1927, Murrey County courthouse. 16 yr old black man was arrested for assaulting a white woman. A group of vigilantes stormed in and beat him, dragged him through town before lynching him from the courthouse. Horrific. Appalling. Wrong. However that courthouse has been used or a backdrop in several videos and movies including the Hanna Montana movie. People need to take everything in context. Love your reaction.
Thank those who are law enforcement in your family for me I appreciate and respect them for their service and sacrifice and by the way you come to my town we will always have your back. If our officers are on the ground fighting to restrain a combative person I will stop my car and get down and dirty with you until the threat is contained!
I am from Alabama we have learn for our mistake Black and White we all bleed red we are unit and proud of it unit we stand that's is what our Government is scare of , God Bless us all
36 movies have been filmed at that building, including Disney. Jason lives up the road from that location. “Grand-dad gave me a gun, they (Government) say they are going to round up, that shit may happen in the city (gun control, gun free zones, etc), try that in a small town”. By the way, his best friend is Ludacris, among his other close (black) "good ole boy” friends.
This song is not racist. Anyone that thinks it is racist, they are the racist. This song is targeting any criminal engaging in these activities. I absolutely love this song! Go Jason Aldean and God Bless America🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Thank you for casting this. The woke tried to use this to divide us more. But it backfired. Seems it's brought more UNITY than division. I work in the public in a small town. Everyone is talking about this. It's opening conversation and understanding.
Small towns have their own issues, however, I’m a thousand times safer now that I’m out of the city! I moved to a small town a year ago to protect my rights as a human living in the US!
I live in rural Illinois, my family is Korean, one of my few neighbors is Filipino, good friend of mine who lives 4 miles south of me is black!!!! Try That in a Small Town!!!
I really enjoyed your commentary and working out the details of the song, but also pulling out the truth of everything we are facing as a nation. Good job my man!
Cool. My great-grandfather was a cop in Chicago-city..during Capone. As for the song? ..I just want folks to care for one another..and stop being pawned-out by the pols..who care nothing about them. Godspeed; don't give up; after you've kicked-off, this will mean everything!
Great reaction! It looked like maybe you were a little confused about the 2nd verse of his granddads gun and the line of “one day they’re gonna round up”. He’s talking about the government trying to tread on the 2nd amendment and try and take all of our guns…. Not happening, it’s not going to fly out here in these small towns. ❤️🎶❤️
My hubby has several guns from his Granddaddy and his Daddy.. They are still used to this day for Deer, Turkey and Goose hunting. Never been used to shoot a human being.. And yes.. I cook what he hunts. I don't like hunting myself because I hate being cold lol.. but I know how to shoot and have my license. I'm just happier in my kitchen.
That part about rounding up. He said he had a commemorative gun that was left to him from his grandfather which he loved and now they're trying to say that they're going to round up their weapons and take it away from him. But he said that shit might fly in the city, good luck, try it here in a small town
Everyone that thinks this song has to do with race is plain nuts or delusional. There are small towns all over the planet and will pretty much chase anyone out if they try bs. Cities across the world allow too much crap.
That Hellene in New Orleans right after Katrina hit. They were going house to house rounding up the guns. I watched a body cam of the feds going into one house. The peoples dog was barking. They shot the dog!!!
There were 3 Italian men lynched there in 1939 iirc. The black man who was lynched happened in 1928. The video producer said HE picked the location because the building was white and they could project the video onto it, that's all. Plus, it is 30 miles from Jasons house. He wouldn't be gone from his family so long with the proximity of that set. Also, Mario Lopez filmed a Lifetime Christmas movie at the same location. I guess that Hispanic guy is a white s.upremacist, too? Oh, and Miley Cyrus filmed scenes for the Hanna Montana movie on those steps.
Great reaction. Regarding the courthouse….if people would only stop and think. I bet there’s not an inch of ground in the US where something terrible happened. The people crossing the country on wagon trains to settle the west. They were attacked by white guys robbing and stealing. And some of the native Americans attacking and killing. All the wars that have been fought. I heard the worse lynching that was done, was when 11 Italians were hung at one time. And the list goes on and on. But no one holds on to the past like blacks do. I’m not saying all blacks, but I think you know what I mean. We all need to be kind to one another. I wish you the best of luck with your new channel. And much respect to your family members who are in law enforcement.
I would not have known about that courthouse until the view said it was racist and said why. It is just a courthouse. You have a great reaction. thank you for taking your time and sharing . Jason does have another song I think you would like called "Dirt Road Anthem". Really good. You have a great smile and keep on doing what you do. Have a blessed day.
He is sueing Whoppie Goldberg now for 40 million for calling him a racist on tv and she never watched the video to speak on it just the dog whistle it was a racist song and video ! Which I don’t agree , it’s neither ! Great song and video ! Have a great! day
yeah i live in a small town. we had a murder abour 20 years ago. there were some boys breaking into cars 10 years ago. the police here are busy writing speeding tickets. i like it. i love it. i need more of it .
I live in a small town about an hour from where the riots were they loaded up two buses and decided to come here to try the same. They were met with police officers at the top of the courthouse stairs and civilians at the bottom of the courthouse stairs with civilians placed all through the downtown area at the mom and pop shops. All were carrying long guns IE AR-15s. The bus loads of Riotrrs and BLM assess the situation about 30 minutes and left. The cops and the civilians shook hands went about their way and was never questioned about where all those they are 15s came from we love our small town and we were ready to defend it. And that's why you don't start crap in a small town
OMG.. just listened to some more of your comments... Thank you for saying... I know he's not talking about me because of my skin color... Yes I'm a 56 yr old white woman... but I know he's not talking race.. and when he says round em up.. he's talking about the government trying to take away our LEGAL guns... So many levels to this song. Don't get it twisted like mainstream media did
He wasn't talking about any race ,the song is about all the violence that goes on in the bigger cities, and not so much in small towns. In small towns we look out for each other.
Thank you for your reaction! Im a new subscriber after watching this. I despise the fact that this happened, the lynching of a young man. However, it's exactly what you said, you'll be hard pressed to find a historical courthouse in the south that doesn't have something despicable in its history. We ARE better but we need to be better still. I was in 4th grade when schools were integrated. We've been there, let's help each other out instead of allowing the media to divide us!
Buy the way you got the story right about the Courthouse in the video, But the date was wrong, It happened in 1927, 97 years ago. someone had to take out a real old history book to find this out, The building is in Columbia TN and the reason he picked the building was it was 10 minutes from his house.
Was actually 1927 and yes there was a black man killed there and it is in Tennessee he didn't choose the spot but the spot is minutes from where Jason lives

