Anyways, last week I said I wanted to do something slower than Crazy Train, which technically this is, but that's not saying much. Having to play the solo to this while also playing the bass/percussion felt about as easy as Battletoads with one life.

Finally made my way through this, I mean I can barely play it as of right now but I at least know what I should be playing... I really appreciate the free tab, it wasn't always what was being played in the video but YT's 0.25x speed helped me change it up where I needed to (as I've certainly got no ear for these things) and it would have been impossible (or have taken forever) without the tab.
I hope this dude is alright, he used to post pretty regularly but seems to have disappeared during the pandemic...I really enjoyed getting to hear all these fingerstyle versions of metal songs I listened to loads in my youth.

Love it man, how do you learn the tabs? Trying to learn playing this kind a fingerstyle but its hard 😁
Eh if I can do it, anybody can haha. Fingerstyle covers like this are easiest to approach imo not all at once, but bit by bit. I usually start with the chords and single them out. For instance, this song is the key of Am. Most everything in a tab will revolve around that. The chorus here is Am, C, G, and E. Instead of playing those full chords, just play them as bass notes. The melody can be learned seperately and juggled on top of the bass notes, and viola, you've got it. It always takes some practice to get the hang of this process in the beginning, but I guarantee you can do it.
