I loved that there was more input from the players in this video. Jeremy and Alex have such a wealth of knowledge and tactics that it's great getting their perspectives spliced into the turns.
Totally hooked on this series! Been collecting this game 20+ years, but re-discovered it a couple years back and only now started really learning the game and having a ton of fun in doing so. Learning a great deal of tactical tricks from your batreps because of the exelent explanation.
I really loved the series, the terrain and the beautiful painted models!! A suggestion would be to give some stats for key models after every match. Like wounds inflicted, key moments, missed shots etc and what turn did anything occured. Of course this would require even more time and editing.! Can't wait for the next one!
Thanks for the feedback. The reason that I haven't is the editing time and keeping everything tracked. A lot of people are asking for it so I will give it a shot in a smaller video and see how hard or easy it is
Spoiler... ... ... ... ... I suspected Alex had lost when he let slip during some Ardacon practice games that his dice rolling was exactly like his Conquest Finals game. But dam, I did not expect to see such jarring dice rolls. From the highest of highs killing Heroes with shooting, to the lowest of lows receiving the same in return literal seconds later. What a wild ride. Props to Jeremy. Well done mate, you have lost none of your edge even after all these years. Some of those micro positioning and exploitation of failed dice rolls was simply divine. If anyone want's to learn a few tricks, watch Jeremy's movement with his troops and heroes very carefully. He deliberately doesn't over extend in certain circumstances to hold ground in critical spaces and then goes super aggressive in other areas to draw Alex's resources away from the main fight to alleviate pressure. All of this combined with the way Jeremy engages Alex's Harad, to pin them and die slowly is a *Mhwa* Chef's kiss.
Great game, really could have gone either way until the very end there. Also loving getting some close ups of the archery range inspired by the one from Battle for MiddleEarth II
Hands down this is my favourite thing on RUclips. Love the player commentary throughout and it would be great to see more “individual player synopses” every turn.
Great job with this season Jacob! Top quality stuff. The only improvement that comes to mind for me is, occasional top-down shots of the whole battlefield with a few arrows/etc showing the macro strategy. Doesn't need a fixed camera, can just hold it up, then put on a few arrows and circles when you are describing eg 'this is Alex's strong side' or whatever. It can be a bit hard to follow which bits of the board and who is pushing where, etc, and this would help.
Great job by the players and the Conquest Creator for putting together a spectacle of a tournament. Jacob, awesome choice for scenario in the finale. I think Breakthrough is definitely an S Tier scenario. How about those late kills in this game? Each one mattered so much. MVP Tauriel. LVP The Betrayer.
12:52 how does model can refuse to back away? In the rulebook it says that the loser must back away. Does it have to do with spear support not wanting to make way?
Thanks for the comment, good question. You are correct the loser must back away. In this case what Jeremy meant was that he was not going to make way with the spearmen which means that the warriors in the front row did not have space to back into
@@motoshudenyamanato921 I was tempted to but I wanted to focus on filming and producing. I would have thought is was strange if I did well at my own tournament as well hahah
@@ConquestCreations play your wierdest army list next time to be the real underdog so everybody will root for you. Also a tournement of only legendary army list would be totaly cool.
I'd love to some graphics around the end of turn recaps. Just something to better help show the battle lines and to make it easier to follow along with all the important side objectives.
It was a rough way to start the match. It was really awesome that Alex wanted to shoot out his warrior to stop Bard from heroic combatting but in the process freed him to shoot and Kill Raza
Spoiler warning: . . . . . Congrats and well played to Jeremy! It was a really good tournament, although I am surprised to see Jeremy win after how close his past games were! I definitely felt like Alex had the better performance across the tournament but the dice were sadly not on his side today.
A good blue match came down to skill on the board. For next season try to at least not have so games decided by list strength in the 1st round. The last two didnt have that problem so you can do it. The scenario picking as well really compounded the list disadvantages so open scenario pack for players. That should prevent serious stomps from being the norm in rounds 1 and 2. Loved it even if 1st round was very predictable.
Hi Jacob, Nice video, as always. Thanks. I would suggest, for a next batrep, not to include in the middle of the video commentaries of the players that you recoreded after the batrep, because we coudl guess at their facial expression and tonality of voice who's won and who's lost. So, it's a bit of a spoiler, which lower the pleasure of watching. Thanks a lot, and keep on the good job. Alex.
When season 4 ? This is the best thing on youtube, i'm already missing it. Plus, what a finale, beautiful match, unlucky harad player, but far too skilled laketown one.
best player in Australia leaves a 75 point D5 hero facing the two best shooting heros in the game turn 1. Nice to see no matter what level you get to you can always have a brain fart!
The key thing was that when he was moving Bard was engaged in Combat so he was only facing Legolas without expecting that Bard would be shooting because he was fighting
Tauriel had such a good game. She more or less killed everything were she was. But then again, Tauriel should be like 20p more expensiv, really don't understand who made her only 85 points
It’s a great question. But there is a precedent in this game that you can’t re-roll re-rolls. Since Alex already activated the Betrayer’s ability, and it allows for ALL wounds to be re-rolled, I think they played it correct.
Thanks for the comment! This was played correctly. Suladan got to re-roll all the dice to wound because he was affected by the Betreyers "Master of Poison" special rule which means that every model within 6" of the Betreyer can re-roll all failed wounds for poison rather than just ones. This means that the re roll he got was his poison
and now replay that last match with a map that allows shooting! (and maybe even a game in the series that isnt auto won by random deployment) :) no offence to jeremy, congrats! #iamreallyafraidofhisshooting proceeds to shoot the opponents hero to death while suffering 0 losses from shooting.
If we had a map that was more open this game would have been very different. The rulebook states that you should have 33% - 50% terrain coverage and this was well within that range for a normal board
Thanks for the comment. The Lake Town heroes are all balanced by havings strengths and weaknesses. Braga for example gets free heroic actions on a 4+ when within 6" of the Master but him and any Lake Town guard within 3" of him aren't affected by Bards Heroic actions. Bard gets free combats and +1 fight when within 6" of the daughters but if they die he must do everything in his power to kill the model that killed his daughter.
The fact that a fisherman is the same fight value as the serpent lord is amazing to me
He's a bargeman actually 😉
Samwise gamgee, a hobbit gardener, is as skilled as a minas tirith veteran.
@@shishisei that makes sense
The hobbit lists are such actual bullshit
It gets better! When he is within 6" of his daughter he gets +1 fight to be better at fighting than the serpent lord!

For the next Conquest Champions league you should do a doubles tournament to show a different play style and different army lists.
