If that was so, Jill Stein would easily have achieved her prerequisite 5%. The electoral count is manipulated as are the legacy media who tout for the teams who fund and favor them. The DNC manage their plausibly genocidal propaganda by omission. The RNC are similarly corrupt but naively show it.

The soldiers (the most advanced troops of s.korea) left apologizing and giving hugs to the civilians tried their best to not hurt anyone and cause any damage. The lawmakers climbed the fence to gather in the national assembly at midnight within 1.5 hr of declaration and lifted the martial law. They should recover this so other countries can learn from it

They were special forces some of the most toughest and well trained members of the military. If they really wanted to, they could've stormed and took over the entire building in no time. Yet, they were left scuffling, pushing and taking beatings from their citizens without really retaliating. Just taking hits and hits, some physical but mostly verbal. They, too, were on the peoples side. They were doing the motion to execute an order but never enthusiastic or focused on its success. Thank God.

      Please pray for South Korea.
Currently, South Korea is engaged in a battle against pro-communist left-wing factions that operate under the guise of democracy.
A few days ago, President Yun exercised his constitutional authority to declare martial law. However, the National Assembly nullified it through their decision. As a result, President Yun is now facing potential impeachment, charges of treason, and an investigation for alleged illegal actions.
The reason for declaring martial law was to secure evidence from the National Election Commission regarding illegal activities in the last two parliamentary elections and the presidential election.
Electoral fraud is widespread in South Korea, yet no one can legally investigate the National Election Commission. Martial law was the only means available for the president to launch a legitimate investigation. President Yoon already possessed evidence and information indicating that the Democratic Party's 192 seats were fraudulently obtained through rigged elections. He intended to use the martial law declaration to investigate this.
The implementation of martial law was peaceful, with no harm caused to anyone, and there was no military interference in the National Assembly’s voting process. This reflects President Yoon’s directive to prioritize public safety. However, the criminal leftist Democratic Party is falsely portraying the president’s legitimate exercise of authority as a national rebellion. Their motive is to prevent exposure of their crimes, given that their majority was obtained through fraudulent elections. They are now intensifying efforts to demonize President Yoon and push for his impeachment.
It is crucial for you to understand that South Korea is currently heavily left-leaning. The media, influenced by Chinese capital, continuously spreads false propaganda against President Yoon. Martial law is a legal authority the president can exercise during a state of emergency.
Furthermore, the major opposition party, which holds nearly two-thirds of the seats in parliament, is actively working to remove the president. They have slashed critical budgets, raised their own salaries, and increased funding for projects favored by China. They have also attempted to impeach 22 government officials, effectively rendering the president powerless and unable to take meaningful actions.
Conservative citizens in Korea are determined to fight against the pro-communist leftists until the end. Please share this situation with people in the United States and let President Trump know that President Yun is fighting to expose election fraud, just as President Trump did, and will continue to do so until the truth is revealed
      Thank you.

Actually, if this had been the first martial law in South Korea's history, it might have succeeded. People wouldn’t have known what it was.
But the martial law that my parents' generation experienced 40 years ago meant something completely different. Back then, the streets were always filled with tear gas smoke, soldiers dragged away the arms and legs of my parents’ friends, fired guns, and left bloodstains on the roads.
Some people were tortured to the brink of death-their "crime" being that they stood against the dictator. And at night, no one could step outside their homes freely. Through my parents, I was able to hear these stories so vividly that it feels as though I experienced them myself.
For the Korean people, martial law is more than just trauma-it’s almost like PTSD.

Politicians jumped fences and hid in secret offices to avoid arrest before the vote. Everyone did their part. This is what is required to preserve democracy within hours in the dead of night. People outside of South Korean have no idea what really took place last night, and the severity of it. Including myself, until I saw the released CCTV footage of the "South Korean National Assembly" grounds. The CCTV footage showed "3 Military Helicopters" landing on its grounds with 100's of military men running towards the National Assembly doors. The CCTV then shows the military breaking the Windows and door of the National Assembly.
Imagine if this happened in the United States, where 3 US Military Helicopter lands on the US Capitol grounds with 100's of American Soldiers inside. And then you witness these 100's soldiers running towards the US Capitol and starts breaking its windows and doors.
This is exactly what happened in South Korean last night. So South Koreans witnessed 100's of Military Vehicles and Helicopters flying low over their homes and the capital, for the first time after 50 years of democracy. And all this happened during night time, where some thought there were at war. I can't imagine how scary that must have been.
I send my gratitude to all the brave South Koreans who came out to protest last night. Including the 190 lawmakers who voted against the Martial Law.

