This is a sharp little tribute to a famous classic. A lot of hard work went into this film and I salute everyone involved. I can't get enough of these amateur efforts. Keep them coming.
"The Beast..." was only one of many classics of imaginative fiction that were shown on NYC TV stations back in the 1960's. I watched them all - and had some pretty hairy nightmares, afterwards.
I've been watching Willis O'Brien then Ray Harryhausen, as well as other stop-motion artists (including Jim Danforth), since the Fifties. I think you did an amazing job! They certainly would have praised you. I hope you keep working with this art, as they definitely need it after they get tired of much of the very poor CGI, which isn't getting much better unless they pour untold millions into it. People are sticking with their love of stop-motion movies, bless 'em! Best of luck in the future!
You are so right my friend it is. Read what the description says about the video. It is my homage to Ray Harryhausen the master stop motion animator who inspired me. Thanks for watching.
Very Impressive! You put a heck of a lot of work into making this! The whole production- animation, special visual effects, model work and storyline.... all shows that you have a promising career ahead of you! Great stuff! I just had to save this one in my files! It's a great homage to Ray Harryhausen!
Très belle hommage à ce célèbre classique et ont peut reconnaître la musique de la créature du la noir . Bravos a vous Willis Obrien et Ray harryausen sont fières de vous .
It has been a few years ago since I made this video but as I remember I spent several weeks or more working on it. Perhaps a month all together. Thanks for watching.
Use a program called Claymation Studio to capture the animation. It is a good basic and simple program for stop motion . I am pretty sure that you can still get it. I use green screen to put in the backgrounds. I also imported some of the frames into Photoshop to add effects. Made the creature out of foam rubber and a wood and wire armature. Sculpted the skin in clay and cast them in latex rubber and glued on. Gorilla glue works pretty well. The model was about 18 inches long. I would make him smaller if I were doing it now. The big one was awkward to work with at times. If you require any more info let me know.
I created the dinosaur. It is a combination of different ones so it is basically a made up creature. It has a crude wire and wood armature. I molded the body in clay and made plaster casts from which I made the latex rubber skin glued on the armature. It was also padded out with some foam that you can get at a fabric store.
who wants me to make a Blender CGI remake of this film? i am planning to do that after i make CGI remake of Phil Tippet's 1984 prehistoric beast. I like Rhedosaurus too
Too be fair, Cgi is not in itself a bad thing, as many are saying it is. Like stop motion before it, It's simply an art tool, it matters how it's used and who uses it rather than judging it by itself
VERY GOOD! IF THE CREATURE WAS MORE REALISTIC LIKE HARRAYHAUSENS, YOU COULD ACTUALLY MAKE A MOVIE. YOU HAVE A GOOD GRASP ON STOP MOTION ANIMATION, COULD BE A LITTLE SMOOTHER THOUGH. SO KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, AND WHO KNOWS, YOU MIGHT BRING BACK STOP MOTION BACK TO THE SILVER SCREEN.
One of my favorite movies lives again! Delightful, and very elaborate. Also liked your "Id Monster". Am doing my own version soon. Feel free to check out my "Pillar of Fire", done in the style of the Id monster, under muerte62. Loved what you did with "Beast".
I created the newspaper in photoshop and animated it frame by frame to make it appear to spin. The buildings were simply made of cardboard and painted to look like bricks. The lighthouse was also made of cardboard and painted as was the boat. When you don't have a lot of money to work with you use whatever you can and try to be as creative as possible. Glad you liked it. Thanks
Ray and Ray are looking down on this and smiling. Thank you for this 👍👍
He was one of the greats. RIP Ray Harryhausen, May 7, 2013.
My favorite all-time artist!!!! Harryhausen!!!!!!
Your work is excellent! Ray Harryhausen would be proud!!!

this will always be one of my favourite Harry H animation movies
Wonderful animation and technical effects 👏

A great tribute to Harryhausen
Great Job..! It's nice to see how the classic Raymussen's Spirit is still alive in this New Century...Congratulations.
I love it!!!! Great creature, too!!!
Great work, Ray would be proud of your work.

This is great. I'm glad that there are others who get inspired to do stop motions off of these films!
Thoroughly enjoyed watching this video! Thanks for making it and putting it out!
The creature looks like a mix of the beast from 20,000 fathoms and the giant behemoth
Good job 👏 👍 👌.

Wow! Amazing work! This is fantastic 👏
Wonderful work here✔️👍✔️
Really good effort, which I thoroughly enjoyed! It does illustrate just what a stop-motion genius Ray Harryhausen was, thanks for posting! :)
Great
When I saw this movie I was seven years of age, it scared the heck out of me, stop action photography was the rage of movies then better than cgi.
Rhedosaurus needs a remake
Kagiza400 there is one its called Godzilla 1998.
@@xandan1668 lol
it would be cool if Monsterverse will include the Rhedosaurus
Why is the beast sounds like trex
But not a CGI with a "love interest" remake. And no kids or ESP communication.

Totally awsome! Using the "theme" from the Creature from the Black Lagoon was a nice touch. Well done!
I have not seen this movie yet but I know that It is going to be my favorite dinosaur movie
Very clever. I enjoyed it. I have always been sorry for the creature despite the damage it did .
Très belle hommage à ce célèbre classique et ont peut reconnaître la musique de la créature du la noir . Bravos a vous Willis Obrien et Ray harryausen sont fières de vous .

Thanks so much!
New York dino kabobs for everyone.😂🤣
excellent job!
awesome
For a fan produced flick, this is pretty good.
It's a pity that stop motion animation is being replaced by CG effects. Truly a lost art.

@titan133760
Yes, I made it. It has a wooden jointed armature with a molded latex skin.
Nicly done. The stop motion effects were great. You dinosaur liked funny! Have you given it name?
Thankyou very much!
I really want to be just like harryhausen be a famous stop motion creator
Thanks!
Cheesey but a lot of fun to watch!!!
Good Stuff!!
Which softwares did you used to do this Video?
I want to make one similar to this one but for my Favorite Movie of the 1954.
FPS Frames per second. The number of film frames an animator uses to record his animation. The more frames per second the smoother the animation.
i wish i can make 3d CGI blender version of your incredible stop motion because your stop motion animatino is good for animatics
Groovy!
Rhedosaurs for the Monsteverse!
This was great! I'm working on a stopmotion myself. What was your FPS?
@IncredibleFulk1
Thanks! Nope, no name for the dinosaur. Any suggestions?
@artguy53 I don't know yet. I'll get back to if I think of any.

by the way is that your stop-motion puppet?
Yep!
1:03-1:10 Jurassic Park T-Rex roars
make a remastered/remake of this video
So the beast was imprisoned in styrofoam for one hundred million years.
I saw this video long time ago
what is the different of the beast ftom 10 000 fathoms and the beast from 20 000 fathoms?
3:05 titanic!
so basically its rhedosaurus father before him (in a nutshell )
Time for the American version of Gojira, Godzilla King of the Monsters
