What pisses me off about pro-wrestling is whenever there are people that criticize something even if it's the slightest critique, other fans or the talent themselves want to put everyone in the same group as "fickle" or bitching when not everyone thinks the same way. You're always going to have critics no matter what and it's not just in pro-wrestling. For example, it's like eating at McDonalds. I think Wendy's french fries are better than McDonalds. That's just my opinion. Another example: Here in South Carolina, I like Rush's french fries more than Zesto's. Zesto's fries are good when you first get them, then they don't taste the same (even when you heat them up.) Yuck! Rush's food is pricey, but you get your money's worth because when I get my Cheeseburger baskets, my fries are always hot coming out of the grease and I like their french fries better. Another example: I like Classic Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies shorts than SpongeBob Squarepants and Cartoon Network Teen Titans Go. Why? Because I'm entertained. No matter how many times I watch them. I remember them so vividly. Also, I think the WWE locker rooms are the biggest irascible people I've seen in my life.
Not everyone. Just the really popular ones. Roman is the most humble man in the locker room. Even though I am not a fan of the character but I respect the man.
yeah, people just expect you to be a little ass kisser and be a yes man and just go along with everything and not question it at all. but the moment one person says they didn't agree with something or they didn't like it with honest, constructive criticism those other people flip their shit. and they're like how dare you like something different! how dare you have a different opinion! well, excuse the fuck out of me for not being a robot. i'm capable of forming my own thoughts and opinions on things, thank you.
A trend with wrestlers is to insult people for criticising them then claim they can take criticism. Their fanboys and fangirls encouraging them by claiming any criticism their favourite wrestlers get is unreasonable hatred and that the wrestlers are"justifiably firing back" doesn't help matters. Painting the wrestlers as poor victims of fans who supposedly can't be pleased is pathetic. According to WWE defenders if you don't pretend even their worst segments are the best thing ever you can't be pleased.

