God bless that deceased man wherever he is.
And bless his wife too and give strength to her to bear this terrible loss.
I really hope everybody knows how to defend themselves in life threatening situations through these real teachers like Professor James.
This channel deserves so many more subscribers, just because of the selfless service Professor is providing us to all!
I know Professor James is an old and a very recognised, respected name in the field of martial arts and self defense.

Professor, You are so real. I've studied and mastered at least 5 forms of martial arts. If someone who might teach or train if he says he wants to learn how to fight., I send him to a boxer. My best training has been with no pads nun chucks or any instrument. A black belt only holds up your pants. I'm an expert supposedly with close quarter hand to hand. We never were in tournaments. We were trained in street, real situations. If you didn't block that punch you left with a broken nose. Sometimes I trained so hard, I left with total bruises on my arms from blocking and counterpunching. Know your distance, move closer or move out. swing and a miss. I know all the pressure points, arm bars and locking the wrist to break it and then the elbow. We trained like you. Keep it real your a great teacher. I am from a Military and Law Enforcement Family. When you say share this video I share it. I walk into a Doctors office or the like. Everybody has their eyes on their phones, I could have one guy come from the back door and 2 through the front and take that place over in less than 2 minutes. Thank you for all you do.

I'm saddened to see how that man was stabbed to death in front of his girl. Everyone feels this loss of a life that results from this altercation. Seeing how this unfolded pushes me to train more with my wife and reinforce my code for "it's time to go!" If that man had an ounce of a self-defense technique maybe he would still be alive. This video and its message is real.

Thank you so much for this video. I studied Kali since the early 80's. Flow drill exercises develop sensitivity. Sensitivity has its place, but the flow drill exercises themselves do not work in a street situation. I understand the distinction. Much love and respect to Professor David and Shihan Kenny.

I grew up like this in the Rougher parts of London, where I left night School knowing the Gang on the corner were all carrying Blades and you can't because if anything kicks off, you the Good Guy have everything to lose and they don't care about going inside, it's a Badge of Honour. I defended myself, I started training in Judo at 11 years old I'd been graded and held a license when assaulted by two thugs with house Bricks, when it became an altercation, he went for the steel pen in his top pocket, He was also much taller than me, I took his eyes and stuck the others ear, dropped them both. If not for all the witnesses who came forward for me, I would have served 15 years in prison for a first offence, I was the only person charged. This attitude by the police that the defender who has done nothing but go about their life, creates this.

Wow sad situation.... When you show video clips and break them down it makes your lessons very real. Super helpful. Thank you for your passion Professor.
You have really made me aware of the deadly consequesnces of not taking action as soon as things start.
I dont fear that I dont know how to handle a situation (You are teaching us well), I dont fear that I will make a wrong move, I dont fear I will lose an encounter. I fear I will do exactly what this guy did and try to negotiate too long and give someone capable and intent on cold blooded murder the confidence and opportunity they need. Hesitation is so deadly.
P.S In the future could you please do a lesson on taking action but not being fully committed to it. Like the saying "dont slap a killer". Meaning if you decide to go you must go all the way and illiminate the threat - not do some half hearted move and then stop. Only going half way is very dangerous because now you have escalated the siuation but stopped and just pissed off the assailant making things much worse. I fear doing this too.
    Thank you guys, Osu!

What true real world defense is as opposed to a martial artist drill
What I honestly thought was He was setting up that knife attacker up really well for a spin kick if he knew how to spend, kick him really good in the stomach
And if you watch the video.
He actually really does set him up perfectly for, a spinning backkick to the stomach
But this video is saying that is something you have to practice for some years to use it in a real life situation! He is 100% right! The only way I knew how to do that was by practicing work like 5 years!!!!
What this RUclips channel teaches is wonderful defense. You can use in real Life for real people. Oh, who don't necessarily train in martial arts
Hes teaching real people how to defend themselves for real dangerous situations. So they won't get killed on the street

I don't think that wukd happen in todays crazy world.Anyway, I had about 30 seconds to act before they showed the gun. I was scared and I hesitated. That hesitation could have led to me getting hurt. "the big man would have been in trouble for defending against the small man" - We get what you really talking about, backed up by the fact his own women didn't back him up to police, and refused to identify the attacker, for the very same reasons. She contributed to the "lack of punishment" problem. Who knows how many more she has now indirectly hurt.
