Awesome to see a new tutorial that's so in-depth and well organized. Great job on this! I've always wanted to make something like this myself, but my own production process being revealed... would get me thrown off RUclips. 😂
For any aspiring machinima directors I would say go for it. It can be so rewarding to turn your idea or story into something real. As someone who was also making machinima a decade ago and has gotten back into it, really great and in depth tutorial here with excellent tips that for sure will help a lot of people. Many aspects I haven't seen older tutorials touch on at all but are going to be so helpful for people
Been doing it for over a decade and I can definitely tell you the experience I've gathered from Machinimas definitely translates well into film-making. I absolutely recommend this to everyone looking for guidance in the creative world.
Thank you for making this informal video. I hope it is able to spark communities to create interesting content. Maybe someone can make something that can go as far as RvB did.
I grew up watching and loving movies. I've always had an interest in them. And making Halo Infinite Machinima is honestly the closest I can get to doing it. So much fun.
For recording longer video on the Xbox DVR, connect any USB 3.0 device (external hard drive, USB stick) and do NOT configure it for games but for media. On the DVR settings set it as default storage for clips and screenshots and it will allow you to record up to an hour of video, which is totally overkill for a singular machinima clip but its useful info.
Only you would wait until the art of machinima has been dead for a decade to make the most thorough tutorial on the internet for how to make machinima.
This is opposite of what you said but I like to record audio last, so that voice acting can work around the edited scene instead since it’s much easier to manipulate a conversation to fit a scene than vice versa
13:10 Not for nothing but the share button on Switch only lets you record the last 30 seconds, making it abject garbage for machinima. Good for making clips to share to Twitter and other social media sites and apps where you can only share short videos (and RUclips shorts if you can manage to change the aspect ratio) though. You can trim them in the Switch's gallery though. PS4 and PS5 have the Share Factory app to edit videos with as well. It's not the most feature-rich editor but you can put together multiple recordings, trim recordings, add premade intros and outros based on various games like FF7 Remake and a few other features. I'm not familiar with trimming videos on Xbox though as the first and last I've ever owned is an Xbox 360.
just a psa for those who play on PC and dont like using theater mode (like me) there are mods available that remove the HUD in halo 3 and reach so you can do everything live. makes everyones lives so much easier
It was a set of map mods I made specifically for Isaiah's Machinima. The mods will only work for what Isaiah intended to have for each scene. So I would have to remake the mod for a different scene or Machinima.
Thank you so much for that massive sound design folder. I'm in the process of filming new episodes of my Machinima Demolition Squad, and it has cut my production time down so much not having to pull/record in game sounds.
So I only have one question? How do I get people’s voices from clip’s? I only have an Xbox One S (Old Gen) Is there a way to get their voices without having a PC or anything like that? (I’m on the $0 budget).
@@ScribblyProductions Even with a gamepad or controller? I'm confused. I use my PS4 controller on PC except for shooters, top-down simulation games and PC style strategy games (and games that lack native controller support).
For anyone computer illiterate, things like specs to know if their computer can even run a game. Consoles are simply buy the Xbox, buy the game. Just my opinion though
Gonna comment on this because I probably would've loved this about 5 years ago Hell, to be honest I love this now, I've just found a different creative outlet at this point
@@ScribblyProductions haha not at all! Though I should've said outlet(s) I've dabbled in a lot, but I've got a pretty good handle on writing and acting, I think I'm decent to average at editing and photoshop, I used to draw every day in school, and I'm taking a sound art elective at my college But basically I'm using all that to make gaming videos until I have the time/budget for something more
@@Stewertindahouse Sorry you do need the basic ability to google things to succeed at this. Comments can be helpful but if you have a list of questions google will be quicker and more informative.

This is great! I've been doing machinima for 10+ years too and I'm still learning new things
I'm excited

42:17 Okay Screenwriter Guy.

After watching this amazing guide. I think I might get back into Machinima making. The wait for this was definitely worth it.

If you have a USB with a high storage, you can format it on your laptop and then get an hour of footage when you screen record I do it on Xbox
Hope this video pops off for you and cool new logo
Thanks! I think it looks awesome, and I'm just happy the videos finally out. I'm just glad it's available to everyone.

now that xbox can stream to discord, you can get some people on VC to see your perspective and help you record
