Okay that cube game is actually potentially pretty difficult. We had a class where we were supposed to make 3x3x3 puzzle blocks and even though we all made our own, it still took us all forever to solve each other's.
Stacking 8 cubes in to one shows good problem solving and observational skills. The task was to "assemble 9 cubes" not "have 9 cubes at the end of the 3 minutes"
Eh, if you take things too literally you could just assemble a cube, break it down and do the same one all over again, eight times.. I'm not sure that would work but, who knows lol.
At least with one solid, giant cube formed out of eight there's still technically nine total at the end.. I wouldn't put too much faith in the semantics of the word "assemble" 😅
@@I.Am.L there's a pretty solid chance that doing that would have also worked. You don't have nine cubes if you assemble eight into one, you have one. Though, I wouldn't call stealing a cube assembling so maybe it could just be chalked up to plot contrivance.
I would like to point out that while asking previous testers is a good idea, assuming that the challenges remain the same year-to-year is a bad assumption unless it's well known that is the case or multiple different testers from different test years have confirmed this to be the case. It's like how the SAT or ACT questions change year to year but cover the same skills.
Good point. I would still ask around though. If the tests are the same prepare for those. If they’re not, find a pattern. That way I can still prepare and not go in blind. Depending on what the past test takers say, I can practice puzzles, lower my pain tolerance, etc.
That mannequin challenge was so unrealistic - most metal jewelry is NOT made of silver so I really doubt anyone would associate someone not wearing other metals with something as specific as a silver allergy If anything, someone might guess a nickel allergy as they're really common but silver allergy? That's so obscure
There's a chance that the metal she was allergic to didn't actually matter, but what did matter is that they correctly diagnosed that she's suffering from some form of metal poisoning.
A nickle allergie is a type 4 allergie tho. Meaning it would take hours of contact to get a reaction. But not only that but the hostess being blind doesn't mean she would not react when she HEARS commotion.

I say this was beaten, but not for the reasons you may think...And you don't even need to go The Offshore. Let's assume a few requisite criteria first: 1) The tests will not be the same, so what guarantees do you have that the makers of each challenge will play fair or reuse assets? 2) Only 3%? Think about that number. Let that sink in. There is a hidden cost to winning, but what is that cost? You have a large mass of people selected from a MUCH larger mass of people. That's 30 people out of 1000. 3) The resistance, for whatever reason, suspects something afoot. They may be correct, and they do have soft power in the community. How do we turn that power into hard power? How should it be focused? 4) The interview should be a dead giveaway from the start. They are after certain mental traits. Is it possible to turn those traits into a force of change instead of the ammo to draw the more baser uses? With these requisites in play, let's spin the scenario. Let us assume this has been going on for...ten years or so before the start of this batch. That's 300 people. What is the daily caloric intake of 300 people? What is the water use of 300 people? The various resources? That can mean one of two things. There is a monstrous amount of resources being pooled for just so few people, or there is a severe lack of these resources. Either case tells me that Ezequiel and company are playing with a stacked deck, and they are dealing the cards. I would hazard the second situation here, lack of resources in total. Why not press it? One way or another, The Offshore is living on borrowed time. You just need a spark. This is beaten because society wakes up, eventually. It may take five years, one year, two months, a week...But it always does.
