fun fact after you start the fight you can take the disc out of the console and the ai locks up casting symbology because it can't load the attack. as long as you just use skills or wail on them while they're perpetually charging their speell you can't lose. once they die just pop the disc back in and resume.
I finished every final fantasy hardest boss, Yizamat, penance, omega etc, this lil girl in star ocean had me coming back over and over, still haven't defeated her. Bravo lad, for this victory!
Man this boss beat the shit out of me and i had to go back and level up my characters. I did beat it and it was one of the few secret bosses that has given me a sense of accomplishment.
@I am gay I'd took neither of them and rather play game that let you select the difficulty from the get go, besides there isn't that much game that require DLC to get the hardest difficulty and all the game I can think of that does that are free DLC or just updates so yeah don't see a problem with that.

Well on earth/galaxy mode 5000 defense nulls ether strike/all physical damage at 0 per hit they can cause but not even 9999 defense will null it on 4d mode and its not even possible to get 9999 defense. the 8x attack and defense +30% BoP setup on all 8 weapon slots +2 more BoP's equipped (accessory slots) will only boost defense to 5000 to 6000 which ONLY works on Earth/Galaxy mode against physical hits.
My strategy for this fight was to Solo Cliff. Stun her with an item, then Berserk Chain Max Shockwave so as to keep pushing her to the other side of the arena (Item cooldown resets by this point). It eats through your inventory but it keeps you from being hit, netting you the No Damage vs. 4D Freya BT (plus you won't be needing those stunning items by that point anymore) without a hitch.
Hasan Kavakci When i first went against her in 4D, i tried to do a Maria and Sophia duo. But Using more than 1person in this fight just complicated things for me. I was only able to beat her with a maria solo using aiming device\energy burst combo, (the magnetic field\energy burst combo wouldn't work for me for some reason.)
The difference is star ocean being an rpg requires preparation with training and leveling,so its just more time consuming,where as bayonetta solely relies on your fighting skills,as some people ive seen taking no damage on climax on all levels,including angel slayer..,even so taking no damage in some of these fights is a freaking pain to,like with lenneth,her fields so small and her attacks so big
With max stats on weapons and the best armors crafted, you can actually get just above 5k defense and she does 0 damage to you. That's no fun though, so I fight her with about 4.7k and brawl with her. 🤣🤣
You need to hold the buttons.1. Normal Press, normal attack button > 2.Hold Press magnetic field - release > 3. Hold Press Energy Burst. You just need to have the feeling to do it.

Her ether strike was a son a bitch. I had a pretty wicked set up though and still went all in. On Fayt I changed it so instead of losing HP from damage you can change it to lose MP from enemies attacking you. You can then equip items so he regains like 30% MP every few seconds which was basically like him healing for 30% HP every second. Still didn't beat this boss though because I could never run to the corner fast enough when freya used ether strike. But it was awesome, imagine gaining 30k hp every few seconds and not being able to beat this boss... Still have the the PS2 game and this is by far still my favorite game, might have to replay it and make better choices synthesizing my weapons.
If you fill out the ultimate weapons with boots of prowess plus 30% atk/def in the 7 open slots after +1,000 atk , you'll have enough defense to brawl with her a good bit with about 4k-5k defense at lvl 255. Ether strike is still overpowered though and she can spam it lol. It takes a TON of patience and restarting to craft them all perfectly, unfortunately.

That said, I still think the idea of no MP killing you is a dumb idea. I have to wonder though, does this game still stack up? I wanted to replay it, but I don't have the willpower anymore.
Well it's still a fun game, but it's a heck of a lot harder than your run of the mill RPG, especially after you replay through it at the higher difficulty levels.

@@invertbrid I remember when I beat this fight on Galaxy, I spent the entire fight as Maria spamming Angel Feather so that Fayt and Roger didn't die while they went to town on Freya!! Even with synthesis, victory in this fight is almost NEVER a guarantee!!!

In Galaxy there's a way to beat her easily. All you need is to synth a Veinslay with 8 maxed out Boots of Prowess then max synth another two Boots of Prowess and equip it all on Fayt then use all the defense stat increasing berries on him too. With a 5k defense Fayt, Freya is going to do 0 damage.
I remember you had to have the right equipment to fight lenneth and Freya and having Fayt, Cliff, and Maria made it ten times easier but the battle was still a pain.
id actually say the biggest challenge in bayonetta is trying to get the score high,somehow everytime I think ive got it good its always plain gold,and when I think I sucked I get platinum.one thing I always wished about star ocean was if they made getting and keeping the trophies easier,like being able to have multiple files that can get them,or be able to transfer them,especially since the last prize isn't even that useful,even with prep though,i never wanna fight 4D Freya for no damage again

do you know why it would be running REALLY slow? i get around 19 FPS...i thought it was weird cause i normally get like 40 ish FPS on other games like League of Legends and stuff like that...could you tell me if you know a reason for it?

