  • The world of Jehovah's Witnesses has been rocked by news emerging from the group's Annual Meeting that rank and file believers are no longer required to tell elders monthly how much time they spend preaching.

Damn rights.. Cause they can't backpedal or weasel their way out of this hole anymore now as much as they will try. No turning back now. Can't be anymore obvious or evident to the masses still, unless the majority of members are willfully blind and continuing to do so in their blind obedience. But even with all this backpedaling by this man made mandate of constant member tracking, reporting, and record keeping, as their entire foundation of keeping control on everyone, it is and will be backfiring, I gather there will still be no apology either.

They stopped their door to door activity during lockdowns for obvious reasons, and I guess many simply didn't fancy going back to being made to feel like an utter reject by pretty much every household, so society shifted to stands only where they still can preach without being told to get lost. I think that's why active preaching is not compulsory anymore because after two year break not many JWs are keen on spending their Saturday morning on dragging people out of bed after their wild Friday night. What a chore that was. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Totally agree. Its not the organisation I grew up in, and for some reason (even though I left years ago) I can't explain why, but I'm slightly sad about that. Maybe its because the people who I knew as a child who worked so hard at Twickenham in the old days were twice the calibre and most now are long dead. They really thought they were doing God's work and their certainly was more tolerance and love amongst the people i knew however misguided.
All the WBTC seem interested in now is money, real estate, being on the telly and TV evangelism and being minor celebrities.
The way they have tantamount robbed hard working congregation members of their halls is beneath contempt.

@@bennypagesaunders6895 Yes absolutely. The elder I studied with in the early '90s died in '95 of cancer and when I visited him in the hospital he held my hand and said if he'd known the system would last this long he'd have done many things differently. I didn't ask him what he meant. Years later in 2017 when my own father was in hospital dying of cancer (terrible thing) he said much the same that he'd been thinking of things he did in life, things he didn't do and things he should have done. Both of them had deep regrets. They'd followed the Watchtower faithfully and it left them bereft. So sad.

@@frankbray9416 I'm really sorry to hear that. It really does make me wonder. I have often reflected on exactly what the ultimate purpose is. My father would say 'it is to make disciples of Jesus '.
I like to think the best of people, but I worry when I hear that Stephen Lett is a millionaire.
It seems to me to be almost a self -perpetuating machine fed by the financial contributions, which will continue as long as the funds are there.
In England there is an old joke that younger Witness couples serve 'where the need is great' because time is running out, and "Armageddon is 'just around the corner;'" Older Witness couples move to the West Country where their need is greater, because their time is running out.
It shows to my mind that many take the GB rhetoric with a pinch of salt. Either don't really deep down believe it or just maybe hope that God will sort it out.
I reckon older people in the Witnesses secretly believe they might get a heavenly reward. Who knows eh?

From Truth to Trash; 100+ years of doctrinal ’truth’ simply dismissed with the wave of a fat pinky ring finger !
All the reasons, justifications and emphasis for counting time as brought out in various publications, such as in the ‘Organized’ book, for over 100 years is now obsolete ? ! !
Publishers have always been scrutinized, judged, evaluated as to their standing, their spirituality, according to their field-service time.
The Elders and CO’s recommendations for MS’s and Elders appointments was based in large part on whether a brother was meeting the field-service hour requirements. In many instances Low-hour / Single-digit publishers have been judged as being spiritually weak, made to feel guilty and held at arms length for not fulfilling national average expectations.
One’s who may have balked at having to record and report their time and voiced their sentiments as to it just being between themselves and God , have been harshly criticized and were viewed with suspicion of having ‘apostate’ leanings. All these exjws (I’m amongst their number) getting upset and angry; the anger would be most appropriately directed towards themselves firstly for believing in any invisible deity at all who’s judging them and then towards the gb and others in the hierarchy of this cult of crap.
No one forced anyone to become a member, and don’t start whining about peer pressure or family pressure, etc.
Every so-called christian religion/cult is discussing the minute implications of vagaries in the buybull, which is a book of fables (plus some admittedly decent guidelines for behavior) based upon ancient beliefs from cultures much older than those verses. It’s all moot, as if the placement of a comma, or some other smudge in the ancient scrolls means anything at all 😂… time to grow up, children 😅!