I tend to agree with you however I would like to add waste pollution and political standing as well without a foundation lower class this culture would be unsustainable further to the point roughly 8% of seaside land is farmable meaning there is probably layers to this as it would take roughly 83sq kilometers of beachside land to sustain life and livestock is not included unless this is a global foundation it is virtually impossible to sustain 300 from each generation it is quite possible the 300 ARE the livestock as some people have a genetic ability to inherit the abilities of their palate mostly being of Egyptian decent and middle eastern decent

1. I loved this series xd 2. 4:45 and the rest? 3. 6:38 being fair it was explained that from this point on, the challenges trend to change, and the cube challenge even when it is a constant in this cycle, is always shown in a new way with new materials 4. 8:31 I need to admit it.... *western series aren´t original with their faction´s names-* 5. 27:52 not sure if that story would make them want the 2nd child to go through the process... "yeah there is a point of this process in which people rather kill or die.... but hey your baby should try it" xd 6. 31:27 the issue would be to convince him why "Michele couldn´t press the button with you by herself", probably saying that there are 3 buttons, but Fernando would probably be like "why the 2 buttons have view of the other but the 3rd one not?", so maybe a more elaborated lie xd
I remember enjoying this show when it started. Haven't watched the other seasons but had fun with the first one. Also, interesting to see you covering a game that's not really about death and torture. Most of the people who are eliminated just go back home and no one actually has to die unless the competitors themselves decide to start murdering - like Marco killing the girl
I think the test is more so to test their belief in the process and not so much loyalty. I say this because they very specifically wanted you to not choose family and didn't punish you for cheating or going rogue. It felt very much like Divergent's "Faction before Blood" believe in the process mentality. If you really think about it it makes sense. The final test wasn't the final test. The final test was the sterilization. The only wanted people who believe in the test so much and detached from family that they are willing to give up the ability to have children. They want to control the populationand and on a more sinister note they don't want people born into the good life. The must earn it. That brings me to the fact that they don't kill the people who fail. They just send them back to the slums. That's how they keep this all going because the people who fail continue to have children. Still makes me wonder about those who fail could some be bitter and choose not to help? Also makes me think why can't they improve their slums? From what I gather everyone seems similar situation. Might sound bit utopian but does money even matter? For example they can start with one building and work together to fix it up and look nice. Are they not allowed? I can see why elite wouldn't want it because if the slums improve then they wouldn't want to participate.
@@zakazany1945 it is a valid question though, even within poverty ridden areas there are still some areas that are nicer than others. There are economic hierarchy within the lowest economic strata. There’s no reason why over time a specific group of families hasn’t banded together under it’s common cause and improved the welfare of those specific people. Unless the ability to trade, cooperate, build wealth or resources, and form groups is completely absent from this society
@@tometrickbrooks307 That's what I mean. It's like you hear about community groups that go paint a building that looks rundown and I couldn't help but think to myself couldn't they do small things like that just to improve living conditions a bit over time? Also revisited this video after seeing it as I was on other vids and saw my previous comment.
Fernando losing was the most upsetting. I was so annoyed he fell for his own test not even 24hours later. Its not like he deakt with stressful events inbetween to cloud his mind. If he made this test at the beginning / first day and they tried it much later after hunger and stress and almoat death. Sure, i would be upset but understandable. But the same day
For the coin challenge, just eat a coin. Unless the contestants are willing to hold you down and force you to vomit or kill you, you are still in possession of the coin at the end of the challenge.
@@hassanalkhalaf1115 didn't get the same hype because 3% is a very obvious anti-capitalist story through and through, the media would never hype up something like this show.
About the "ask previous tests' failed participants" thing - I believe it's stated later in the series that one of the jobs in the rich place is coming up with these tests
Even if the tests are changed every year there are still things you could learn. You'd have a massive sample size to learn exactly what types of test they liked to choose. Even if you don't know the exact tests just having hundreds of examples of past tests would tell you a lot about the overall ideas about how to succeed in the trial.
Actually in Michelle and Bruna's interrogation its said that they know the Cause's mole is from their building, so blaming the other participants wouldn't work.
I'm from Brazil (the place where this series takes place) e I can confirm: this is the process for getting a job here. But the only exception is that once you get the job you'll stay in the lumps, only with enough cash to not starve do death.
Nerd, I love you for this! 3% is my favorite show. I dont know if you watched the whole series for this video, and if you havent I recommend you to do so. Although the first season is the best, the rest are still very thrilling and entertaining.
