Can’t get enough of these lectures. There’s a lot of great science resources on RUclips but so many of them just feel like exam prep. These lectures feel so thoughtful and inspired!
What an amazing man! Thank you Dr. West - I hope you know the vast amount of impact your wonderful, accessible and elegant teaching has made to so many students. THANK YOU THANK YOU!
I thought my physiology teacher was great, until I saw this... wow, how useful... thanks for sharing this with the world! watching the whole series and taking notes cuz it's that good
I feel SO LUCKY to have found this! This lecture was SO CLEAR and well organized. Breath of fresh air! (It is a shame I did not come across these 'till the last three weeks of my physiology class.) I will visit these lectures for the duration of my education I am sure. Thank you for these!!!!
I'm from Brazil, from the state of Amazonas, I could never have a book by J. B West, but I've studied a lot in college libraries for him. Thank you very much for existing. I'm your fan
K is a constant used to equate dissimilar units. You have flow at the top, Vco2 in ml/min. You have pressure in the bottom, Pco2 in mmHg. You want that to equal alveolar ventilation VA which is in L/min. K is just a factor to make sure the units cancel appropriately.
