This song was Yelawolf telling his side of the story growing up with his mother who was a single parent who traveled and dated roadies for some pretty big bands back in the day. His mother had him when she was 16 and Yela never knew his father from what I remember. There was an interview where Yela said he had to somewhat parent his mom as well since she was pretty wild and heavily involved in drugs and alcohol. He also said that he grew up around some pretty rough bikers and as a child would wake up in the morning and there would be bikers passed out in the living room. Needless to say, his childhood sculpted his music career. Great take on his mother giving everything to the Rock and Roll baby (Yelawolf). That was spot on. To quote Yela: “Mama never did get child support for the boy, But I was never let down She was chopping up the pounds, So I learned how to double up on an ounce” Yelawolf - Rowdy
Shooter is the dude playing keyboards, but he can play anything. He's the son of legendary outlaw singer Waylon Jennings. He is also one of the best producers in music today, and his band is tight as hell. He's produced albums in many different genres, from Marilyn Manson and American Aquarium to Tanya Tucker and Brandi Carlisle. Plus, he writes and records his own music with his band. The dude is legit. He and Yela are like a supergroup together.
Yelawolf is an amazing artist. Like who can say they were signed with Eminem as almost a warm up for the rest of their musical career? The 5 and soon to be 6 albums he's put out since he left have all been phenomenal. His music always just hits different, no matter what genre he's doing
@@ThreeShadesofWhatever Ha just felt like making an ass outta me n u by assuming Joking aside, I just wanted to put some love on Shooter's name. They're both insanely talented tho and they go way back so it's cool to see em work together. Shooter is like the mad scientist. Ever since he started focusing more on producing, the dude's exec producer credits are insanely eclectic. Brandi Carlile (Grammy), Tanya Tucker (Grammy), Slash, Duff McKagan, American Aquarium, Jason Boland, Marilyn Manson, Yelawolf, Lukas Nelson, etc. Guy is a bit out there lol, but most brilliant artists are. His pops is the Fn GOAT