How will they then reach out to those who were victims of this wretched policy? With apologies?? What explanation can they possibly conjure up that would mitigate all the pain caused? Will they admit that they were wrong? Those of us hurt by this unnecessary and hateful practice would likely be unmoved. Modify the policy? Maybe, but the same blowback will likely occur.

There were some other things in this annual meeting that caught my eye as well. That talk about the timeline of the tribulation seemed like they’re backing off more from claiming they have all the answers. The statement “we don’t know” came up repeatedly.
As far as not turning in time goes they played a clip outlining the history of turning in time. If memory serves me turning in time goes back to the year 1920. So let’s see if I understand this, it took 103 years for that “new light” to reach the GB? But these guys are god’s representatives on earth and Jehovah f’s with them by giving them wrong information and 103 year later it’s “sorry guys, just kidding”.
This religion, the 144,000 doctrine and everything that comes with it was more believable in 1974. At least that’s my excuse for getting converted. That and in retrospect probably a few too many hits of acid before becoming a JW.

This overlapping generation is "not excessively long" and "it has an end." Oooooh, can't wait to read the G.B.'s explanation of the failure of THIS prophecy!

You could say you have talked to a work colleague or neighbor, who can disprove it?
If I was still a Witness, of be thinking "thank fuck for that, I don't have to go witnessing any more" and just tick the box while staying at home. I think many will do the same.

I hope you're making more videos on this year's 'new light' because I hear there's more mind blowing stuff like the fact that they are relaxing the understanding of when people can 'repent'.

Well, I've thought for a long time now that Witnesses having to report the number of hours then spend evangelizing was ridiculous. So, in a way I guess I can feel happy that those Witnesses who are not serving in the Pioneer or missionary ranks don't have to do that anymore. I will say that it's rather naïve to expect that your rank-and-file Witnesses will stop proselytizing just because they're no longer required to report the number of hours they spend preaching in public. The indoctrination still runs very deep regardless, and that fact should not be ignored by those of us in the ex-Jehovah's Witness community.
Many Witnesses will probably, if I had to guess, see this a sign that Armageddon is "fast approaching", and that "Jehovah" has His reasons for no longer having the lower-ranking members of the earthly realm of his kingdom report the hours they spend in their public ministry. They'll see this as a "divine" practical reason of some sort rather than a decision that came about as the result of debate that was engaged in solely through human minds. Maybe now some Witnesses won't have to be racked with guilt because of what Tight-Pants Tony Morris III said about Witnesses having "blood on their hands" if they're not out preaching as regularly as the Society wants them to.
Oh, and by the way, Anthony Morris III, for every child that was sexually abused in your denomination who took their life during your time as a Governing Body member because they weren't able to deal with the abuse and never got to see their victimizer brought to justice, for every Witness who has died over refusing a blood transfusion as a result of your denominational policy during your reign as a Governing Body member; For every Jehovah's Witness during your time as a Governing Body member who martyred themselves when undergoing religious persecution under the Society's encouragement at the hands of a dictatorial government, for every LGBT Witness who has taken their life because they can't reconcile their sexual orientation or gender identity with their religion, for every doubting Witness during your time as a Governing Body member who couldn't reconcile their doubts with their faith who fear that they will be punished by God and feel that it would be better to - according to a popular Christian expression - "lay their burden down" by ending their lives; and for every ex-Witness who was shunned by their Witness loved ones during your time as a Governing Body remember that chose to take their own life because they couldn't handle being estranged form their Witness family and friends -- the policies you helped to uphold may have been a factor in this people's deaths, so where does your responsibility, knowing that you're upholding and enforcement of certain policies may have helped add to their misery?
What about the blood of these people that has been shed over the difficulties of reconciling their experiences with their faith or their doubts as a result of policies that you helped to craft or endorsed when you were a Governing Body member? They're still dead. They haven't been resurrected from the grave and we have no way of knowing if they happily exist in some ethereal realm somewhere. As far as we know, they are no more. Their hopes, dreams and potential are gone. Everything they were...is now gone. They no longer have their lives, and you do. Remember that while you go about living your day-to-day life. I hope you go to your grave thinking about these people because many of them are no longer with us as a result of the policies that you chose to enact or to uphold. I hope the memory of these people's deaths and their mortal pain haunt you every day for the rest of your natural life.

