Thank you for uploading this video, Ramon Novarro had a wonderful voice, that he worked to train and he did sing professionally. But he was torn between acting and singing. This aria says it all about Ramon's life, not to cut the girl he loved out his heart but something else that lived in his heart, as he was torn between the love of the catholic church and other things. He was a beautiful soul and sensitive and natural actor. Read Andre Soares book the life of Ramon Novarro

Gracias. Novarro es un actor más interesante de lo que yo podía suponer.

Navarro was also a fine pianist, and during his years of silent films had wanted a recording contract from Brunswick Records--but as Gus Haenschen, Brunswick's Director of Popular Releases, told Navarro after hearing him perform, the buying public had no idea that he was a competent pianist, much less a singer, and the recordings wouldn't result in enough sales to warrant what he was asking Brunswick to pay him.

I heard Ah Dispar Vision (Ah feyez dolce image) sung much better by real tenors. Your are correct, his voice was light but dramatic. I did like this movie.
