    Kvd seems like one of the most genuine dudes of all time. Without a doubt he's the GOAT in character and skills.

    Great video.. I've been fishing an impoundment lately and having heaps of success with crank baits on the periods that fish are not schooling, both trolling and casting. I wish Australia had more variety of crankbaits, America has waaayyy more variety and love for them.

    • @DeanSilvester

      yep USA has more variety in everything haha! cranking here is fun especially in QLD impoundments. Have also had a bit of success with them down south in NSW as well but QLD is the business

    This was really informative! I'm always facing muddy water conditions and usually have more questions then answers on how to fish during those times.

    Dean, Have you ever experienced the so called "Flurry" that KVD has talked about. A large amount of fish catching in a short period of time. I have had this happen twice in my 55 years of fishing. Once with smallmouths and once with Largemouth's. Last Easter was my last time. 38 bass in 1 hr and 15 minutes. Mate, It's really fun! I don't think the average Joe fishermen has ever had this happen. Shawn

      Sure have mate, Chickamauga in Tn i had a great session at the start of my last day of the tournament. Almost a fish a cast for an hour or two on big swim baits.
      I have also had this happen a couple of times in Florida in the grass where i caught a fish a cast into the same piece of hydrilla.

      @@DeanSilvester Hey, Mate do you have video on your " Flurry " ? Were you worn out afterwards? I tried to not get to excited. But I was smiling the whole time. I believe it was more than 38. That's when I started counting. I sent pictures to my wife and fishing buddy. He couldn't go that day. He had a Honey do list. Hope you have video. I saw KVD catch a 9 pounder during a tourament and the G' Man catch a 10 pounder. But the "Flurry" is AWESOME! Glad you shared that with me. Hang in there Mate. It won't belong before you will be back out there winning 30 or 31. Wish you the best. Shawn

    well done...squarebill or shad rap DT 4 series kills the shallows....a big kvd square bill can be used as a top water jerkbait to wake bass up...gently retrieve and hold on tight for the monster that was watching it

    I know i am a little late on this video and i also know that KVD is the goat of bass fishing, but ive always had more success with dark colors in dirty water not bright colors. Guess im just ass backwards lol

    • @DeanSilvester
      @DeanSilvester  5 лет назад +1

      never too late, i havnet heard of people using dark colours in dirty water before but it does make sense that they can see it easily. However if you notice that dirty water bass and bait are often lighter in colour then when in clear water?

  • @basspirate7384
    @basspirate7384 8 лет назад +6

    I've always been told dark colors for darker water.......any reason some people dissagree

    • @DeanSilvester
      @DeanSilvester  8 лет назад +2

      you are looking for a contrast when the water is dirty. dark colours will contrast however the bright chartreuse's etc will be easier to see

    • @MrPaLmBeAcH80
      @MrPaLmBeAcH80 8 лет назад +1

      natural colors for clearer water and brighter colors in darker water.

    • @mattdan6752

      to the human eye bright colors are more visible in tainted water. bass vision is different than ours, there pupils don't dilate, so they can't see as well in direct sunlight and low light. in really dirty water they are unable to see your bait and rely on their lateral line to find the bait, but lures that are darker than the water create a silhouette that they can see.

      bass pirate I like dark for like plastics or slow moving and chart. / bright for fast moving in those conditions.

    • @barrydouglas4179

      Dark water I'll use a white Zoom super fluke works well. Best advice anyone gave me is listen and look at your surroundings. What live baits do you see??? If you hear frogs a rippin' and a hollerin' use them. If you see baitfish poppin' use them. But my favs are jerkbaits. Wounded fish are easy targets....having said that who here wouldnt wanna fish w that guy. Man.

    If I hear KVD say “lateral line” in one more video I’m gonna pass out!! Hahaha!! He always talks about Bass “lateral line” This is great info though about how Bass get shallow in super dirty water.