It's a courthouse the same place he n we go pay our car sticker n taxes. 100 years ago its going be hard to find a courthouse in the south that that didn't happen 100 years ago. I live in a small town in Ky. You think black people dont live here too. My black nephews are good ole boys. Small town people stick together. Next door lives my Brother and his black wife and kids. You cant be too racist here, black or white cause everybodys intermarried and stuff or known each families all their life. Mess with shit that people own and its your ass. 💯✌️❤️ from Ky
The comment about the gun his granddad gave him was talking about gun control and the Second Amendment. The courthouse is in Tennessee near his home. I don't that was his even his choice.
From what ive gathered that incident happened in1927,someone did an awful lot of digging to just throw shade on this video because it doesnt fit their agenda. And the rounding up was rounding up all our guns lol they think thats gonna happen in these small towns. Some people are just off their rockers all the clips was from the 2020 riots which they can get away with in the big cities but they would have tried that in small town they would have gotten a real rude awakening we dont play that shit here and thats all jason was saying
He’s talking about the prospect of government “rounding up” our guns, and he’s saying, “Good luck with that.” Not trying to be inflammatory, but we probably have more guns than the army. Plus they would have no legal right to do so. So don’t try it. Thanks for the reaction! 👍
Great reaction. Keep doing them. Just keep it legit, if you have heard a song before just say you have. So many creators claim "FIRST TIME reacting" and then you look back and they have the same title 3 years before.... about the courthouse.. yeah, people were "lynched" there. That can be said about every courthouse in the world... dude didn't just specifically go to that place, that was his home town. My husband was taken hostage back in the 80s so I know what its like to live in fear but people didn't dis respect the police force back then like some are allowed to do today. What part of it was horrible? Lol. We should do that to more rap1sts. White OR black
I love this song and message, I believe all artists that believe in the song and message should get together and record it like We are the World 🌎.
One of my fav songs of all time... I'm dating myself but came out the yr I graduated from HS...
Kam thank you so much for the video, JASON ALDEAN Absolutely got this video right.i really enjoyed your commentary on the video,God Bless you 🙏🇱🇷
It was 1927. And that courthouse is about 12 miles from his home.
I stand with Jason 100%
I appreciate you brother thanks for your thoughtful take. This song is not racist period. People just want to divide.
Thank those who are law enforcement in your family for me I appreciate and respect them for their service and sacrifice and by the way you come to my town we will always have your back. thank you for the break down and info. This was a great song
1927, almost 100 years ago. Many music artists have used this building as a back drop, incuding black groups. No racism here.
I Love Jason and this Song.❤
Absolutely😂 he can come to the cookout. As long as he brings Chris Stapleton cuz I need to hear his version of Metallica's
" Nothing else matters"

Great message for everyone. The electric guitar music is awesome!
The lynching was in the 1920's. The building is the court house. I am glad you are listening to this song. I like your reaction to this song.

SW Florida loves JASON 🇺🇸💙
“He’s not talkin’ to me”……..All that needs to be said..
Same here cuz me and mine don't do dumb s*** like that. I'm 48 years old and I'm still scared of my Vietnam vet father LOL

@@TexasRose50 what do you mean that happened in NO? I don't quite get what you mean
I was correcting the word Hellene. It should have been ‘happened’ in New Orleans. So sorry for the confusion.
Don't you wonder how much grandparents and parents are so proud of there children for being on TV 😂
A RESOUNDING MESSAGE OF UNITY
Go Jason you are a hero no criminals there

I think that's the Maury County Courthouse in Tennessee
He was talking about the government wanting to take our guns. That's what he meant by round-up.
When he said one day they are gonna round up he is talking about the government trying to come take our guns
Great review man :)
He meant they are going to round up guns. Not for any other reason that the government dont want YOU to defend yourself.
1927 a young black man was lynched accused of rape. Who knew? Disney filmed Hannah Montana in front of that same courthouse
Was actually 1927 and yes there was a black man killed there and it is in Tennessee he didn't choose the spot but the spot is minutes from where Jason lives

He’s talking about the prospect of government “rounding up” our guns, and he’s saying, “Good luck with that.” Not trying to be inflammatory, but we probably have more guns than the army. Plus they would have no legal right to do so. So don’t try it.
