    I'm a bit behind on flosstubes, but always enjoy watching your videoes. I'm doing Stitching Olympics with my embroidery guild. We started when the torch was lit and everyone has a goal. Quaker Tiles is certainly a beautiful design. Until next time, enjoy the rest of your week 🌷

    Victorian Sampler looks great! I’m a little sad that I don’t have anytime to work on it but I am enjoying everything I’m stitching on right now. That’s life, having to make choices!
    You have a good start on your Olympics Challenge. I did Brenda’s challenge the last Olympics but knew I couldn’t do it this busy summer.
    Can’t believe the kids go back to school the second week of August. I bet you’re getting busy already. Hugs!

    Hi Sarah. Thanks for the update. It's interesting seeing so much progress the way you've planned this year's stitching. Hope you get to stitch lots of medals! 😊 ⚘️

    Hi Sarah! I always enjoy watching you plan and work on challenge stitching! It will be fun to see the various projects for each day of the Olympics. Cats and Hearts for July looks great! You’re still moving along on Castle Home owing. I pretty much fizzled out on mine. It turned out to be a bit more stitching than I planned to keep up with finishing a part a month. I may yet come back to it as I know my granddaughter would love it. Have a great week!

      I'm getting excited about Castle Homecoming more now that the top scene is almost done! I have it scheduled for a few regular day rotations this month, so hopefully I can make some nice progress. I'd really like to see it finished this year. I know how it can go to get behind on a SAL - definitely looses the joy of the project sometimes. :)

    I love it when you do the Olympics challenge. You always work on some very nice pieces. I love the Victorian Sampler! Is that pattern still available? Have a great week. I can't wait to see all of your progress next time.

      The Victoria Sampler has scaled back their offerings of physical products as the designers enter into retirement, but they still have most of their patterns available as PDFs on their website. Lovely stitching. I really like the purple you chose for your Victorian Samplers piece. How do you handle fractional stitches when you do your tiny 1 over 1 stitching?

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  Месяц назад +1

      I can only stitch a pattern over 1 when there are no fractionals or specialty stitches. Because there really is no good solution for that. If a design calls for over 1 sections, fractional stitches, or specialty stitches, in addition to regular cross stitch, I need to stitch that design over 2. When a design has only full crosses and no blends, it's a great candidate for stitching over 1, so I often try that with those designs! That's why my Seasonal girls are stitched over 2 on 27 count - there are a few fractionals in some of the sections. :)

    You are doing a great job with the Olympic stitching! It was very clever of you to take Brenda’s idea and make it work for you with a slightly decreased stitch requirement. I didn’t think of that!

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  Месяц назад

      Yes! I like the idea, but need to be practical about my stitching time. I was very happy I only needed to do 23 minutes yesterday with my new minutes amounts, since I was quite busy! :D

    Ohhh that is good to know about the newer version of the Quaker flag by Vivsters - I will have to take a look to see which I like better before starting (in a few years 😂😂). So glad you’re having fun with Olympic stitching. Funny you mentioned ABCINGO - we’re putting the finishing touches on it and will be posting August 1!

      I have a playlist where I have all of the "stitch with me" type videos and a few tutorials: ruclips.net/p/PL54kifyea7N2G56--hvipIY--eftvdUg2. It looks like I'm working on full coverage projects in eight of them.
      I use WinStitch Premium for charting cross stitch designs.

    Looks great Sarah. Really like you far quarter shop chart and those season girls on vintage country mocha . Can I ask on you tent stitch are they harder to frame . Do they finish alittle stretched on one side. Thanks

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  Месяц назад

      Because I stitch with a fairly loose tension and use a regular half stitch, the pieces that I've finished with all half stitches are only slightly warped at the end. To correct that before framing, I wash them, then "block" them - which means the damp finished piece is pinned down in a more squared up shape and then left to dry. Once blocked into a proper rectangle, they frame up nicely. :) You can see a few pictures of me undertaking that process when I finished and framed my Knitting Woman for my mom a little while back: ruclips.net/video/mP7-wGpz45o/видео.html I start talking about this project around the 10 minute mark.
