- On this episode we take you along for a deep dive into "Snot Rocket V2", Brett Lasala's 2500WHP Coyote Mustang. Utilizing an FFRE engine combo with Manley internals and Precision turbos it's run deep into the 6's in the 1/4 mile. What's even more impressive is the car is still using a factory ford crank along with many other factory ford parts! Enjoy the story of how the Snot Rocket came to life and our full bumper to bumper build breakdown!
It's crazy that cleetus admitted that he had to dump the 427 7.0L cause he couldn't make the power mullet needed to run 6s and be reliable, yet here we are watching a video of a 5.0L small block ford hitting 9200RPM, making 2500+whp and running mid 6s. Just shows how good that 5.0L is that ford developed.
It's probably still possible for an LS to do it but the Big block made more sense for what he wants to do. He's going to go a lot deeper into a territory that's probably not possible for a coyote or an LS.
I think mullet is heavier, maybe even a lot heavier? Not taking anything away from that coyote, it is amazing .
@@brianbob7514 Yeah, Mullet weighs something like 3,500+ lbs., so they were having to throw absolutely crazy amounts of boost at the launch to get all that mass moving. They were changing rod bearings after almost every event they ran just because of how much load that 427 was under, so stepping up to a big block was the obvious choice.
@@Usmc913 Mod-Motors have been 5’s in the 1/4 for for over 8 yrs now. First one was a stock block & head 4.6 making 3500hp no LS will ever do that. That’s the reason he went for thea Steve Morris built custom billet big block. And this stock head block coyote was running right next to it. Ford knew what they were doing with the mod motor.
Just in the side by side race 12:02. You can tell how much heavier Mullet is when they get on the brakes at the big end. Mullet keeps speed way longer. Think it's like 3700 with Cleeter.
That race with cleetus was awesome
Holy fuck the numbers it made, the factory parts, the time it took to put this car together, the times it ran all are amazing & should be acknowledged. This is more than a race car…it’s art
To much going on to get free insurance it twk s
The 5.0 is and always was legendary
Yes even the 5.0 from the 80’s
@@CoyoteFTW yessir
Legendary? You mean for a dumbass kid who watches drug dealers drive by in there 5.0 mustang I can see how you would be amazed but for real car guys it's the splitting in half that makes it shit under boost which is why most fix body's and Early 2000 mustang have LS in them
Yeah a few years ago our race team built some circle track cars 🚗 with mostly stock 302s and won some 100 or so races in a 5 year period on a three eight length circle track and that's just one car 🚗
The Cleveland 351 yes.
Ford part numbers on just about everything. Gota love it
Keep us Coyote guys proud, love what your doing. 🔥🤘👍🏻
Guys like you and THE RS crew... paving the way... and ensuring OUR SUCCESSES... by sharing the formulas, PROVEN TIME, AND TIMESLIP's again. KUDO'S to you, Jay... and the whole RS crew... again! Thank you!
Respectfully, Seth
It's absolutely crazy how far the LS and Coyote platform/ engines have come! What a time to be alive and in this community. Seriously that car is fucking sick!!!
No LS is making this power with stock anything the Coyote is on another level.
@@CoyoteFTW did I say anything about them being stock? Can't you just admit that both platforms'progressions are impressive?
I wouldn't be caught dead on a twisty style road race track with an LS. As for drags...a big block.
@@Usmc913- No because the LS isnt near as good as the Coyote that’s just not true.
@@CoyoteFTW you are delusional if you think anything about this coyote based block is stock. They are using FFRE race engine developed coyote block.
or there is another company TKM that does development on coyote based blocks for race purposes.
A stock coyote crate motor from ford performance is is 11k after shipping and applicable taxes; these coyote race blocks alone are north of 12k before shipping or applicable taxes. lol
These motors are amazing
I appreciate these long videos! That car is a work of art!
Trc you killed the last two. The talon and this one. You guys are making killer killer content. Love it.
Pretty impressive what the coyote has proven to be 💯
Hats Off To These Guys & Their Build!
Awesome car and humble owner!
Impressed that it still uses an air to air intercooler instead of air to water icebox.
AWESOME Numbers !!!
60 Foot of 1.09 and looking forward to a 1.07 or 1.06 -- Unreal...
Beautiful Fast Car !!!
Thank you for the video
and sharing your info and data.
Awesome video awesome car keep on doing it for us brother Ford power forever keep on pulling the knot out of them bow ties
Nice ride. I sold the rear wheels that are on the car to Joel. They still look great! Congrats on your success.
How true straight that car stays is insane
This car is currently my favorite race car . Even the color is amazing.
I think the best part of this video that most people don’t understand is following both of these guys religiously and a cleet fan for along time, is watching the struggles over the years and seeing them both overcoming the odds. Great work dudes. A huge fan of both builds. Both are sick rides. ❤
9.2k rpm from a v8 😱
And a small block V8 at that
This is a year ago, wait to see SR in modern times!!
Ford coyote for the win!!
