My family is the most unsupportive, which I am surprised about because we've always been close and supportive in everything else, but when my grandpa got his diagnosis of Parkinson's I and my grandpa were the only ones trying to learn about Parkinson's, treatments and health. My grandma, doesn't want to learn and has resorted to only thinking about herself and many times now has been belittling my grandpa because of things out of his control and my mom and uncle are basically awol and still think my grandpa can still handle stressful things like before, which I found that he can to an extent but stress also has caused his Parkinson's to advance. So I spend a deal of time trying to educate family who doesn't want to be educated about Parkinson's and protecting my grandpa from pleading with my grandma about what is out of his control such as drooling or shuffling. Its hard, and I've learned to make sure to take time for myself so I don't completely lose it. Lol I just desire that both my grandparents have the best years right now as they can because this is their last days and it just seems like the worst time ever at times and it breaks my heart that no one else seems to care about that in my family.
