Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!

I just got my ten week old Labrador. After seeing part one and two, I immediately put buddy's dog food in my pocket. I started rewarding him immediately for patience, sitting and good behavior while I cleaned and made breakfast. He let me tie my shoes without biting at them. He let me walk him. If he pulled the leash we stopped and he sat. Then I'd give him a little tug and we were on our way. After a few trips up and down the road he started biting the leash and whining. The food was no longer effective. So I guessed that he was full removed the leash before it became a target, and we stopped training. Instead We came inside and took a nap.

I just got my ten week old Labrador about two days ago and he’s a pure bred black male, I named him buddy ever since I’ve had him I’ve done the same training with him since we live on a farm I take him on walks, feed him treats when he sits and so far he’s been real easy to train and play with.

@@locs9026I got my wee fella two weeks ago, he’s ten weeks now and also black. My daughter named him on the drive home and he also is Buddy! I’m going to start the training I’ve seen on this channel and I’m sure he’ll be open to anything that means he gets some food 😁

This is great! A puppy training video that is based on nothing more than good common sense! I think I finally found a video series I'm gonna stick with moving forward with my 3 month old lab. I bought into the whole shock collar thing but haven't used it yet most pups (and especially labs) train so easily at this age. Keep up the good work and keep these videos coming!

Glad I found your channel. Excellent tips. We are still learning with our lab who will be 2 in December. We did some basic training right from the beginning such as fetch, come, sit, stay, down, paw...he is really good with those and walks on leash nicely. They are really smart. We have a fenced in yard where we play and he's never tried bolting out the door. BUT I don't know what he would do if we were NOT on a leash and NOT fenced in. We are on a semi-busy street so we try to be extra careful. I don't know what he would do IF he got out and we said STOP and a bunny was running by or something. I would hope he would listen. We'll keep watching your videos so we can keep learning so he stays safe. Thanks for the great video. :)

I dont know if you still read the comments because i realize this is an old video, but if you do thank you.
The way you treat and respect the animals you work with was exactly the type of tutorial i was looking for, i paid a lot of money for a personal help with a puppy trainer that was just rough and intolerant. I'm only three videos in with you ( although three videos is more like 2 months in work) and we are a great team already.
    Thank you again.
Also, it may interest you to know your video's are being loved on the other side of the world to you, im currently living in new Zealand :)

Laffin' at that Nigerian buck! SO persistent on that treat sack! 😂 I've often run into "old school" guys telling me you can't run a dog through training till he's 6 mos. old - and I tell them "You've already lost all the period of infancy when their little brains are so malleable!" I start mine as soon as they come in my house as new babies! Items = names - tasks = names - teach them words and what they mean! I start like a human baby and do body-parts, and make a game of it! Labs doing Service work go in and out of doors alongside chairs, and some of those doors close automatically - they gotta be aware of all their body-parts and where they are - including their tails. So body-parts, items of clothing, household items and structures. Then move onto tasks - pulling on command, names of directions (I use mule-terms), cans as opposed to bottles and boxes, etc. "Mine!" = respect my stuff and food. "Gimme ____," = whatever item I name or drop. "Don't Touch!" = because there are items dropped by others in public that smell good but are bad for dogs and Labs are pigs. 😂 That on TOP of all the regular "mind me" stuff you're working on. I keep free-range poultry - my Labs respect them and defend them from predators... they know the eggs in their supper-bowl come from those birds. Like you working pups with the Nigerians distracting, I do my babes starting on a long-line in the birds' pasture. Love your videos! ❤️❤️❤️

So I have two dogs, both a year old, and I am having trouble with training with them. One is a Carolina Dog and the other looks like a pit mix. Both are very smart high energy pups. They respond perfect to me, but with my mother they are horrible. Both are very intelligent and know that she isn't "strong" and take advantage with her around. She always says she will work on the training with them so they can see her as more of an authoritative figure, but she's just not. All that happens is she gets frustrated, yells at them, then gives up, and ends on a negative note. They will make major jumps backwards in their training from her walking/taking them out/or just being in the room without me there. In the ideal case she would work with them and get better, but as it stands now, how do keep my progress and keep a positive momentum, with her around them? It's getting to the point where I am really at my limit with how she handles both dogs.
