bluzzjazz, 60 years ago we used to laugh at runners who moved their arms like that and said that they ran "like girls". I guess we were wrong to laugh.
Her style reminds me of Michael Johnson: extremely focused and determined upright posture and has that similar rocking head movement as she's pounding every single leg and hip muscle into that track. She'll go faster there's no doubt in my mind.
I absolutely agree ,Michael Johnson ! I thought the same thing, choppy powerful steps, that posture almost leaning backwards ..focus and then pound pound pound ....victory!!!
Most important thing I notice in her running style. She tries to keep her elbows infront of her hips at all times. Seems conterintuitive. But try too jog slowly, swing your arms naturally. Now, try to keep on joggin slowly. Jog slow, but now swing your arms as fast as possible while trying too jog slow.¨ The faster you move your hands, your feet wanna follow (while running). She perfected that!
I can’t get over the very odd thing she does with her forearms. But success speaks for itself. This young woman will be wowing us in the next few years.
Wow...you can actually see her technique....she uses her whole body, look how she has her elbows tucked in like a boxer, causing her to use her upper body to create speed....the other runners arms are not tucked in, you can see their elbows separating from their bodies, causing them to lose energy ...
When you're racing , you ain't got time to relax, give it all you got all the way , it's JUST half a quarter mile... it's not like you got to give it all you got everyday... just keep on picking up speed as you turn the corner..
@@efisgpr it's funny you said that an Abby STILL hasn't ran 21. See how you hating makes you looks. You said she'll smash it but hasn't went 21 ANYTHING. Know track first then talk. An Ofili has beaten her twice since then!! In the 100m and 200m.

The announcers are terrible: they never once mentioned Gwen Torrence is record time. They stated the name of the woman who held the previous record; they stated how long ago it was set; they stated the year that the record was set; they stated everything about the record 200-m time-- except the time! What was the time for the previous record?????
@Ric Jones Thanks, i didn't know who she was before this race, now i'm going to keep up on her, watched that 10.92 race and the 200 m at 22.38. I call her the Road Runner. MEEP, MEEP .
I'd imagine crushing a record is obliterating it by a few seconds. Eaking out a few tenths isn't crushing to me. But wtf do i know, I'm no women's track running star.
I love the way the other women congratulated her.
Sport is the best thing on this planet. Fantastic to see.
Good sportsmanship is as great as a win! 👍🏻

I could watch her all day
I could, love her kit
I'm cheering for her to break world records.
Steiner and Ofili are phenomenal sprinters.
She has been training and now realize that it has paid off. Amazing run.
She gets the kind of coaching we never got in school.
heartwarming to see the other runners come over to hug her
Greatest women's 200m era (which is quite a statemen) and I think Steiner will become the best of the pack.
She may beat flo jos record

When she gets even stronger she will eventually break that WR. She was only a stride away from breaking that record

Wow
Steiner no 1
Go Abby
i love abby's stride. if she can stop that arm swing from fighting her.... even faster.
One thing I love about track is how close you q to yoq friends with these people and have so much respect for them
I love it. I don't like how her arms are at start of race but she improves it as she gets to speed
The date isn't quite right, but thanks for posting.
That girl is absolutely truckin"!
Now that's what you call white lightning.
Weren’t there conversations about abbey vrs ofili?

Abby you just came out short but good try. You are still indoor champion!🏆

As a casual observer, her legs move fast. It's not the stride but the speedy rhythm , which the standard cameras
can just about catch!

tighter turns.....200 is a whole lap

She should slow down. She doesn’t have to run that fast against her competition. Save some for later on.