I heard "came big blockin around me" and about spit out my drink
Great instructional video on how to make a go fast machine. I want one. Beautiful race car from one and to the other. Super job building this monster.
Now that, is quite a bit of power😂
Love the quiet, don’t look at me paint job. Looks like Gotta Have it Green
Coyote Powah 💪
It’s a sleeved predator block running a GM transmission and still slower than Tom Bailey Lmao cope
Awesome journey , bad a$$ car ! Best of luck in the future ! 🏁
It's crazy that the engine cranks more rpms than a Nascar engine
That Cletus vs the mustang race brother…. Oh my god I was yelling at the tv, it’s 1 in the morning…. LOL.
9200 RPM is that foreign car status😵
Nah, V10s running 10k and imports running 10500+
@@Shadowboostname one
@@Shadowboostlol you sounds so dumb.. like the previous guy said name one buddy
@@jacob1423 exactly. People will say whatever comes to their mind and then say it with the kind of conviction like its a fact.
I've turned a built big block Chevy to 8600 rpm, pro stock cars turn more rpm with push rods. The last ls I built would turn 7800 with nothing really out of the ordinary. With a dohc set-up it should be able to rev, that's the whole reason behind that technology, it came from motorcycles that regularly see 16,000.
If I ever win the lotto, this is what I want.
Hell yeah. I agree, fuck getting a exotic I want some like this. Well also and exotic for the street lol.
poor bastard... your goals are so low
What do you think it would cost to build that exact car from scratch?? Ballpark. Just curious.
@@theariesexperiment4642 depends who does it some chassis shops are insanely high and will be 200+ but could be done for 100
Good luck to you and your Team... love old-time evening and weekend working class building racers, the way the sport use to be and needs to be to survive!
Love seeing quality auzzie parts 🇳🇿, plazmaman & Shauns custom alloy plenums & intercoolers
Him: First time driving in snow 😄 ❄️
Colorado: hold my beer 🍺
Beautiful Stang. Extreme Green
Coyote is King 👑
Love the color! On my nails right now. 😍
Can you imagine what another 100, or 200 cubic inches (like the Coyote's competition) would do with the basic Coyote design!! The rest of the world would surely suffer... I'm very curious to see where Cleetus' Mcflurry is going to end up in a few years.
When Garrets car locks up on the big end it's like a damn freight train.
with at least 2500 % less torque but it's cool, i may be wrong but some diesel locomotive can go up to 60 000 lb ft of torque and other source say 25 up to 35 K . The car motor has 1.100 lb ft on the dyno.
@@SledgeHammerMindOpener we get it, you like trains
@@creedns not really i just like good
analogy hp and torque are not the same thing.
@@SledgeHammerMindOpener bet you're fun at parties
LS guys are triggered AF 😂.
Why? That’s your coyote got eaten by a truck?
@@abelthomas2406- why are you talking like he’s running and LS under there. Fact is the LS can’t compete with coyote or mod motors
Absolutely. Ford never had any fluff, nor quitters in their race engine and Coyote programs. A superior product. I am a Mopar guy, but I would have a Coyote over a Hellcat or Hellcrate any day. No denying how good this V8 is.
@@abelthomas2406you sound so dumb is mesmerizing. These other guys straightened your silly ass up no more to be said
@@itscoming9409 or u just got nothing to say, I’m not the one who brought LS into this…it’s a dope car but don’t say “LS guys triggered” and then that car gets pulled on by a Chevy car
Yeah. That Steve Morris motor in Mullet is an absolute monster. It is hard to deal with on the big end.
No one will acknowledge your comment here but I will.
Well yea it’s a 540 ci engine with twins. It got a 302 ci engine with twins by a bumper. That’s wild
What a nice guy.
Not even a bullet block coyotes are badass
And what if bullet block it well be game over☠️☠️
Ford power ftw 💪🇺🇲
Snot Rocket keeps showing up in my feed
YOTE >
I wonder if they have run into Andrew Lavender? He runs a 4.6 block and runs bowling green mod nats alot because he is from the area, i think. White new edge. I havent seen any new videos of his lately. But he builds his car in his home garage, besides getting his block machinery done.
Happy New Year~
Absolutely NASTY!!!
Good job 👌👌👌
I love the Corolla project was spot-on! "Yes you could've used a V6 /turbo and. Yatta-freakin Yatta! Thumbs up to ya!....
For people saying mullet needed a big block to go 6s but this coyote went 6s. Here’s the thing mullet is a horrible chassis to go fast with, it wouldn’t go 6s with that 5.0 either. Still an awesome care but that stang is a way better chassis then mullet.
Miss piggy got no chance catching that.... 😎🇬🇧✌👍👊
Badass car and badass video......Ford La luz
Badass drag race
Sorry! New tuner... Commenting on the yota'2rolla" (I totally nostalgicly agree with the beefinjection
Awesome vid
So much better than an ls
Nice with Back up camera
Real $T that what am talking ABOUT snot 🚀 rocket
AMAZING 👏
Just waiting on the LS guys comments....... 🍿
One can only dream.
