The way you used the common planner and the daily pages is the reason I decided to go with it for 2024. I use the dailies for journaling and some days I needed a half a page and some days I needed more than one. As much as I loved the Hobonichi, the colors, quotes and a page a day was hindering what I needed. Thank you for all your videos and sharing all that you do. I know it's not easy sometimes.
I LOVE the common planner. 💜It's business in the front and party in the back. As a previous bullet journaler, it gives the structure you need to get your ish done, but the freedom to write as much or as much (never too little 😅) as you need to at any given time. That's why I bought a second B6 notebook in addition to the planner, in case i have some writing spillage 🤭🫣
😂😂😂 I love the "business in the front and party in the back" 😂 There is no shame in extra notebook to write in!! I have an A5 notebook to match with my Common Planner haha
I used both B6 and A5 all year last year and never had any binding issues. A lot of the people I saw that did had heated their spine with a hair dryer, tried to cut out pages or added like 1000 tipins at the front on the paper cover which wasn’t strong. I always do logs/collections from the back forward then dailies etc from the front back. Prevents issues with not having enough space.
My spine was really curved from using it in a TN but when I stopped using that cover I just cut a piece of thin cardboard and slipped it in the plastic cover and that worked great!
The common planner is a planner. She also sells notebooks that are just notebooks like any other tomoe River paper notebook except with her covers/gilding. But those are notebooks not actually the Common Planner. The Common Planner is a true planner with goal setting pages, quarterly tracking pages, monthly spreads and weekly spreads. And then after that blank undated grid pages you can use how you like. Some journal, some use as dailies, some use for commonplace, some use for doodles. Some a combination. This one being shared was undated but it’s still a planner. She offered undated in some sizes in 2023. For 2024 they have dated planner options in 6 different sizes and some come in more than one style (horizontal and vertical).
Think of it as a structured notebook. It has planning pages for half of it, and the second half is a blank space or grid notebook to use for whatever you like. I like to see it as combining a blank notebook with a planner all in one :)

Great tips as always!! I'm so glad Catherine came out with so many options this year 💖

You’re literally the reason I pulled the trigger on getting this planner. Mind you I never used a planner before. Love watching you 🎀
💝💝💝 Thank you so much!! 💝💝💝💝 I love this planner, it is the perfect balance of structure and freedom 😌
Ooo those blank monthly pages could be used for 30 inks 30 days. Not sure if you do that.
Great idea!! I do like to do those 😊
I'm so confused about the common planner. Like.... how is it any different from a blank grid-line notebook?
