Graduating from a Swiss apprenticeship allowed me to achieve following successful career path. With diploma in hand I was hired and trained to install and service machine tools at customers facility. Later I was assigned by my employers to their US facility. Then I was hired by a large US connector manufacturer as manufacturing engineer. After an internship in Switzerland I was promoted to Senior Manufacturing Engineer responsible for over 100 machine tools. A few years later I found a partner to start my own precision machining facility which I sold 21 years later to concentrate my efforts as a machinery dealer. I am blessed to have found my calling as machinist over sixty years ago and now share my good fortune with young people aspiring to be metalworking experts as volunteer NIMS board member.
Hi paul, it's amazing and inspiring to know about your journey.. I am also interested in getting VET from Switzerland. I am having difficulty in finding the right information portal about all the stuff and requirements for international students. Can you guide a little bit about the process of getting in to such program or mention any official or good website or platform to get direction. Hope to see a humble and guided reply. Thanks