I think it's a good decision. I have always thought that this mandatory preaching is counter-productive and that its net effect is negative in most developed countries. What I mean is that the number of people who leave or do not become Jehovah's Witnesses because of the need to preach is higher than the number of people that are converted as a result of the field service. The change has been overdue and there is no point in forcing everyone to preach.
The field service was probably more effective in the past but it has become useless now. I am quite surprised at people who say that this change is an insult to those who reported their hours in the past. Things have changed, and the Watch Tower Society has reacted to that change.
I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness but I was never baptized. I think it did have a negative impact on my life but I don't feel any hate towards Jehovah's Witnesses and I don't really see why people have to be so hostile.
This change is definitely an improvement for many Jehovah's Witnesses, who won't have to feel any pressure about achieving a random target of doing 10 hours of field service a month. That's the most important thing in my opinion.

There was a census taken for the nation of Israel 3 times.
There were only 2 times that God - YHWH ordered a census:
    1) Numbers: 1:1-54 - 2:34; 3:1-49 states that God told Moses to take it and to use it to place the Israelites in a specific formation.
    2) Numbers: 26:1-63 states that God again told Moses to take another census, this time for dividing land amongst themselves.
    3) 1 Chronicles 21:1-28 states that King David ordered a census WITHOUT God's approval.
God saw it as "evil" and punished David AND the nation of Israel SEVERELY because of it.
Therefore, if these Governing Body members, whom they arrogantly refer to themselves as ,
"G.O.D.s" (Guardians Of Doctrine... I'm not making this up) were so inspired by holy spirit, and truly 'guarded the doctrines' of God, why is it, do you think, that for so many years, they forced the "publishers" (JWs who spread the JW literature and doctrines to potential new recruits) to count time on that work?
Also, why is it, that those socalled 'inspired governing body' members also included counting the number of people who attended ANY kind of meeting - AND - counting the NUMBER OF WITNESSES in the entire organization??????
If they were so inspired and so well read in the Bible, WHY, do you think, they ignored the Bible's accounts, hence, warning about doing so??????
These are a mere fraction of the "evil" deeds that JW leaders were/are guilty of before the MOST HIGH GOD they claim to represent.

Tony Morris claiming that God sees blood on the hands of those who don’t warn others is infuriating.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you struggle to understand Watchtowers thinking look no further than the God they claim to worship and serve.
The God they serve will one day run out of patience and literally murder those that haven’t repented and linked up with Jehovah’s Witnesses. Furthermore, the JW’s that didn’t adequately warn others of this reckoning will suffer the same fate.
If this isn’t dishonoring our God and Father by reducing Him to the level of a grudge carrying human I don’t what would be.
Stay tuned for talks highlighting the obligation to participate in the preaching because now that you don’t report hours it will be an even stronger indicator of your sincere desire to ‘serve Jehovah’ because now you’re doing it without human pressure.

