Thank You for sharing your experience. We just had our Kid Buckling at the Vet early this morning, we are treating our sweet fella for Polio/ thiamine deficiency. He is definitely struggling. We are praying 🙏 he responds quickly and is up and going like your sweet Kat very soon. Thank You for sharing your information. GOD BLES! Your goat friends in the ❤ of Missouri

Do they get a temp ever thru process?
Also does it happen to more than one or just the one ?

Great questions, Amber! We always monitor the temperature of our animals any time they are sick. An unusual rise in temperature can indicate the presence of infection. “Polio” in goats is not caused by a viral or bacterial infection. It is usually caused by an imbalance of nutrients. “Polio” in goats can however by accompanied by a high fever, especially if the condition progresses.

Humans need thiamine too! Alcoholics can have severe thiamine deficiency which also causes neurologic symptoms!
