I don't usually comment on stuff but... the original is an (electro?) rock song, and yet she's able to transform it into such a mellow tune! Such a talent. This is covering songs at a higher level.
If anyone wants to know I'm fairly sure this is taken from a bbc radio 1 live lounge cd. I have it somewhere and I remembered this song so I decided to look for it and here I am! Thanks for uploading this :)
I love the original song (because I love Editors) but this cover is really good!!! It sounds really like Corinne Bailey Rae and that's the best part. Great song! Great cover!
This song is going to sound in my heart forever. Her melody, her voice and her lyrics are totally amazing. That's like a whisper in my ear, something that I would like to hear all the time! :) (sorry, I'm not very good in english yet.. I'm spanish xD)
It is true that it is a cover of the Editor's song. But this version is so softer and fits so well with Corinne Bailey Rae's voice that it looks like a brand new song
I love both versions, I didn't even know she had done a cover of this. Makes sense considering she was in a punk band for awhile. They are two completely different versions fo the same song though and shouldn't be compared at all.
@holdencaufield200 Wow, I guess you're right, in a way. She sings for people, life...and reaches to touch our very inner beings, Holden Caulfield, as I recall how I imagined him, had a very unique, frantic, almost desperate view of the world that surrounded him, you see I red Catcher in the rye right in the middle of my teenage years, and it's been lurking around in my mind ever since, Corinne's songs really are making me see how fragile it all is, she sings like she cherishes something...
I actually like her version BETTER than The Editors. Don't get me wrong, I like The Editors, but this is outstanding, and rarely can someone improve on a song when covering it. Sort of like the unplugged version of "nineteen" by Tegan & Sara although it isn't a cover, its better than the studio version when played acoustically.
@dbo514 Thanks, not suprised that someone who knows of or has read the classic's are drawn to Corinne. Intellegence and depth of character are usually the traits of her fans.
@holdencaufield200 Great comment, and I love that your youtube User ID is named after the boy from Catcher in the Rye. Timeless book. RIP J.D. Sallinger. And yes, Corinne Bailey probably as the most unique voice i've heard in recent years.
@holdencaufield200 the first one was due to the ironic nature of your mistake, if you had a sense of humour you might have gathered that. Petty is your correcting of the word yes. Downright rude is what your last comment is, there's nothing trolling about my comment, but that says more about you than it does me. Oh and seeing as we're here altruism is the unselfish concern for another's well being, the word you're looking for is complimentary. As for wonder comment...hmmm. Stop trying so hard ;)
@jkino78 Thanks mr. or mrs. correctall, I'll take my altruistic comments and the other wonder comments on this page instead of your petty comment and any subsequent comments that you may have any day......... If you are a CBR fan, please vote down his or her trolling comments once again so that the page of this wonderful artist can remain unblemished. Thanks.
Can't believe this is the only video / audio available anywhere online. Thankyou 😊😊😊
I still get the same feeling like I did when I first heard this song in 07.lovely voice.Great cover.
I LOVE when the guitar starts walking😍. It adds such a nice rainy day kinda feel that I can’t explain, but I adore it!

Great cover.. I love the original and this version has its own beautiful interpretation.
Love it
Never a cover is better than the original, but it doesn't mean that can't be good.
Lovely, seen her last year at Hard rock calling London, she was superb.
I definitely agree. I love this song in camparison to the original.

Playing this after a bout of indigestion and heartburn at 5am, Calm after the storm
We live the same life

people are fragile things you should know by now careful what you put them through ..
i love your voice !
I'm so glad I found this %) really!
yhea of course, she covered it!
i like this cover. i like the original version. now is everyone happy? : )
Overly good like the original version no doubt.
@iLOVEjoyDivision yeah i think i know what you mean...chorus didn't retain the same kinda 'tone' as the original right? still love this version tho.
She reminds me of Michael Franks
Richard Adesakin Lady Wants to Know.
Where can I find chords or an instrumental for this song?
The line is 'People are fragile things', although I don't know what you mean by 'I hate to chourus' ...???!!
@jkino78 Thanks for the compliment.
I really wish I could find the chords for this version...
That title......?
@holdencaufield200 yeah no worries ;)
pulled it out
@jkino78 *yes, no worries :)
@holdencaufield200 yeah is not a mistake, it's informal. "Intellegence" is (quite) a mistake and in the context, quite ironic. Bye now
