Sir am a MSc Physics student .. I wanna write gate exam in Geology and Geophysics paper..my doubt is : as in part b there are two sections - one s for geology and second for geophysics.. being a physics student which one can I choose ? And can I choose any section upon my wish ! Please do reply sir . Thank u

You can choose either, but your decision should be based on what you want to do with your GATE score. If you are MSc Physics student, you should go for Geophysics because most IITs and PSUs will accept your GATE score for admissions. But there is a common section in the GATE examination which is Geology intensive and you will need to prepare well for this section. You can even write the GATE exam in Physics if you want to join PSUs such as ONGC.
