- The Dirt Farmer shows some of the many varied jobs, chores that need to be done on a typical day. Also talks a bit about a solution to the bad, corrosive, non lubricating "diesel" that they make nowadays.
I was raised running 2cyl tractors on propane so didn’t have any experience at a young age with diesel. But, my Grandpa and my Dad always used Marvel Mystery Oil in the gasoline tractors. So, I have been adding a healthy portion of Marvel to my diesel trucks and tractors since about the mid ‘80,s with great results and no rust issues.
Hello Bill, always a joy to hear your words of truth. Thank U 4 Ur time & I agree, U are spot on about them tomatoes.
Thank you kindly
Damn , that was some mucky diesel good job You've got a good lad to give you a service . You got to look after your old ladies . Those tomatoes are stonking 👍🇬🇧
Excellent video, AGAIN! The cruddy diesel is why manufacturers went to plastic tanks and even finer micron filters. JD has changed and subbed so many part numbers that even the really great parts people are frustrated. Heck, they even sub filter numbers, but I think the T19044 is still the same.
Thanks for sharing
Had an aunt that didn't like the 301 bridge, enjoy the matter juice and scratch snop
What a wide variety video ! I liked the fuel cleaning system..I try n put the lubricity in my big barrel n let the pump run to mix it up..As always thanx 4 sharin Bill
Sounds like you know what you're doing.
Howdy Bill, seems as though we just keep coming up with more and more things in common…. Home Brew you say?🤔
I’ve been blending my own elixir for a number of years and like yours, most folks wouldn’t like the look of it, but it sure seems to be work’n out for me! Your injection pump station looks a lot like my bench too, most don’t see how I can keep track of things!😉
Bless’ns to ya, Tedd
Hey Tedd, great minds think alike, right!
Good morning Bill, awesome video today, and you’re right there’s nothing like homegrown madors, Good Bless, Jimmie
Always a pleasure to hear from you Jimmie!
Thanks for sharing the video. Hadn't heard that song in a while about the home grown tomatoes. Yeah this new fuel is hard on the injection pumps and stuff. Next time I need some pump work I will have to see if you would be interested in doing it for me. Hopefully no time soon. Yes please keep us posted on your home made concoction if that works good in your tractors. Take care.
It's worked so far, and for heating oil too. l was going to tell everything about it but the video would not upload until l removed it, really! Devine intervention keeping the EPA from finding out and raiding me???
This explains alot. The fuel cap on my 3020 is rusty. I ll be giving it a good cleaning.
Now them are some tomato plants. New diesel is hard on
the old pumps as you well know.
LOL "Just look like your doing something like our liberal politicians " great line thanks for that this mornin !
My pleasure George.
That and a good tomato sandwich. Haven't heard the Homegrown Tomatoe song in years🍅
Saw a round cab JD at a dealership just South of Staunton, VA today. Just off I81, couldn't read the name (or number), but I know you can track it down if you want to. 👍
I agree when you go to John Deere there aint no tractors there no more.
God bless you bro!
The stand-up fuel pump on top of the fuel tank is a real farmer engineered work of art! Just let us know it (Works)!
That tank was in the ground... l guess we have a worse erosion problem than l thought!😆
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 At least if it springs a leak you'll find it, before the DEQ does.
I wish you would make longer videos keep them coming
I was down ur way Saturday night for a 21st birthday party at the boat house in deal
And you didn't have time to swing by and say hey? 😁
Here i was thinking the ethanol gas was a bad thing. Have they done the same with Diesel fuel. Now im thinking why i have been having issues with my Dads ford 1520 with the fuel filters clogging up .
Yeah, they changed the formulation, now it's a water drawing, non lubricating corrosive liquid. lt's vitally important to mix a lubricating agent to your fuel. 2 stroke oil or something made by Amsoil or lucas for that will work. I just pour my old hydraulic fluid strait in my big tank when I change it, it'll run LOTS better.
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 Thanks for the info , I'll be sure to find something to mix myself. You have solved a few issues I've been having with my Dads old Ford. I know it isn't green but my Dad loved the little ford and it's been a great little tractor.
Do you work on the two cylinder pumps and injectors Id love to learn more on them. Its a dieing thing anymore
Hey Scott! I do work on the two cyl. pumps from time to time, l'll try to do a video on that when l have a chance.
Sorry we had to go to birthday party at boat house
I use Howes fuel treatment in every load of fuel we get
Yes, that was a little scary look at the diesel fuel but if your elixir works, use it. I'm a little late to the party but have you scraped the old Avery tractors? Scrap prices are pretty good lately.
Still have the Averys, you have interest? l wouldn't really scrap them.
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 I have interest but from Central Kansas to Southern MD is not on the travel schedule this Summer. I might be heading back to Alaska to finish some remodeling projects for my son. I’m really interested in Avery’s just a few years older than yours but do like the hydraulics those years offered. I believe the hood design and the offering of twin front wheels were the biggest differences
I can't bear the suspense. Are you gonna tell us your secret formula? I'm with you on the older, non-computerized tractors. My neighbor has a 4640. Wish I had one. I guess that make me covetous. As for the heat in your shop, I know a guy that built a 454 in his spare bedroom. I'm sure a little ole injection pump on the kitchen table wouldn't hurt anything. You could call it quality time with the family.
Hey, l intended to, l had it in the video, but when l went to export it, that part would not cooperate. We tried several times, l kinda took it as God saying it might not be good to broadcast it to the whole world. Let me just say this to you, l have a great way to utilize all the stale gas, waste oil, and used hydraulic fluid that we accumulate from our shop, and fuel tank cleaning business.
Always something to do on the farm. Those three years will go fast unfortunately and you and your family will he hanging that century farm sign before you know it.
Hey Chris, yep, time does fly.
