I love your videos John. Your approach to fixing a problem right where it pops and suggesting them to us in the process of your build is what makes your videos right on the top for us to watch. Problems cannot be hidden like the one came to you when tightening the screw to the key slot. Well post all and everything. You will learn and we will learn. Hoping to see lot more builds and makings.
Thanks for sharing! I would have moved the access slot to the narrow part of the mount. That would give you better access and the tool could go in straight.
Lol, Dovetail clamp not being tight enough causing the pull down also bit me (pun intended), I went through the same set of troubleshooting steps as you did before I just re-tightened the z axis dovetails, and it fixed it. This should be an FAQ for Taig owners!

Thanks. Definitely more to come.

John, Looking forward to videos showing the motor in use. Thanks!
I have the same motor on my Taig lathe. It is a little powerhouse. Thanks for the video.

Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing it.
nice work!
Thanks.
Would you mind sharing your pulley dimensions? And what's the top rpm achieved with this setup? Thanks a lot
You can find all the specifics, including links to specific parts, on my blog: trains.socha.com/2018/11/taig-to-taigmach-mill.html
Good info!
The motor almost looked like it had a sleeve on it to up size the shaft. Could that have been removed?
It's a single piece with a step in it. So no.
Your not supposed to tighten or loosen with ball allens!
Good job! :) But could be easier and more accurate made on a lathe.
Definitely--if only I had a lathe.