FREEDOM of ATHEISTS to SLANDER the CREATOR
      All Atheists
are free to oppose and defy what were written in Matthew 22: 37 and John 17: 3
that the Creator is the True and Sovereign God.
Atheists are free to insult and slander the Creator as worthless, useless and undeserving to be honored and respected as the True and Sovereign God
FREEDOM of RELIGIONS to SLANDER and INSULT the CREATOR and HIS CHRIST
Jehovah's Witnesses, ex- JWs, Mormons, SDAs, Born Again Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and fanatics of all kinds of Religions in the world who freely and willingly chose to worship the Father of Lies and Murderer of Human beings and believe the teachings of the Pastors and Leaders of Religions about "Armageddon", "Trinity", "heaven and hellfire", "rapture", and "reincarnation"
      are
free to slander and insult the Creator and Jesus Christ as worthless, useless, and undeserving to be honored and respected and free to reject too the teachings of Jesus Christ about the "Kingdom of God" and "Resurrection of the Dead" as worthless and useless, no value whatsoever in their lives and existence
FREEDOM of the CREATOR to REWARD and HONOR all FOLLOWERS of HIS CHRIST
All persons on earth who freely and willingly chose to honor and obey the Creator as their loving, kind, and merciful God and Heavenly Father in obedience to what were written in Matthew 22: 37 and John 17: 3 and believe the authority and teachings of Jesus Christ about the "Kingdom of God" and "Resurrection of the Dead" in their obedience to what were written in Matthew 28: 18, Luke 4: 43, and John 11: 25. 26
      will
be freely, willingly, and happily honored and rewarded by the loving, kind, and merciful Creator with ETERNAL LIFE and existence without sufferings, pains, griefs, sickness, and death on a safe and peaceful earth without liars, deceivers, slanderers, traitors, perverts, and murderers as written in Revelation 21: 3, 4, 8.
FREEDOM of JESUS CHRIST to RESURRECT BACK to LIFE all WORSHIPPERS of the CREATOR
All human beings have no immortal souls and just become worthless and useless dusts on earth after their deaths just like the animals as written in Ecclesiastes 3: 19, 20 ; 9: 5, 6
      but
loving, kind, and respectful worshippers of the Creator who died recently and thousands of years ago like Abel, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Job, Naomi, Ruth, King David, Jesus Christ's disciples and followers, and many others will not remain as worthless and useless dusts on earth forever, instead,
in the Creator's right and proper time and as written in John 11: 25, 26,
Jesus Christ will freely, willingly, and happily RESURRECT them back to life so they can all happily and abundantly live and exist on earth forever as submissive and obedient subjects of the "KINGDOM of GOD"
and fully enjoy his and the Creator's eternal love, kindness, goodness, compassions, generosities, favors, and blessings for eternity under his loving and kind rulership, guidance, and protection as the Creator's Chosen King and Ruler of the heavens and the earth as written in Revelation 11: 15.

I would largely agree. And I think that's a fairly reasonable conclusion to come to. The proselytizing activities of the Witness faith are certainly going to continue. To think otherwise, would be naïve.

Yes, atheists are free to oppose and defy anything that's written in the Bible, and they have the freedom to defy your Creator's wishes for them, but when did we need your permission or your God's permission to do so. Also, why would Jehovah's Witnesses, Latter-day Saints (Mormons), Seventh-day Adventists, and Born-Again Christians slander or insult God and Jesus when they're all Christians? And how do they worship the "father of lies" according to your point of view? Because of the belief in Armageddon, Hell, Heaven, the Trinity, the Rapture and reincarnation...that's "devil worship" to you? Laugh out loud.
Even LaVeyan Satanists don't literally believe in or worship the devil. They don't even have the same view of him that Abrahamic religions do. There are some sects of Satanism who believe in and worship the devil, but even some of them have a different interpretation of his character than the tradition one subscribed to by Christians, Jews and Muslims. Who, among religious folk -- Christian and non-Christian alike -- are worshipping "the murder of human beings"? I've never known any Christians, Jews (both religious and non-religious), Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Wiccans, Satanists or Scientologists who worship the concept of murder. I don't know any atheists or agnostics who think that way either. I don't know of any religious folk who worship the idea of unlawfully taking a human life over what would be considered as an unjust cause.
Because all of these other religious folks that you don't like just so happen to believe in the teachings of their religious leaders, these people are somehow "celebrating murder" because they don't adhere to your theology, to your own personal interpretation of the Bible because you think that everyone who doesn't believe in your theology is going to be annihilated during the Second Coming. That's probably one of the most asinine, and frankly, dumbass ideas I've ever heard.

@@b.w.7588 And I agree with your assessment that the preaching will continue.
And if you are correct then what remains to be seen is how this new dynamic works itself out in the congregations. Jehovah’s Witnesses are largely defined by their participation in this public activity, both by the world at large and within the congregation itself.
Will the suspension of the obligation to report ‘time’ result in more or less preaching activity? Remains to be seen.
And how will this change affect the view individual members have of each other? Despite Watchtower’s incessant admonitions to not judge others their whole philosophy rests on the adverse judgement of everyone and everything. To the point where it’s hard to imagine them any other way.
So, when this ‘gauge’ (individual service report) is essentially gone, they will have to find another way to have a basis to judge each others devotion to the cause.
Because the last thing Watchtower wants to lose is their brand.

I still wouldn't go back to the JW denomination, even if shunning were no longer a thing in the Witness community because I have no reason to believe in any of their doctrines, though it would be nice if they no longer engaged in the practice of shunning, but I'm still not going to hold my breath on that one.