❤❤😂😢😮😅😊 I love that Mustang and keep up with the speed and make it faster. Make sure which is fast enough so you could spank the Camaros and the hellcats and all the other Chevy products and Dodge products for all the way with my book I’ve been driving forward since I’ve been having my license in the 86 keep up the good work peace take care and merry Christmas
Gah… damn! That intro
Which generation coyote he has?
Street legal where I live.
YES
Any numbers on this car? Weight, engine size, turbo size, boost?
Nice Mustang, What color green is it?? Thanks
what’s kind of head cylinder you run in that engine gt350 or coyote and which crank ?
What transmission is in it?
th400 from M&M Transmissions
It made 1500ft lbs
and went past 9k
Awesomesauce
Great Job.. Amazing.. I have zero buyer's remorse..............
It sounded like it bogged a little when it went into high gear for a second that could be a big difference in time
That’s the converter locking up
That's gotta be the horsepower record for a factory coyote block right? I had always heard they blow up past 2000 whp?
Awesome car! Very simple car compared to Baileys! Do you think you can get it in the 5's? Good luck!
Who knows? It might be possible but the jump from 6s to 5s if fucking drastic.
@@mikec9112 it was in a tube car too
@Mike C you need like a tub on wheels to run that, which has no semblance to a street car
@@mikec9112 never said it wasn't possible. All I said was the jump from 6s to 5s is huge.
I'm Here!
If you want to see some coyote go fast.... mmr ~ modular mustang racing has 3,000hp beast !
Stock engine right ?
Built GTR"s make this much and more, WITH 2 LESS PISTONS! That's what's really impressive, AND IM A FORD GUY.
The mmr 5.0 has made 4500+ , but yeah gtr’s are impressive also
How many stock parts?
C'mon man, what was in that 66' El Camino,
and why is it beating you?
Coyote > LS
Yote FTW
How much $ went into the build
Yes but the real question is can you keep up with mullets because that car is on it's way to the 5s!
Doesn’t matter if he can keep up with mullet or not. Mullet has a big block smx by Steve morris. This mustang is a stock block from ford. Ford part numbers all over that engine there isn’t a stock block Ls on the planet that can do what a coyote can
@@itscoming9409 why do people argue when they don’t know what they are talking about? Garrett isn’t running an SMX engine, Mullet doesn’t have one nor is it planned to have one. The part number claim isn’t really valid, the block is Ford, the rotating assembly isn’t. There’s nothing “stock” about this motor besides the block and both Ford and GM have made stupid numbers on stock blocks for decades. His claim is a straight up misdirected lie. It’s dry sump FFS and people are claiming a fiberglass bodied, dry-sumped not street legal mustang is the better car because they aren’t smart enough to see these cars aren’t made for the same application and saying the Coyote is better. You’re all idiots.
There ain’t a stock block ls on the planet that can do what the stock 4.6 teksid block did over a decade ago in mihovitz car 🦅🦅
wow
🦊coyote et 🐥leteel bip bip ford chevy 😁😁
That’s still a large engine. Talkin 5.0L Multi valve OHC V8. What’s more amazing is a 2.4L in-line 4 making 2300 hp doing 5.80s at the 1/4 in a out law chassis. It’s all about how much air and fuel you can get through that air pump. It takes a lot of technology, engineering and RPM to make that kind of power in a much smaller pkg. By comparison the 2.4L 4 is making 575hp per piston vs the 5.0 8 making 313.25hp per piston. Betcha, that 4 is probably up to 11,000-12,000 RPM at 85-90psi boost! Doing that multiple times on a track. Crazy!
They’re definitely not running those numbers on mostly factory components though
@@braytonbrackemyre363 neither is this Coyote. Nothing about it is stock except maybe the block is untouched. That’s not impressive, both GM and Ford have been making stupid power on stock blocks. Nothing about this engine is even remotely close to as stock as he’s trying to make it sound.
Mmr has a pro mod version of the 5.0 making 4500+ lol, they run about 50-60k , isn’t that equally impressive to half the engine making half the power ?
They are making huge power with stock heads , stock crankshaft , stock block - a lot of the parts in these are 100% oem .
Mihovitz set the record years ago for a mod motor with a 4.6 teksid block and the factory forged crank .. ran 5.8x if I recall
His shovel doesn't dig !
C est bip bip chevy l oiseaux le plus rapide du désert et ce coyote qui veux a tout prie attraper bip bip l oiseaux chevy yeeer 😁😁😁🇺🇸

I thought u cant boost a coyote bc the compression ratio
🤣 what? You can't be serious
@@grabbercoyote1775 seriously

My car is 12:1 , and makes 1478 whp on 32 psi - on e85 , and has no issue handling that compression . These coyotes are phenomenal - and I used to be a die hard ls guy
I just gotta say i really dont know why Dodge ever got rid of the 5.2 318, imagine where it would be today along side the 5.0. Quirks worked out. Bulletproof reliable. Could have even been fast