He’s right and wrong. He’s right that there are people who complain just to complain. No matter what you do they will never be satisfied. He’s wrong for generalizing the fans and thinking that everyone thinks that way. Not everyone complains to complain. Some people have legitimate reasons not to like something. Those reasons can be very valid at times too. Sounds like he just got his feelings hurt. Oh well go cash your check.
Probably the most sensible comment I've seen this subject. Lots of "fans" are just chronic complainers, but not everyone is going to like everything you do all the time. If you can take the credit, you have to be willing to take the criticism.
Me too. Hell, Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa had the exact same match on NXT not even a week later, just with different people in it. The only reason that match was better was because the feud was better.
Oh come on Edge you just got back & you got a lot going for you, don't join Braun Strowman, Tessa Blanchard and many others in the Seth Rollins Academy of Learning how to Interview & Social Media
Yikes. Did he really say that? That's far from the truth if he did say that. I criticise WWE a lot, but I'm doing it whilst having the hope that the WWE IMPROVES, I'm not just criticising for criticism's sake. If I think a match goes too long, I can say that. To be put under a label that says "malcontent" is wrong from Edge imo. Believe me, I wanted to love the match. I LOVED the build. If I didnt watch WrestleMania, I would go out of my way to watch that match alone in full.
@@ccmcgaming327 true you got a point. I don't watch anymore and I think if people dont like the product, they should stop watching. However, you also gotta realize there are some fans that just want it to improve that's all
This is a small part of a bigger ongoing trend RN amongst people in wrestling, music, acting and other forms of entertainment. They reach a certain point in their careers and suddenly believe that everything they do is gold-standard and unworthy of any criticism.
Off topic but I thought the women's 5 way was one of the most underrated matches on both night. Bayley was great in her role, her confidence in her character is increasing, I loved the story telling with her and Sasha. Just when you think they will be a turn, they both end up helping each other but you know it will happen, you just don't know when, and the suspense will be thrilling. Also Lacey was great here, she really proved many wrong and they actually had us believe she could win tonight.
I agree with him on that point he made about the fans. There are alot of people that are so fed up with wwe its like they want to hate everything before it's happened. And when something is bad they go " see, told you"
That's because WWE's storylines are so predictable and repetitive you can usually tell what's going to happen before it happens. The reason they say "I told you so" is because there are people stupid or naive enough to say "wait and see" and give WWE the benefit of the doubt. WWE should never be given the benefit of the doubt because they'll disappoint people every time.
Edge is my favorite wrestler of all time and this hurt to listen to. These fucking WWE guys are so insecure they pull out that “fickle” card faster than a cowboy pulls out a pistol. They only care about your opinion if you kiss their ass, not try to help them improve for the next big match because you’re “just a fan and don’t know anything”🤦🏾♂️
I don't remember hearing the word fickle ever said on a WWE show before they gave Daniel Bryan a self righteous vegan heel gimmick and had him say it every few seconds. It's like Vince was a little kid excited he'd learned a new word and wanted to use it as often as he could. And now WWE fanboys call anyone who doesn't blindly like everything WWE does fickle not even knowing what it means.
Solomonster never would’ve predicted that the Undertaker would have the best match but Randy and Edge would have one of the worst Wrestlemania 25 anyone?🤔
Wish this video was called "Edge's Absurd Take on his WM Match + His Amazing Documentary". Indeed, that was such an enjoyable watch. In spite of his boring match (everyone has his/her off days), I really really loved his drive and determination shown in the WWE 24 Special.
I don't entirely blame him for what he says, there definitely are people who behave that way, the problem is he didn't need to lump everyone who didn't like the match in with those fools. The "malcontents" he's referring to are the type of people who tweet Ric Flair that his wrong kid died or still insist that Roman faked his leukemia. I'd wager the people who had legitimate issues with the match do not engage in that behaviour.
His comment comes off as if he's saying people aren't allowed to have issues with the match though. It comes off as tantrum throwing "I had a neck injury so you have to pretend my match was great or else you're evil."
Honestly, while I don’t agree with what Edge said, I can sort of understand where he is coming from. I mean with Edge you have to think, this was his 1st full official match since his major injury in 2011. His return this year was a dream never thought possible. I mean we all saw the look on his face in the Royal Rumble. Obviously, with this being his first full match back in one of the hottest storylines WWE has had in a while with one of his best buds, he is going to be sensitive with how this match was received. Do I agree with what he said? Absolutely not, but I also don’t think this is a reflection on him with some people saying that he can’t take criticism or stuff like that. I think this was just a match that was really special for him and meant a lot and when something means as much to a person as this match did, you will be a bit more reactionary when it comes to criticism
Best comment on here. Smarks are quick to pass judgment but they get their feelings hurt when someone critiques their own opinions. Look at the comment section for example
Lance The Film Guy exactly. People like to cast judgement when others are sensitive to something, but yet will react the same way when the shoe is on the other foot
The thing is...Edge is right about _some_ wrestling fans (you know the ones, Solomonster). Much like the unpleasant minority who took their dislike of the new Star Wars movies and attacked the cast more reasonable fans (or lapsed fans in my case) get lumped in with the vocal minority. Some wrestling fans are incredibly negative. But even so, this attitude of WWE wrestlers is beyond ridiculous with how thin-skinned they are.
Half the Star Wars sequel trilogy fans are insane though. Especially the Reylo shippers who sent death threats to Adam Driver's wife and kids because they think it'll force him to date Daisy Ridley and fulfil their creepy "Rey and Kylo together in real life" fantasy.
I get the wrestlers frustrations, just because they are soley thinking ‘wow I busted my ass and put my body on the line to read and hear criticism?’ What some of them fail to understand is that most fans DON’T critique the wrestlers themselves, it is the form of presentation that gets criticized. Wrestling falls under the same law that many other businesses do and that is ‘sell to the consumer’ If the consumer buys your services and dedicated their time and money for the finished product, if they do not like it, they will voice their frustration.... no different than buying a car, house, etc. and something goes wrong, people will complain to the representatives of said product.
There are some people that live on negativity, and wrestling fans that become used to seeing wwe garbage wrestling shows. But don't fans to say anything bad about it.And it shouldn't be that way.. But here we are.
With the way fans complain now a days sometimes not all the time it's hard to tell who genuinely liked something and who didn't and fans can change there mind instantly. He's the wrestler we're the fans, we can only see it from one point of view.
WWE reminds me of a Dilbert comic where The Pointy-Haired Boss had a helmet shaped like his head and used it on his employees so they have his head. To stay employed, you have to think like the boss.
These WWE wrestlers need to get off Twitter. The worst type of wrestling fans are all over Twitter shitting on everything. I think that’s most of the fan response WWE sees and they just assume Twitter is “all wrestling fans”. In fact, everyone needs to get off Twitter.
That is something I've noticed with fans or the wrestlers themselves. People will sometimes use a general consensus over a person's individual opinion.
If you’re gonna put out a product, and ask for me to pay the $9.99 a month or full PPV cost, don’t tell me I should just be grateful I got anything. I paid to be entertained. That match put me to sleep. Edge is in his 40’s coming off surgery. He needs to stay home and off my tv asking fans to cut him slack because Vince couldn’t hold off on Mania.
I agree. Friends of mine said that I should be glad we got something. After this wrestlemania has had a week to settle in I would rather have gotten a delayed event as opposed to what we were given.
Or...how bout they postpone the show for a later time...kinda like every form of entertainment is doing. Clearly they dont give a shit about the health of their employees.

