Thank you, Mark, for realizing that no living, breathing woman would actually go anywhere with someone like Wilson. Therefore he can't possibly be the bad guy, he's too obvious. It's the writers we can't trust at this point.
Ikr! XD I was thinking the same. I would feel deeply uncomfortable with someone who kept calling me such a pretty/good girl. Old guys like that tend to get a little weird and sappy, especially if they have grandkids, so they say odd stuff like him. But never multiple times in the same conversation, and never with such a high rating on my creep-o-meter.

Apparently the game devs had no good way to integrate it so they just baited the player to go towards it and pick it up like it's a collectable, and then spontaneously punch it with no explanation for an upgrade.

@@mkitsie1780 you can sorta connect it to a arc in a comic book. An arc is sort of like a portion of the story that is dedicated to a certain thing and after that thing is finished you move onto a new arc in the story.
I love the call out "there you go little guy only 800 frames to go" the time effort that goes into animation is outrageous but the love and affection that goes into them is what get you though it. The line encapsulates the animators mind set perfectly.
And then you hear an animator tell you that 800 frames is only about 30 seconds of animation.... ((cries in student😂)) /lh

If you rewind the video you will see that Mark actually clicks the button 2 times. First he disabled it and with second click enabled the subtitles again.

I call it the Odd Thomas Effect, named after Odd Thomas (back before Dean Koontz went off the deep end). Mark can see a supernatural entity (ghost, demon, animated Lixian), and though he is unable to hear them, they can hear him and attempt to communicate with him. "The dead don't talk. I don't know why."
Lixian is such a good editor for giving flashing light warnings to those with epilepsy. Not only that, but gives conformation when the flashing lights are gone. He really is the editor of all time.

When I heard Kay Lee's voice at 53:17, I immediately recognized her as Lani Minella, the voice actress who voices Nancy in the Nancy Drew PC games! The fact that she sounds annoyed having to give you such an obvious hint is such a good reference!

I know other people have said this, but it is so impressive that Mark ended on Late Night Mop in order to make that banter seem like it actually happened. Honestly, sometimes I can't tell if they are coordinating or Lixian is just the best editor of all time, and they have a great dynamic, lol

Mark is the only let's player I've seen who not only wastes all his health regen items immediately, but then proceeds to save afterwards so he'll never have any chance to use them when he needs to.
He saved in a different slot, so it's not _irreversible._
To me that shows the game developers still haven't learned to be more explicit with it's game mechanics, which was a fault in the previous game. Sure, there's a tiny health bar that tells you when you need to fill it, but they can't expect him to know he'll be back in that area later & he should save it. It wouldn't have been that ridiculous for them to add a warning/blip that, if the health bar is full, tells the player they're full & not use up the food item.

I am just analyzing it from a game design standpoint, for people other than Mark, like someone new to this type of game.

I can imagine Mark in a horror scenario just making a bunch of loud noises and talking to the things/people trying to kill him yet somehow miraculously still making it out alive.

I get Mark analysis of Wilson now because of the 'the find me' part, he seems more trapped then dangerous in that situation, when I watched Cory's play through, my first impression of Wilson, he came off creepy and dangerous, as a woman, he made me skin crawl. I think the notes from “your best pal” are from Henry Stein, aka who you play in BATIM. I’m pretty sure the Joey Drew bio in the beginning of this chapter mentioned Henry as his partner, and I think in BATIM the signed photo says “your best pal, Henry Stein”. I could be wrong about the phrasing, but I think the notes being from Henry makes sense as he sorta went through a similar experience as Audrey.
