From a fellow 🎭 thespian , where I’m from most people don’t understand this dance form over wall hip hop being that I’m Jamaican and they are so useto looking like dancehall
I love how storytelling is part of the craft and even when dancers are full of hype and aggression to their opponents there is respect shown to the performing party. Krumpers don't seem to take anything personally, it says a lot for the community!
@MetalHeadZ Judging from your name, I'm assuming that headbanging, and rage screaming into a microphone makes more sense...? You don't understand it, so you'd rather talk sh*t.. This dance keeps people from resorting to violence in their respective hoods where it originated. Feel free to take your privileged opinion somewhere else.
i get so into this shit i get tears in my eyes. Dance is so full of language - theres a reason everyone in the crowd goes off at specific points - we recognize something in the body language - we recognize the phrase - we've had that thought before - know what that feeling is.
I agree... It may not be as visually pleasing, or be as big on musicality as other styles but Krump expresses something primal and spiritual that few people can relate with.
As a former Break Dancer, I miss the battles so much. This is fantastic and reminds me of wonderful crowds watching me and my crew perform, the energy of the room on fire and everyone digging it all. Dance frees the soul.
These are the people when they were kids which threw themselves around in the supermarkt because they wanted something really badly and they made a whole career out of it, I applaud, they are amazing !
the crowd is such an important part of this culture! you can tell how the dancers rely on the hype and support to carry them to victory, and immediately after they land a big move: their crew is right there to go off!
I know all forms of dance don’t belong to any single race but it’s dope af to always see every race take part. Asian krumpers always surprise tf out of me.
I've noticed that Asian folks take hip hop culture more seriously than us Americans do now. Sad really, what the record companies have turned it into. Substance abuse and oversexualization.
5:00 this part of the video will change your whole facial expression, change your body posture and make you ask God for forgiveness for blaspheming his name. Ultra combo delight. Flawless victory
8:39 a small thing to note is that the beatboxers there is the tag team K-pom, not Madox. Madox beatbox is the person who edits the videos (if I remember correctly) and the video was also posted of the YT channel “Swissbeatbox”
Krump is like emotion war, anger, aggression and what not at the same time. Its just dance for audience but for krumpers its more than any thing more than money and fame.
im 50 now but used to break dance and pop and competed against ppl all the time, it was never this fierce though, what's the point of goal of this dance style?
Dancing has evolved. It's skill, all skill, but it's not very aesthetically commercial. I think now, Dance has become a lot more commercial and still very skillful at the same time.
I am officially old.....I guess if it was a music video with wild camera moves and effects It would be more exciting....but I just dont get what is the big fuzz.
damn i did not expect to see that beatboxing clip in there. i'm a long time beatboxer that has recently gotten into all of this thanks to plasteed (i know he doesn't do much krump if any at all) but that's so awesome seeing that crossover
imagine explaining this to someone that doesn't know what krump is. " so what it is bro! you move your body in a way like you're having a walking exorcism, trust me its fully sick "
FYI - the beatboxers for the BBOY Mijo set was NOT Madox. That's a singular beatboxer. You can call them K-Pom or Napom and Kenny Urban. The baby eyex vs bad machinee was disgustingly good.
Idk about y’all but I feel every beat every move and expressions give praise for dance and it’s embodiment 🙌🏾

Yeah. Me too...except for krumping.
Facts I can be in an area alone and hear trump music and that energy from the music makes me slowly start dancing.
Queen im up at 2am smoking and vibing to this! This is a whole ball of energy!

I like the way this kids support/hype for each other, even though they battle!
I swear Krumping is a war dance. I don’t know how to describe it any other way