One of my pet peeves with some wrestling fans is when they hate on a match solely because the wrestler they thought should have won ended up losing; for example Charlotte vs. Asuka at WrestleMania 34 which I thought was one of the best matches of that show. However, the criticisms towards Edge vs. Randy Orton at WrestleMania 36 I can completely understand, especially the length of the match.
Yea but depending on the situation that can be a valid criticism. One of the biggest examples is HHH beating Booker T at WM 19. The way that storyline was set up it made sense for Booker to win and when be didnt it really derailed his character.
Well I guess I'm one of those fans you just described because while Asuka vs Charlotte was very good, Asuka should've definitely won the title that night. What could've been the crowning achievement to Asuka's undefeated streak and RR win, instead turned into another unnecessary win for Charlotte.
It's how I feel about Sting vs. HHH. I can watch the match, but when it gets to end, *sigh*. Also, the commentary for that match is grating on the ears

I've said this a thousand times about the word "hater". We're in a place where thoughtful critique is lost in the the legitimately, purposely negative responses that seem to be the loudest of voices lately.
I don't even consider it a proper word. It's just a term made up by obsessive fanboys and fangirls to dismiss people who dislike what they like as just hating it for no reason.
I liked the match. The length didn’t bother me. The second it was over, I turned to my husband and asked what he thought. He’s like, it was a little long and dragged out. So, I guess it was a fair criticism because it was wide spread.
The build up to the match make absolutely zero sense to begin with. You build up to matches like a "last Man standing" you don't just skip to it. There has to be inconclusive results in prior matches in order for a specialty match like this one to even make sense.
I lost all respect for Paige when she lumped me in with the creeps and blamed me for the sexist content being a thing in the WWF for longer than it should have.
Her blaming the fans for not taking women's wrestling seriously in the early 2000's when it was WWE's fault for hiring models who couldn't wrestle instead of proper female wrestlers was stupid. She also blamed Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan for Liv Morgan being concussed when it was Brie Bella's fault.
@@educatedscum2957 That's because WWE can't write an actual interesting entertaining face character. As someone who did enjoy the Edge and Randy match, I gotta say this was a very stupid thing for Edge say. As much as I enjoyed that match it was by no means a perfect match, and this mentality of shutting down all criticisms as just "haters gonna hate" is just a very childish thing to do for a performer of his age and experience.
I used to think it was just young wrestlers who were whiny and had a feeling of entitlement. Its not. The age of every wrestler having a podcast has shown me that 95% of them are and were always like that. They look at fans like marks who are there to hand over there money and shut up.

Just sick of the BS in WWE where they group people together thinking that everyone thinks the same way. What Vince and WWE is failing to realize is that when you're opting to do shows in the midst of a virus, you're still prone to criticism. Besides, they somewhat winged it in the tapings because WWE lacks the inability to follow up and they opted to go on anyway. Therefore, the criticism is quite justified, regardless of the hypercritical people.

As for the match, the length itself didn't bother me. It was just a slow boring match not helped by the length. It was a walk and brawl that WWE does too much that is really boring, I think if they went the rout of the Gragano/Ciampa match and made it a little more cinematic, it would have came out better. Instead it was just two of them doing moves in silence with weak commentary. I do agree with Edge that Bret Hart's opinion carries more weight than any of us, if a wrestling legend liked his match, then I'm sure that means a lot to him more than us complaining about it.
I loved this match. the length didn't bother me and made it seem like a war between two men who legit don't like each other. had a mutually assured destruction vibe. also a shit ton of emotion in this, all the little breaks orton admiring his work, edge fighting from underneath and edge tearing up and consoling randy after finishing him off, masterclass in story telling.
Tbh this is a big reason why I don't watch WWE anymore. Everytime I see these guys crapping on their fanbase for simply having an opinion, it makes me cringe and pisses me off. Everytime someone signs with wwe, I cringe because I know they're gonna be apart of that environment that is known for insulting their fans and well paying customers. The hell with them
Little did we know what was to come because outside of the Rollins matches and the WrestleMania three way (which was more over because of Bryan), the stuff Edge has done has been terrible (the AJ match that was ten minutes too long, the slow as hell Roman match, the stuff with Miz that was a waste of time, the bad community theater promos). Compare to Christian who’s had better matches despite not wrestling as much in AEW, and has fit the role as the vet/player coach