As a Korean, let me provide some context. Yoon Suk-yeol's father was allegedly a collaborator with Japan during its occupation of Korea. From a young age, Yoon was reportedly taught pro-Japanese colonial views and a distorted understanding of history. After Japan’s sudden withdrawal, the division of Korea, and the establishment of democratic South Korea, the government was formed without properly addressing the collaborators and traitors who had sided with Japan during the colonial period. These individuals often eliminated political opponents by labeling them as "communists," a tactic that has persisted in Korean society.
Even today, those with differing opinions in South Korea are sometimes framed as "communists" to silence dissent. When Yoon and his wife faced potential legal investigation for personal misconduct through a special probe, they allegedly claimed that "communists acting under North Korean orders are creating chaos" and used this as an excuse to declare martial law.
The reality is that nearly all South Koreans-more than 99.99%-value democracy and understand the hardships of North Korea’s communist regime, leaving almost no one openly advocating for communism in South Korea. However, Korea's conservative elites have long used the narrative that "progressives are communists" to consolidate power. This framing has grown to the extent that even extreme measures like martial law have been justified with such baseless excuses.
Yoon's martial law declaration contains absurd claims, but when viewed in this historical and ideological context, it becomes clearer why such actions and narratives are possible. Understanding this background helps shed light on the motivations behind these developments.

President Yoon, a former prosecutor general, leveraged his control over the prosecution in an attempt to politically eliminate the opposition party leader, who commands a two-thirds majority in Congress. However, his efforts failed, leaving him increasingly isolated, In a
last-ditch attempt to retain power, he
    resorted to declaring martial law,
This drastic measure also aimed to deflect attention from mounting corruption scandals involving himself, his family, and his inner circle, Allegations include the First Lady's bribery(luxury handbags and etc), stock manipulation, land speculation, the suppression of investigations into drug smuggling and more.

Most ppl I know were cracking jokes right away bc actual imposition of martial law right now is so beyond the realm of reason or possibility or feasibility. It was more of a troll political suicide more than anything. Literally the man had a 20% approval rating and lacked a power base in the people, media, military, and even his own party that there was no way any one was going to support this. Just look at the military half heartedly not rlly barring the lawmakers.

There was a tip sent to one of the lawmakers that a martial law was about to be enforced. The opposition party quickly mobilized into the Assembly building to cast their ballots. There were instances where orders directed by the President were defied or carried out only half way. There were commanders in the chain of command who refused to acknowledge and follow illegal orders, which is commendable. Also, the soldiers themselves thought using live ammunitions were wrong and decided not to load them onto their weapons and sling their rifles behind their back in a holding position and not a low ready position like on patrol or missions. In all, a lot of things aligned perfectly to stop this illegal move by a crazy President. Another win for democracy.

For all the years I have been here I am still frequently surprised by the durability of exceptionalist beliefs among Americans, which are prevalent across the political spectrum, though they may be expressed in different ways.
I’ve often thought that it would be beneficial if more came to see the country-despite its size, power, and the danger it presents to the rest of the world-as just another nation-state, which like other nation-states could well experience a long period of authoritarian rule.

The ultra-conservative Pr. Yoon had a stubborn, dictatorial ideology, was often caught lying, and had been under intense pressure from the opposition for his wife's corruption, his own corruption and incompetence. The opposition party eventually cut all of his regime's wasteful state budget, and Yoon pushed the opposition party toward an anti-state organization. As soon as the new Yoon's hard-to-speak irregularities were revealed, he immediately hurried to conduct illegal martial law on the same night. Most of the soldiers didn't know why they came to the National Assembly, and just did what their superiors who is department of Defense (who is an Yoon's schoolmate) told them to do.
And today there is a more serious problem with the current regime, and I will stop here.

If Korea had been a military that did not know Yeouido in the 1970s or 1980s, there would have been bloodshed. However, Korea has the world's highest level of education among its citizens. The young soldiers were also strange, and they had to obey orders, so they thought they would get hurt while fighting with citizens, so they broke windows where citizens were not present. This was possible because it was a conscious action by heavily armed soldiers.
Think about it! They were ordered to be North Korean soldiers, but there were citizens in Yeouido without a single weapon. The conscious action of Korean soldiers saved the citizens.
That is why the irresponsible commander-in-chief who does not protect the lives of citizens must disappear.
Korea is one body of citizens and soldiers.
The ignorant commander-in-chief thinks Korean soldiers and citizens are people from 40 years ago who do not know the National Assembly in Yeouido.

@@stoplyingabout "more independent" is the best a U.S. puppet state can hope for? Yes, you are probably right, our elites in the U.S. tend to topple any government that puts their own people before the interest of American elites. They would stop brainwashing us against their rivals if those rivals would simply submit. Our leaders would stop attempting to contain China, stop trying to foment rebellion in Russia, and stop trying to topple Iran if the governments there would just allow our elites to dictate policy in those nations. Facts.
To answer your question directly, a marginally independent Korea would look like a marginally independent Philippians: violence prone and corrupt. The same as Hong Kong when it was marginally independent. In contrast, Japan is largely independent and it's people do quite well. Vietnam is completely independent and the welfare of it's people have greatly increased despite a ruinous war and the nuclear and biological poisoning by the U.S. and the lasting effects that war crime continues to have. S. Korea is advanced and prosperous like completely independent Singapore though, so a moderately or completely independent Korea might look a bit more like Singapore.
