I’m a recovering alcoholic here in Scotland, 21 years sober, and AA helped save my life. Things got so much better when I quit the booze. Life’s issues still arise of course but I confront them now, I can deal with them, whereas when I was on the drink I hid from everything. I ran from problems but the worst problem was the drink itself and it took me a long time to realise that. Anyway, all the best to you, enjoy the festive season and live life one day at a time. 👍

I do not miss comedowns and hangovers. No matter the time of the year, but especially at Xmas. Wasted so many Xmas times going out getting shitfaced, doing drugs, and then feeling like shit and depressed all through the Xmas period, vowing to change in the new year. Coz u can manipulate urself as soon as those thoughts come in ur head. He’s back after over two years for Christmas and within these couple of weeks of being back. I can see how much he’s falling back into this horrible mess he was in before. I’m living on my nerves because before he left he was everyone’s “friend” and was everyone’s “scapegoat” he has serious addiction issues and tendencies. He runs from me because he knows I can read him like a book. Can you give me any advice how to make him see he’s jeopardising a great life in OZ for his “ friends” here who have nothing to lose. I wish I could just give him a light bulb statement to make him think. I’m desperate man. Wishing you and EVERYONE in your family a happy and safe peaceful Christmas 🎅 🇮🇪