Edge v Orton was just way too long. That match took me right out of WM that night. After that match, I went to bed and watched the rest of WM the following morning. Edge did look good, though.
I sometimes wonder if people from twenty years ago we're this petty.? I was one of the people that didn't like the main event of WM15, and I remember a lot of people didn't care for it in Mt friend circle. But, I don't remember Rock/Austin calling out the fans.

The ironic thing is that the build to the Boneyard and Firefly Funhouse matches sucked but the matches themselves were great. But the Edge and Orton match sucked despite being built up well.

I really don't get his "The Corona virus going around means you can't say my match was too long" logic. I doubt he even knows what "minuscule militia of malcontents" means. Basically calling anyone who disliked his and Orton's match a small army of "haters" is pathetic. It's the "Everybody loved what I did and only a vocal minority hated it" excuse all over again. It's like when wrestlers call fans wanting and expecting good quality shows entitlement even though it isn't.

He’s wrong for generalizing the fans and thinking that everyone thinks that way. Not everyone complains to complain. Some people have legitimate reasons not to like something. Those reasons can be very valid at times too. Sounds like he just got his feelings hurt. Oh well go cash your check.

This is a small part of a bigger ongoing trend RN amongst people in wrestling, music, acting and other forms of entertainment.
They reach a certain point in their careers and suddenly believe that everything they do is gold-standard and unworthy of any criticism.
Grade A Narcissism, Its Foul stuff
As with any Last Man Standing matches, between spots, guys are standing around just punching and getting up. However I didn't mind many of the spots.

Loving bayley right now her confidence is soaring and her shit talking is awesome 👍🏾👍🏾
I must be the only one in the world that loved the Last Man Standing match.
No I enjoyed the match of "grit"👍🏾
I think if you could make like a 15 minute cut of Edge and Orton it could be pretty great
Facts! Best comment!
Solomonster never would’ve predicted that the Undertaker would have the best match but Randy and Edge would have one of the worst
Wrestlemania 25 anyone?🤔
Preach it my man. Always like your opinions on here 👍👌
Flair’s a fraud and so is Leati
And here's the malcontent I guess.
Just because it was his first match in 9 years doesn't mean he deserved universal praise for it. He's arrogant if he thinks he did.
Exactly. I hate this idea that we can say whatever we want because we are consumers. Anyone in business knows that sometimes the customer is wrong
Exactly. Funny how some people are complaining about Edge for complaining. Circle of Criticism I guess lol

No. Miniscule Militia of Malconents is overwritten. Needs some editing. Much like his match.

Can we just give Edge a pass for this one? The match & the comments... he’s an all-time great & has been through a lot of shit
Kaque Burlington he has but don’t lump all the fans together as only wanting to speak negatively, because he couldn’t see the match was too long, boring, and repetitive.
Being an "all time great" doesn't justify saying criticism of a bad match is just complaining for the sake of it, saying people can't criticise the match because of the virus even though they can and are and pulling the "only a vocal minority hated the match" excuse out of his ass. So no we can't. You fanboys justifying shitty things wrestlers do and say in real life because you like their characters on TV is half the reason why they're the way they are.
@@Xehanort10 I doubt he is a fanboy just for asking a question.
@@lancethefilmguy9392 Saying "ignore what he said because I like him and he's been through a lot boo hoo" is fanboy talk.
Less fake punching and moaning , more WRESTLING
Edge went from coming out to Rob Zombie to becoming Rob Zombie.
But he doesn't feel so good but he does so feel bad
So is Edge going to start making films where everyone's a bearded hillbilly then?
12:45 the best WWE 24 documentary
I look at this match then go watch champas and Johnny's match and I have to agree they match was dull and lil too long could been alot better with lil less
The Ciampa vs Gargano match was longer than Edge vs Randy. Lol.
I believe the match would’ve been better if it wasn’t for the rona virus. If they would’ve had a regular match I bet it could’ve been one of the best matches on the card. It would’ve worked cause of the build up and the story they would’ve told.
All world events have stopped but wrestling the show will go on no matter what I respect that
Edge heel turn incoming.....
whiny fans will boo him because another wrestler doesn't take shit fixed it
