I just discovered your channel, so this is my first video to watch. Your little girl is just the cutest!! And she is an awesome eater. I wish my daughter liked veggies lol 😁 I'm just curious how old Nate is. Have you ever watched A Peek Inside here on RUclips? Her name is Darlene and she's in Canada. She has a 17 yr old son who has non-verbal autism and a lot of her videos are showing meal prep for him.
I think kids are naturally born intuitive eaters and will stop when they are full for the most part. I feel like if I require her to "clean her plate" before dessert, it may encourage her to eat past that fullness. So, I just make her have some of everything and then she can have her dessert. :)
Gotta love getting creative with those lunches for our autistic kiddos. I am however grateful that my son (whose 6) with autism does pretty well with varieties for food. But when it comes to proteins it can be tricky. Usually a switch up between ham and pepperoni slices but sometimes that’s even a no go. A lot of trial and error..but some days he surprises and tries all kinds of something new. Hoping to get some better ideas for next year for school! Lol
Love your videos ❤️ watching these videos helped me make better breakfasts and lunches for my 3 year old. I started giving him little divided plates with lots of variety and now he eats more and tries more!
It’s like a mini convection oven basically. I haven’t made homemade French fries yet, but I love everything I’ve ever tried in it. It make everything super crispy.
I have a suggestion for you regarding Nate's yogurt. To keep it cold, try putting it in one of those silicone cupcake liners you have and freeze it overnight. Put it in his lunchbox in the morning and by lunchtime it should be thawed for him to eat. I used to do that with my kids (neither are autistic, but did have sensory issues with food) and it worked like a charm. Though it may depend on his lunchtime. But when my kids were I Kindergarten, they had a fairly early lunchtime (10:30), but they always said it was perfect..
Have you tried heating up the thermos and then putting the quesadillas or chicken nuggets in them!! This will help keep them Warm and not soggy my sister does this for her daughter and it works great!!! I’ve been binging the lunch videos!.🌷

Thanks so much! Yes, I love Darlene. I have followed her since the beginning of her channel.
Lucy is just the cutest! Do you encourage Lucy to stop eating when she is full, so she can learn intuitive eating right from the start?

Yes! That’s how it is with Nate too! He will just try things on his own timing. You are doing a great job, Mama!
on top of the yogurt you should put a few sprinkles
That’s a cute idea, but he hates sprinkles! Haha. He’s a mess! 😜
Great lunches ideas.
Thanks! :)
Does Nate like the protien pancakes?
Not so far. He's so weird with textures and doesn't like any kind of homemade fluffy pancake. Only the flat ones from the freezer. Ugh.

They are so dangerous! I really want to try the Hot & Spicy, but I buy the ones the kids like because I could so eat the whole box!

Thanks, Haylee! We have tried that and the steam from the hot food really makes it soggy. Nate is really sensitive to textures, though! :)
Blessed Jess sure no problem I forgot I add we wrap them in foil and put them in the thermos!! I totally understand l
