    Sorry for everyone who commented on the earlier video. I just really didn't want a typo in this video and it was bothering me all night. I should have done it right away, but thought I could live with it when I couldn't.
    The other video is still up, but unlisted. I didn't want to delete any comments. Sorry again for the inconvenience.

      @@prosaic.7944 Holy shit, of course, Lulu. I know her well enough, she just hasn't come to my mind when I wrote the comment. But yeah, she has an incredibly calm and serene voice, and I... actually think she might not even able to scream? I also have a deep respect for her since one of her quotes is what stuck with me the most since I discovered Vtubers these past few months, which was something on the lines of "For me playing videogames is a reward". It sounds pretty corny, but for people like me (us?) who were born in a first-world country, being able to play whenever I wanted since I was a child, always taking it for granted, I think it represents something to keep constantly in mind.
      I know it's mostly a meme, but even if people consider her to be stupid, I think that kind of philosophy displays a level of wisdom and levelheadedness not very common for people her age.

    How I see this story so far:
    -Watame's grandma was very strict with her daughter;
    -Her daughter, Watame's mother, becomes very rebellious, ends up pregnant at a very young age and neither her nor him are ready for it;
    -Gradma sees her mistakes, feels responsible and decides to quit her job and take care of Watame herself. Thus trying to redeem herself and fix her previous mistakes through Watame.
    -Watame getting the short end overall and has a hard time, but thanks to that she grows up in a wonderful person.
    Or not...

      He was young and unable to provide for a child, if you don't feel confident in your abilty to be a parent, you shouldn't try to be one. There is a lot of stuff that comes with having a child, and we don't know his full reasons, and we know very little of the circumstances, so I think you are being a little bit unfair by just making a snap judgement like that.
      There is always a case where a child would do better being raised in an orphanage or foster home than with biological parents who are unable to care for them. For some being raised in an orphanage or with foster families is a happy childhood, while being raised by one;s biological parents is a childhood of hell on earth.
      Is it responsible to raise a child if you cannot provide for them? if you cannot care for them? what if its going to destroy your life to raise them? what if you are likely to naglect or otherwise abuse them? Just because you've made a baby doesn;t exactly mean you are the most fit to have the baby in your custody.
      For such a ssituation, it might be better for both paent and child to place the child in a hime that can at least provide for them on a basic level, than it would be to keep the child when you cannot provide even that to them. In such a case, it's not irresponsible, but responsible to do so.

      @@EVERYVERSER You do not make a baby in the first place if you can't provide anything to them. Saying "I'd rather send my child to an orphanage" IN FRONT of your child is shitty behaviour and shows you do not care about them. Man straight up said "just send her to an orphanage, I don't care" instead of discussing with the mother in private and then discussing something like that together with the child which shows that he didn't think it was necessary and didn't think it would be mentally damaging for the child to hear something like that from her own FATHER FFS. You can justify him all you want but the truth is he is not a good parent nor is he a responsible one....

      I recently made some content about it somewhere. I use the butterfly effect (in chaos theory) to explain why regret is a lie and mistakes are unique lessons that shape you into who you are now
      When we regret things, we create a random (false) connection between one individual decision in the past and our current situation, like saying yes instead of no would have made everything perfect, when in reality there are a million little decisions and interactions that feed off of each other, and the particular route that we each take gives us the unique perspective we have on things
      Like, learning what not to do is often way more valuable than learning what to do, coz that usually only works out when nothing goes wrong (which it often does). It's what interesting storytelling is all about

    4:32: "There's still a longing after all,
    when I see a child walking between their Mom and Dad,
    holding both their hands"
    Basically, I think she means when she sees a child holding hands with and walking happily between their parents, she longs for that sometimes, since this is something she might never got to experience as a child...
    I hope all her suffering she's gone through continues to pay off. ;_;
    Thanks a lot for translating these!! There's so much gems during these small moments in each VTuber, and all translation efforts are one step closer to bringing them and fans worldwide together. :)

      That's why parenting is so important, both to build character & set a good example, it's largely overlooked in education and by adults and then there's a chain of bad influence (to gravely oversimplify things)
      A personal note: don't think of LOVE as the answer to whether you should marry someone or not, love is a high that can lead to bad decisions & can wear off over time. A good marriage is about commitment & compatibility, things that it seems most couples don't discuss until after they're married unfortunately :/

    I guess children growing up with an uninvolved parent is more painful than when they both are dead. I grew up in orphanages and it was the best time of my life even if I never had any paternal figures in my life. This must be the difference in what children value the most growing up. I was told that normal children wanted to feel loved and accepted but I never cared about that. I only cared about satisfying my curiosity.
