  • In this first installment of the upgrades to my solar system, I tear down my old battery setup and install my 8 new EVE 3.2V 280Ah cells into two battery packs to be connected in parallel.

LifePoo4 cells must be compressed per manufacturer spec if you want to increase their life time by 30% compare to no compression. You tape around is not enough, rad your cell manual and you will see a 300 kg (about 650 pounds) to be applied as what they call "compression device".

Verbatim info on battery box from the manufacturer documentation:
      9.3.8 Battery box design considerations
      a) The battery box should have sufficient mechanical strength to prevent the internal battery from
      mechanical impact.
      b) There should be no sharp corners in the location for placing the battery inside the box.
      c) The measurements for increasing air convection, waterproof and dustproof and others are
      needed.
      (nothing with regards to compression)

hello, I would like to know how much the battery voltage drops when turning on a 3kW appliance with old batteries and by how much with these newly installed batteries? Can you feel the difference in the hardness of the battery?
