaign to fight off AIPAC.
Denounce the administration?
I recently had a concussion snowboarding where I forgot a whole day and I’m still aware enough to see how disgusting this all is. Jake Tappers line of questioning is fucking absurd! 6:00
About time!!!!
Honestly bro you are unique and brave
AOC is TRULY BRAVE!
I have always trusted her from the beginning!
As a nation, we were well-trained. So well-trained that the phrase "Israel has a right to defend itself" suddenly included, "even at the cost of innocents."
The sexism in this chat is disgusting.
A woman gets called out on something makes it sexism? Youre too worried about being offended more than anything
Bot.
@@John-gi6yh But more people agree with them than you.
It’s sexist to pretend that politicians of one gender cannot be criticized for valid reasons. You are the sexist, but you don’t even realize it.
I'm offended that you're offended.
I think she’s been hearing AIPAC’s threats and is down for a throw down. Look at this young woman, thrown into the gnarliest ring of all, and only one round in she’s got business on her mind!
She is still soft selling it. She is saying 1.1 million ... not 2.3 million people.....
it's not 2.3 mill any more. I don't think it's dropped to 1.1 yet but the death toll is not only undercounted but a lot of people have died just because of the conditions being forced on the area.
Waited way too long, waited until public sentiment was too loud to ignore
Kyle for senate.
I called her office and told her thank you for speaking up, sometimes positive reinforcement is helpful.
She was speaking of herself when talking about good people doing too little, too late.
✔️ you read my mind
BRAVE?????? bravery is facing an enemy, not giving a speech to other politicians.
Kyle Kulinski admitting that AOC did SOMETHING right? Did not think I'd live to see the day. Seriously, though, the issue should be agreed upon by EVERYBODY.
