I had a blast fishing on the Cape Henlopen Fishing Pier. Met a lot of great people and got a few on their first flounder ever. What is the craziest thing you've caught off a saltwater pier? CHECK OUT THIS EPISODE -------> ruclips.net/video/irY3-tOLCMU/видео.html
I’ve been chasing after a flounder to beat my first one for the past almost forty years. We moved to Delaware in the fall of 1984. Halloween week. My dad had us at that pier that weekend. Dad got skunked, but my very first cast I caught that legendary doormat flounder! Twenty six inches of pure deliciousness! Closest I’ve caught since was twenty two, but I’m still chasing lol
That's awesome how you were helping all those people out. Put a big smile on my face!! I'm always down at Cape on the pier. I'll be on the look out for you next time! Another great video!!
Was fishing there a week ago today. My buddy Conner there kept coming over tossing right into everyone. Had to give him a kind lesson in respect and personal space. He's definitely going to be a great fisherman and still learning lessons! His mom doesn't look as burnt as she was on Friday sitting in the shadow of the light post lol.
Been going out to Massey’s every weekend, hoping to see you out there again soon, also thank you for putting me on to sabiki rigs they are a game changer
I fished that pier countless times over the last 30+ years. You never know what you are going to get. My understanding, spadefish are not common to the Henlopen but come through every now and then. Cool stuff!
You are correct on the assumption with the Spadefish. That's why I included it because of its rarity in the area. I love fishing the pier too because of that reason. Thank you for watching!
@@302FISHING Great job by the way with helping others with their rigs and unhooking their catches. Love the comradery @ the pier! I visit my parents in Lewes for a week each October and I'm anxiously awaiting the pier myself.
Been watching your videos to see what baits I should use to catch different fish because I'm going down to delaware during the summer so I can catch something bigger then spot
Heading out that way now, I’m from ny so the fishing down here is a little different we’ll see if I can merge the two styles together, weather is crap so wish me luck
@anthonymcgrane6776 I would go to henlop and bait and tackl.. They have a better selection and live bait needs... Is blood worms and minnows are good... You could drop some bunker more than likely you're gonna get a big old ray
The pier is hot or miss...I think outgoing is the best tide to fish...plan around the tides to increase your chances of a bite ot two. Thank you for watching!!

How’s the bait shop near there? And how’s bunker bait working down here? Any tips or anything I’m looking for some sort of monster if there is any

Yeah man I’m so used to blues and strippers up north a bit. I appreciate the advice and I’ll grab a little of all 3
@@anthonymcgrane6776 Tell him 302FISHING sent you
I was out there this past week on vacation and it was very slow. I only caught one flounder while fishing. We also caught a 4 ft shark.
Damn. That's a nice size shark!
Yeah it was pretty nice
if you don't mind me asking what size hook and sinker where you using during this flounder trip.
2/0 Kahle Hook
Do any snapper blues ever get caught here?
Not too often. You pretty much Have to go fishing at the Indian River inlet on the North side to get snapper blues.
What is the name of the bait shop you go to
Smith's Bait Shop in Leipsic DE
What size weight do you use at cape
1/2 to 1 oz depending on how fast the tide is
That spadefish was a weird catch. I've never seen them come inshore before.
Nor have I. That's why I included it in the episode. Thanks for watching!!
Man I’ve never caught a flounder at Henlopen despite fishing there about 5-10 times
They're right below your feet. Now you know how to catch them..Good luck! Thank you for watching!!
The crabs were eating your minnows! The pier is surrounded by them. You need to fish out farther and at incoming hi tide.
That will be my focus next time around!! Thanks for watching!
i fish there every week i never catch anything
