Out of morbid curiosity, I picked one of these up for 75 bucks on Amazon. I’ll say the only thing that was wrong with it that I saw so far was that the tolerances were not correct for the picatinny section. No matter how tight I made the wheels go. It still had a very obvious wiggle between the mount and the rail. With some “ingenuity”, I laid out a couple of layers of electrical tape at the base of the mount which seem to do the trick, I wouldn’t necessarily put my life on the mount but there could be ways to get around making it semi decent. When it comes to gun parts and accessories it’s hard for those who are tight on a budget to not see this as a viable option.

You just scared me into buying a new one. I’ve been burnt on a fake surefire light before.

Same here, I stopped buying guns products all together off amazon or eBay… Just not worth it.

Most impotend thing is how does the fake one hold up when everything is mounted and tightened, a bottle of locktite you can get everywhere :) would love to see a folow up on this.

I just purchased a scope and a SW0720…. Mine has the S logo, red loctite, but when I take the mount screws out, they are floppy. I’ve never even seen a scalar works mount in person. I hope I didn’t get ripped off🤬

@@TinkerTailorSoldier1guy online… bought a razor 1-6 and this mount. I sent the money and serial number over to Scalarworks. Hopefully, I didn’t get taken for the mount. Like I said. The screws still had red loctite on them, the logo was on the level screw. Just the hinges were slightly looser than your 08 model. I wonder if that was an updated from the 07 to 08, 09’s🤷🏻‍♂️

just bought one for $27 straight outta china has the logo on the mount screw has everything the real ones have, i would guess this to be the newest fake. i haven't found a flaw yet. maybe i got lucky, some were being sold up to $70 & one would think get the $70 one for best results but i went with the cheapest @ 27$ im glad i did. put about 500 rds through it checked it after nothing move or loosened up. but i'm sure in combat conditions as soon as it hits something hard it'll break in half. this is the real reason we pay top dollar so it doesn't break under adverse conditions.

Appreciate what you're trying to do here, but the fake you're comparing is a fake of an older Scalarworks LEAP mount model, therefore there are some indicators that don't match up creating some false positives on your test.

I'm curious if anyone mounted a scope on it ? Did it hold up under recoil and hold zero ?

i bought a fake for $27 every thing about it is tight. have about 500rds through it now didn't even loosen up. i hate to say it, i won't normally buy anything chna but there is no justification for the asking price of the original its a lot like surefire, their lights aren't that great to justify the price, it took a $300 plus purchase to find this out. if the scope mount was more reasonably priced i would have bought the real thing. but dipping into just below $500 with tax forget it, prove were not looking at a $375 markup.