I did the cube thing in class once, took me a while to learn but i now hold the school record for fastest cube made at 4.35 second so i think i'd do just fine :) (the cubes in the film look identical to the ones i used)
I really like how the "elite" are still shady and that the games are still dangerous, despite the fact they are not explicitly designed to be (as is usually the case in movies like this)
Aside from the Cube game, I think passing would actually be possible for me. I'd take Juana's route. The interview is easy enough The cube game might take some time but I could do it The tunnel game is easy if you stick together The coin game is also easy if you take a coin before Rafael does In the mannequin game, I already would've explored the room. Contribution secured Someone should've been tried to climb up that food shute, and I'm small enough that it's possible. Once I talk with the coordinator I'd go back down to free the others and the simply go through the door. The family test is easy, once I see my family member in the room I'm leaving and saying that I'll stay. No one said you couldn't invite your family to offshore I'm not sure what I'd have to do for the singular challenge, but considering the other individual challenges I'd probably have to do something similar to Fernando After that the initiation is easy
I think a challenge could be everyone is given a guide to solve it but they’re all false. The real challenge is solving it on their own in the time limit
I do feel like the test where they changed it was kinda cheep to solve since they did do what was expected of them it's just that they did it so well that they didn't actually test what they were looking for which makes me think that if you do too well on these they might just do that over and over to actually get what they are looking for
That’s exactly the point. The processors are playing dirty. If you watch the show, there’s sort of a panicky undertone to this year’s Process because of a big failure that happened on the Offshore. Ezequiel even has a representative from the Offshore Council following him around and “inspecting” the Process. So yeah, they’re just trying to get good results and it makes them cheat.
So happy I’ve actually seen this show before you reviewed it! Extra happy you decided to review as well. Gave up watching after they left the mainland.
The scenes all look kind of funny to me. It reminds of theater acting. Ten actors all trying to ham up the camera at once, and camera angles that show most of them just standing about in every frame.
20:11 I'm pretty sure that's not right, more likely, on master locks, It's so cheap that the ball that holds the shackle has a weak spring. Which means when you hit the side of the lock the ball moves, and therefore the shackel comes free. If it's a master lock it's a suggestion, trying to lockpick, bypass, or break it are not off the table.
I simply LOVE your videos... But this one is special, coming from a Brazilian fan as myself 😍🇧🇷 Thanks for the wonderful work, the respect and caring that you put on your channel 💕
Omg thanks so much for uploading! I binged watched all your vids and I be so bored and I don’t watch nothing else on RUclips besides how to beat videos… 😩
just a fact you may not know, the founder of the resistance, is the daughter of the founders of the "offshore" 😂😂😂 she was the first person to fail one of the tests, how ironic.
One question about the staged dinner scene. If the blind woman is part of the offshore, how did she manage to make it through the process? Specifically the cube stage, I'm aware she could have been able to feel the shapes, however I assume that would take longer than 3 minutes. She would also be unaware if she was stolen from. So was she assisted by someone or was she born in the offshore?
One thing that nerd explains didn't mention that was said is that the tests change each year. The blind woman could easily have just past in a year where none of the tests explicitly required sight.
I have to say as someone that saw the serie you forgot the part that the test is the same type but not the same teste for exemple in the 9 cubes would always be a coordenation test but not always cubes

3. 6:38 being fair it was explained that from this point on, the challenges trend to change, and the cube challenge even when it is a constant in this cycle, is always shown in a new way with new materials
4. 8:31 I need to admit it.... *western series aren´t original with their faction´s names-*
5. 27:52 not sure if that story would make them want the 2nd child to go through the process... "yeah there is a point of this process in which people rather kill or die.... but hey your baby should try it" xd
6. 31:27 the issue would be to convince him why "Michele couldn´t press the button with you by herself", probably saying that there are 3 buttons, but Fernando would probably be like "why the 2 buttons have view of the other but the 3rd one not?", so maybe a more elaborated lie xd
For 2. I think it’s tone
I took a leadworthy class and I’m not 100% sure but he did teach us abut that and I think the 38% was tone.
@honey b I'm not sure if this is sarcastic or not O.o I legit wonder why not work together to improve one building at a time.
you should watch the other seasons
@@shortpettite You can't be serious about the "why don't they just improve their lives".
