Palestinian "Hello", which is "Assalamualaykum" is from Arabic, which is widely used by Arabic people and also Muslim people. The word "Assalamualaykum" means "Peace be upon you". Therefore, when we meet one another and say "Assalamualaykum", we are also wishing peace and wellness upon the other person.
And to answer "Assalamualaykum", we could reply by saying "Wa Alaykumussalam", which means "And upon to you be peace", which also wishes peace and wellness towards the other person.
PS: Arabic isn't my mother language, so I might get some info wrong. If there are any native Arabic speakers, please do correct me.
    Assalamualaykum! 😁
