- This Video compares the Nintendo Arcade VS Golf game against the NES Version of golf. I'll show you what's different and what you're missing by not having VS Golf in your collection.
You can find me (and many other retro gamers) on "Rockin the Classics" Discord, and come say hello in "therexershow-arcade corner" room in this discord. Thanks again.

Great video Rexer! I don't recall playing either of these versions but the definitely look like fun. The surprise at the end was amazing!
Look forward to checking this out and any of the other VS games you guys might compare! 😊
Very informative video. I like the small changes the arcade golf offers, although small I think they improve the game greatly
They definitely do. Makes a great game even better.
I got Pebble Beach for NES, Its actually pretty good.
i remember seeing you and your buddy play this, good times
It’s one of our staples . Plus we gamble on it. 😂😂 always adds some interest.
I had this game on gameboy, and Link to past played both alot on the hour + school bus ride.
Both games still hold up !
We really need Golf on the Nintendo Switch Online NES library!
We’ve been waiting for that forever !! They have tennis and other black box. Wtf. Let’s get golf!!
Moar Golf! I really enjoy your game highlights Rexer, very interesting and very entertaining, going to fire these up tonight!
Such a great game. We will be firing up the ladies version on my twitch channel live next week.
more not moar
@@mattalan6618 No it is Moar, if you knew me, you would get it.
Never played it before I’ll check it out
Get the lady version too , it has like 10 new holes.
I'm adding this to my iiRcade
Grab the ladygolf.zip too. It has 10 new holes or so.
Good explanation!
While golf was fun in it's day. It's a bit tough if you haven't or don't play it regularly to know what clubs to use. I think the NES manual had distances for clubs but after the tee shot, they don't do much good. Once it was released, NES Open was my go to golf game before PGA Tour on SNES.
Nothing wrong with NES open tournament.
I was bummed when I downloaded this game for the Switch, I was expecting the NES version, but instead got the arcade version….
Really? I didn’t know it was on the switch ? The Arcade version is better. Cmon !
You have nes golf on your mini console. Right? It’s still working ?
That’s the other brother
@moserrw we never got you one ?
I have one for him if he wants it.@@therexershow
Great job on the video
Get ready to lose in ladies golf!!
Great Rexer showing that Emulation doesn't work! 🤣 anyways yes I played these versions of the game and at home. Nice info non the less and well edited. Keep it up!
Well it works , just not perfectly. A lot of Nintendo games don’t emulate well , not much you can do about that. The good news is you don’t have to pay $600 for emulation. It’s free.
@@therexershow Yes but if you are wanting the Nostalgia of the game. Right.... or the Correct feeling and controls you have to get the original machine.... Right? Again just a matter of opinion. So if someone enjoys playing the game on lets say an Arcade1up. They can do that or a Multicade. Sure they might have to pay $600+ to do it. But the most important thing is they are having fun. Sure you can get stuff for Free but Free stuff doesn't go up in Value sorry. :)
@@dragongamer2670 this game doesn’t require precise joysticks controls and button lag won’t matter much since it’s a slow meter and you can adjust for lag. Also emulation audio is rough on it. Sounds like a perfect arcade for 1up to make and sell for $600! Hopefully they can make it happen.
@@therexershow It is a Nintendo Product if anything Nintendo would probably make sure everything is perfect if that would ever happen. But I hear Nintendo might be doing some Arcade stuff.. with another company. So Who Knows! Still not going to take people's fun away if they go with smaller arcade machines or multi-machines just to enjoy the game. But again my personal opinion. I would want the "Real" thing because at least it goes up in Value. Don't forget that part ;)
Is nes open tournament golf related to these games. It is very similar underneath the hood. Just better graphics and animations. Maybe easier too haven’t played these since the nes mini game out.
I don't know if i'd say related but its definitely the next iteration is the series of nintendo golf games. Open Tournament Golf actually has Mario and Luigi , whereas Golf is just two random guys (supposedly...or maybe not). Both are good games actually , Open Tournament and original Golf.
@@therexershow I have a famicom disk system golf: japan course rom that has some special courses. It was from some weird fax kiosk apparently. It has Mario as the golfer it’s like in between the look of original golf and nes open.
@@Bo_Knows_Tecmo oh that’s awesome ! Any videos out there on that version? I’d like to see what it looks like.
@@therexershow yeah just look up golf japan course famicom disk system. It is pretty obscure so don’t see a whole lot on it. I only played it briefly myself so not too knowledgeable. There is a us course version as well. I am gonna mess with these later tonight to familiarize myself with them.
What... You got a green screen?!?!
I’ve had one for years. Stopped using it long ago.
You actually don’t even need one anymore. The camera and OBS can do it without a screen
Thanks for the lesson @therexershow 🏌