But the same day
Joana looks kinda like the strong link. In the tunnel she sort of drags everyone to victory
This show is one of my favorites, season 2 we get to learn more about the process and get more world building. 10/10 recommend
For the coin challenge, just eat a coin. Unless the contestants are willing to hold you down and force you to vomit or kill you, you are still in possession of the coin at the end of the challenge.
you have to have it in your hand
yeah, I thought about that too, but then I was unsure of if holding means in your hands or if it is a valid idea.
"Things get lord of the flies fast" I like that book
This reminds me a lot of Squid Game but with a lot more contestants and less death.
So sad that it didn't get the same hype
@@hassanalkhalaf1115 didn't get the same hype because 3% is a very obvious anti-capitalist story through and through, the media would never hype up something like this show.
@@TeheHehe-xp8to Squid Game is even less subtle about its critique on capitalism, yet it was hyped a lot
@@TeheHehe-xp8toand squid games isn't??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 lmaooo
Squid games whole plot is about debt in a capitalist system
About the "ask previous tests' failed participants" thing - I believe it's stated later in the series that one of the jobs in the rich place is coming up with these tests
Even if the tests are changed every year there are still things you could learn. You'd have a massive sample size to learn exactly what types of test they liked to choose. Even if you don't know the exact tests just having hundreds of examples of past tests would tell you a lot about the overall ideas about how to succeed in the trial.
Actually in Michelle and Bruna's interrogation its said that they know the Cause's mole is from their building, so blaming the other participants wouldn't work.
u don’t get the love i have for this show & the characters. especially now that i know more about the social commentary. i’m watching it again 😄
3% is one of my favorite shows of all time. its so underrated so i'm so glad to see you talking about it!!
I just love how much time nerd takes to explain all of this the passion is amazing.
3:44 is when ads stop if any ones wondering otherwise skip passed this. ps nerd explains I love your content keep up the good work!
The main problem that came from rewatching the show this year, was the fact I couldn't stop thinking "We don't talk about Bruna, no no no".
It’s worth watching, way deeper than just “the process”
I'm from Brazil (the place where this series takes place) e I can confirm: this is the process for getting a job here. But the only exception is that once you get the job you'll stay in the lumps, only with enough cash to not starve do death.
27:45 Selina in Gotham said "The best liars always tell the truth" something I've always remembered and probably will
I love this series and was so sad when it was over. I binged each season all in one night as soon as they were released.
Congrats on being on the trending list my g
Nerd, I love you for this! 3% is my favorite show. I dont know if you watched the whole series for this video, and if you havent I recommend you to do so. Although the first season is the best, the rest are still very thrilling and entertaining.
Just sat down to eat and you post this in literally 30s xD Thanks man
Hells yes! Nerd Explains for Prez!
Finally someone is talking about this series 🙌🏾
I did the cube thing in class once, took me a while to learn but i now hold the school record for fastest cube made at 4.35 second so i think i'd do just fine :) (the cubes in the film look identical to the ones i used)
I really like how the "elite" are still shady and that the games are still dangerous, despite the fact they are not explicitly designed to be (as is usually the case in movies like this)
Aside from the Cube game, I think passing would actually be possible for me. I'd take Juana's route.
The interview is easy enough
The cube game might take some time but I could do it
The tunnel game is easy if you stick together
The coin game is also easy if you take a coin before Rafael does
In the mannequin game, I already would've explored the room. Contribution secured
Someone should've been tried to climb up that food shute, and I'm small enough that it's possible. Once I talk with the coordinator I'd go back down to free the others and the simply go through the door.
The family test is easy, once I see my family member in the room I'm leaving and saying that I'll stay. No one said you couldn't invite your family to offshore
I'm not sure what I'd have to do for the singular challenge, but considering the other individual challenges I'd probably have to do something similar to Fernando
After that the initiation is easy
I think a challenge could be everyone is given a guide to solve it but they’re all false. The real challenge is solving it on their own in the time limit
I’m a simple guy. Nerd Explains uploads a video and my day is made 💯
I do feel like the test where they changed it was kinda cheep to solve since they did do what was expected of them it's just that they did it so well that they didn't actually test what they were looking for which makes me think that if you do too well on these they might just do that over and over to actually get what they are looking for
That’s exactly the point.
