This is great if you wanna die.
The pipe is a dryer pipe... it's not made for direct flames. Even the best quality can't resist to higher then 650-700 F degrees wich can be easily obtained even in a tiny stove. ( depending on what kind of wood you will be using)

I made one of these and where I used jb weld to connect the flue to the can it caught on fire.. I didn't know JB weld was flammable even after it dries

Bravo ! Neat and nifty little heater/stove,great work friend ! 🌞
This is a great form of recycling, making something useful from discarded items.
It is also a fine example of being resourceful, using what you have on-hand to do something instead of automatically running to the store.
Thanks for sharing this cool project with us.

    • @roseericson3828
      @roseericson3828 3 года назад +4

@@jsmithkoko it is a flange at the top on the inside. If your stove is circular on the inside cut a circle the same size and then cut a strip off one side (lest than 1/4 of the over all diameter of the circle. Weld at the top just below the chimney, with the part you sliced off away from the chimney, and angled down slightly. This forces the smoke to circle back and re-ignite. It also stops the flame from going up the pipe. Let me know if you have questions 😎

Some fool is going to try this and burn their house down. Not that it can't be done, but where are all the precautions that should be emphasized!?
#1 cutting out more metal than needed to form a sturdy stand.
#2 making sure it is used on a non flammable surface.
#3 showing where you are venting it and that it DOES NEED TO BE VENTED OUTSIDE!
#4 And that venting cannot touch any flammable surface.
You assume people have some common sense. They don't! Some are incredibly stupid.

This could really be useful as a mini stove inside a tipi tent.
I would make at least 3, possibly 4 support legs though and also bend up only every second flap to make the chimney, that way it will retain a bit more of the heat instead of going out through the chimney, while it is still pretty good ventilation.

    • It looks okay, but I'm a little worried about how flimsy the legs look; they're too wobbly and would get worse when hot. :-|
    • I'm tempted to make one to keep on my desk. 😀 The heat and smell would be nice. 👍 (The co-op might evict me though.)
    • I don't have a vent for the smoke; it would need a hole in the wall which would make a draft and defeat the point of the stove.
