Amen Tyrus to “ go outside”. I have been clinically depressed in my life in the past due to situations and have SADD. BUT the best thing for me is to go outside and take a walk! Sunshine is great but even on a cold cloudy day - OUTSIDE is the BEST way to combat depression!! Go outside for a walk - you get to see and listen to nature and the walk is great exercise which helps the depression!!

I used to be liberal, not a leftist, but i do admit I was a liberal. I also admit that I was a depressed drug addict for 23 years as well. Mostly opiates and alcohol. I got clean through a program that asks members to be “honest, open-minded, and willing. I did that. When my head cleared, I realized that I did not have all the answers, and started looking for them, instead of accepting media answers to questions that I did not ask. Furthermore, I realized that if I wanted to take care of myself and those around me, I could not get caught up in all the liberal causes that do not matter. I am now clean, healthy, happy, productive, and conservative.

In the American English textbooks I use in my classes, every other story is about saving the planet, social responsibility, Cesar Chavez, socially conscious business, recycling. This is for 4th and 5th grade. If they keep seeing this stuff, it WILL depress them. No way it wouldn't. They end up feeling helpless and hopeless. I asked my student Maria what she could do to save the planet (textbook prompted this question) she said, "well, I'm 11, so not much." I asked how that made her feel. She said, "I could bother my parents about it, I guess. Or I could do nothing, so I think I should be sad about it because I'm not old enough to do anything on my own." I asked her if she will be an activist when she gets older. she said, "well, I'm Chinese. A long time ago, we did this and it messed up a lot of things. This looks familiar. I don't think it's the right way." Of course, American kids have never dealt with brainwashing and reconditioning, so they accept it. I don't think they will ever believe otherwise until they've ruined society completely.

In my opinion, the depression chart shows that depression of Liberals is higher because it has become trendy in that demographic to be neurdivergent. Labeling themselves with their diagnoses has become commonplace to the point of that's "who" they are as a person. They ARE their diagnoses. If you really pay attention to them, they list every single diagnose in their social media profiles. I recently went through this with my young, impressionable daughter. She talks incessantly about being "ADHD." Not that she *has* ADHD, but that she *is* ADHD. We had to have several talks to squelch that way of thinking and she's doing better, but it is garbage that she picked up from her peers who *are,* as you'd expect, ADHD. These people are also diagnosing themselves because, again, it is trendy. It's as delusional as the "emotional support animal" craze.
Years ago now, they were trying to destigmatize mental illness. I think partly because some people refused to get treatment because they didn't' want people to know. Men were always told to 'man up' and if they couldn't, they'd off themselves. But now it's all flipped.

The world is at our fingertips so we indulge without limitation which has us craving for the initial experiences we felt when we first started doing whatever we indulge in. But the more we get it on-demand, the less satisfying & fulfilling it gets
Instant gratification is now in the 30-40 year old bracket. They are teaching their own kids that if something is difficult (particularly sports,) quit and go do something else or join a team that is already winning. When you teach that mindset, you are destroying your kids chances when they face the inevitable problems in adulthood. Nobody wants to earn anything anymore or try to improve themselves.

There's a literal farm down the road from me that has a monthly craft fair, animal swaps and whatnot. We never miss it and we need more stuff like that. Everyone is having a good time, laughing. People can bring their kids, dogs, crazy relatives we keep in the attic.... I've met some of my neighbors which is new because there's generally an acre between the houses.

Thank you, Kat. Every reality TV show has turned into that. American Idol, The Voice, and America Has Talent are all the same blurb fest we’re it’s more important for the contestant to inform the audience of a trauma rather than just perform.
The Sing-Off, an amazing 3 season only acapella competition, had one group come on and say how they were poor and living in shelters and had been arrested for petty theft, etc. And they said that if they didn't win, they would go back to that life. The way they said it or the way it was edited, it came across as "if you don't vote for us, we're going to be criminals." Their singing wasn't that great and they were voted off in the first episode.
Tyrus nailed it! First World Country Problems is very much a thing. These kids have NOTHING to complain about. They have everything. Let them gain some perspective on life.

In the American English textbooks I use in my classes, every other story is about saving the planet, social responsibility, Cesar Chavez, socially conscious business, recycling. This is for 4th and 5th grade. If they keep seeing this stuff, it WILL depress them. No way it wouldn't. They end up feeling helpless and hopeless. I asked my student Maria what she could do to save the planet (textbook prompted this question) she said, "well, I'm 11, so not much." I asked how that made her feel. She said, "I could bother my parents about it, I guess. Or I could do nothing, so I think I should be sad about it because I'm not old enough to do anything on my own." I asked her if she will be an activist when she gets older. she said, "well, I'm Chinese. A long time ago, we did this and it messed up a lot of things. This looks familiar. I don't think it's the right way." Of course, American kids have never dealt with brainwashing and reconditioning, so they accept it. I don't think they will ever believe otherwise until they've ruined society completely.

In my opinion, the depression chart shows that depression of Liberals is higher because it has become trendy in that demographic to be neurdivergent. Labeling themselves with their diagnoses has become commonplace to the point of that's "who" they are as a person. They ARE their diagnoses. If you really pay attention to them, they list every single diagnose in their social media profiles. I recently went through this with my young, impressionable daughter. She talks incessantly about being "ADHD." Not that she *has* ADHD, but that she *is* ADHD. We had to have several talks to squelch that way of thinking and she's doing better, but it is garbage that she picked up from her peers who *are,* as you'd expect, ADHD. These people are also diagnosing themselves because, again, it is trendy. It's as delusional as the "emotional support animal" craze.
Years ago now, they were trying to destigmatize mental illness. I think partly because some people refused to get treatment because they didn't' want people to know. Men were always told to 'man up' and if they couldn't, they'd off themselves. But now it's all flipped.
Omg yes my 12 year old literally constantly says she's ADHD or she'll talk about other illnesses like verbal ticks or whatever she may have and i just think what the heck she definitely is not ADHD has no ticks I mean she's perfectly healthy but it's like she WANTS to have something wrong w her it's very odd. I see it on social media a lot like the one video the girl claims she has like 17 personalities I think it's just another kind of trend like the trans thing.

The instant gratification available in the modern world has worn out our reward systems. The world is at our fingertips so we indulge without limitation which has us craving for the initial experiences we felt when we first started doing whatever we indulge in. But the more we get it on-demand, the less satisfying & fulfilling it gets
Instant gratification is now in the 30-40 year old bracket. They are teaching their own kids that if something is difficult (particularly sports,) quit and go do something else or join a team that is already winning. When you teach that mindset, you are destroying your kids chances when they face the inevitable problems in adulthood. Nobody wants to earn anything anymore or try to improve themselves.
Most don't have hobbies and that causes mental discomfort. Depression is just anger without enthusiasm.

There's a literal farm down the road from me that has a monthly craft fair, animal swaps and whatnot. We never miss it and we need more stuff like that. Everyone is having a good time, laughing. People can bring their kids, dogs, crazy relatives we keep in the attic.... I've met some of my neighbors which is new because there's generally an acre between the houses.