I was patiently awaiting this notification, thanks Nerd.
I watched this entire series, it was pretty good.
I’m sorry but “kill Marco” and “avoid Marco” are absolutely hilarious to me
So happy I’ve actually seen this show before you reviewed it! Extra happy you decided to review as well. Gave up watching after they left the mainland.
Quem diria q a série brasileira 3% chegaria nessa canal, eu n sou fã da série mas adorei o reconhecimento
Nice video as always
Damn I love this series, you guys need to watch it, the lasts seasons are so cool
The scenes all look kind of funny to me. It reminds of theater acting. Ten actors all trying to ham up the camera at once, and camera angles that show most of them just standing about in every frame.
Finallyyyyy
I love this show and no one talks about it
Ahhhh
I am so happy rn
It’s all fun and games until there’s a movie called 2%
More like 🎶TOP 1, TOP 1 PERCENT🎶.

"About as vague as a stoner with a laser pointer" xD
Nicely done with the vague reference!
This was one brazillian show that I actually really enjoyed. Though it kinda got stale at the end.
Have you watched "Cidade Invisível"? It's pretty interesting and seems to be getting a new season soon.
OMG I never expected you to do this one, love it!
This is the lockpicking lawyer and today we’re going to be escaping our psychopathic friends
You're my favorite youtube channel i've been waiting for your upload !
Most of these challenges had logical solutions and they remind me of puzzles in Virtue Last Reward and 999.
I simply LOVE your videos... But this one is special, coming from a Brazilian fan as myself 😍🇧🇷
Thanks for the wonderful work, the respect and caring that you put on your channel 💕
Death Games series are my favorite!!!

"How would you beat 'the Process'?"
My answer: Uhh, beat it. That's how.
That third challenge was my favorite, everyone should go watch it, it's great!
Omg thanks so much for uploading! I binged watched all your vids and I be so bored and I don’t watch nothing else on RUclips besides how to beat videos… 😩

This series is from Brazil, and I am Brazilian, and I like this :)
just a fact you may not know, the founder of the resistance, is the daughter of the founders of the "offshore" 😂😂😂 she was the first person to fail one of the tests, how ironic.
That scene was so sad
This is a pretty good channel, bruh. People always talk about what they would and would've done had they been in it.
Keep going ! I love your videos !

Really liked this one! Great video as always
Maybe she became blind later on in life.
No one is born on the offshore, they get sterilized at the end of the process
One thing that nerd explains didn't mention that was said is that the tests change each year. The blind woman could easily have just past in a year where none of the tests explicitly required sight.
This is some mastermind stuff right here
I have to say as someone that saw the serie you forgot the part that the test is the same type but not the same teste for exemple in the 9 cubes would always be a coordenation test but not always cubes
36:20 he did not kill him. she saw him alive later. also 10/10 summation of the first season.
“If you were a stomped out peasant” one step down 📝
Loving the frequent uploads! Keep up the good work!
Also the shapes comes in different colors so you'll have to multiply the pieces or divide to know how much of each you need 🤷🏾♂️
Thank you for the reminder that I need to finish the last season of this show
The allergic to silver thing is a huge stretch. Allergies to true precious metals are extremely rare and allergies to steel are rarer. What people think is a silver allergy is actually a nickel or zinc allergy.
Source: I'm allergic to silver and the doctor explained all this to me when I got my ears pierced and had a terrible reaction
I'm allergic to nickel, all I can ware is precious metals. Luckily my fav is silver, followed by copper.
@@feywynnightrunner9380 Yeah. metal allergies suck. Swelling and rashes and stuff. Not fun.
Marco's defeat could be described as crushing. Ouch !
I am really loving that video but I would have needed a flash warning for that tunnel part 😅 I know it’s easy to neglect or forget though.
that was a smooth ad placement well played, I like it