I was doing alot more damage against her then this person is i had same team tho. My maria's energy burst was hitting for 267k on average and cliffs max shock wave gave me 300k and distance/ stall time Fayt was Healer and a darn good 1 lol
i dont know which game u tried, but i asume it was SO3? it could be the settings u choosed to make the game run slower so u would need to tweak it ur self to get ur playable settings. The emulators always will have a bigger recruitment when it comes to playing games on full FPS (depends which games), u can google it why. games like LoL are full games that are not even close to the recruitment that a emulator asks for, cuz the emulator is high CPU / GPU demanding.
Gotta play with your settings. Software Mode could work but that probably kills your fps. Hardware by playing around with scaling natieves. Change the EE / VU cycles.

@Ralph Coronado however in SO5,the vortexes you enter from the fields (at random) do transport you to “Cathedral of Oblivion” which is also present in Valkyrie Profile. SO5 takes place in 561SD while SO3 takes place at about 714 SD,therefore it would make sense the gods would be present in the universe’s final years. You could chalk it up to tri-Ace lovingto bring back cameos to other games from their own production in extra dungeon post game content.

I'm. Sorry if my opinion bothers. You in any way but if you if you create stunning items to use on her every time she attacks and use bersek on Maria and fayth with fayths ethereal blast and Maria's. Energy burst this barley shouldn't last long because of the MP attack they will give to this mini version of Freya I like the video though.
If I would use stunning items everytime she does a single attack, there might be a opening for her to use Ether Strike during the item cooldown or i would run out of stunning items. it would be a lot faster that way, but more risky tho.

Screw this boss. Seriously, for some reason in my game, the ONLY attack she would use was her Ether Strike, and NOTHING else! She would rush up as I was setting up my characters, and quickly use it, killing my party. I was even really close to max level as well, 255, and had some good gear on them (same team as in the video as well). Geh... maybe I was just unlucky or something, through that week I tried to beat her...
KHMDarkness I used detention door to stun her and ethereal blast for damage also my other characters just beat the shit out of her and one was for specific healing and revival and keep bar battle setting to run away all u need to do was heal her mp I did have all the best gear too and it didnt take me this long to kill her

I used Sophie instead of Marie, her movement speed is too slow for me even with movement boost and her defense even with 3x boots of process (90% def/atk) it wasn't worth anything. Spamming max shockwave and ethereal blast made this smooth and kinda unnecessarily long.
I played through it many times, I only was able to get 4d unlocked with just the strategy guide (I had no internet when the game released), but yeah it would only take awhile to do it now I guess.
Lenneth has much more build up and she looks so weak as you encounter her, falling over and everything trying to summon. Then you finally fight her on floor 210 and she kills you VERY fast. 🤣🤣🤣

I remember this fight.. and I remember SPAMMING the stun duck bombs and spamming my most powerful abilities over and over.
So marvel universe Ryu hadoken for a long 30 minute boss fight was the strategy. I'll keep that in mind.

pcsx2 is the only ps2 emulator that i know. google pcsx2 and u find it there.

i dont know which game u tried, but i asume it was SO3? it could be the settings u choosed to make the game run slower so u would need to tweak it ur self to get ur playable settings. What? Freya is the last boss in SC 3? Are Valkyie Profile and Star Ocean worlds somewhat interrelated?

You need to set a second button for O at half sensitivity
( i used what is normally the select button) this works fine on keyboards too

That is a pretty dumb drop being Sacred Ether. Like you craft Sophia a better weapon by this point 💀
I'm. Sorry if my opinion bothers. You in any way but if you if you create stunning items to use on her every time she attacks and use bersek on Maria and fayth with fayths ethereal blast and Maria's. Energy burst this barley shouldn't last long because of the MP attack they will give to this mini version of Freya I like the video though.
If I would use stunning items everytime she does a single attack, there might be a opening for her to use Ether Strike during the item cooldown or i would run out of stunning items. it would be a lot faster that way, but more risky tho.
I guess we have our own ways to do it. I mean. I'm barely 13 and this game was a gift from my cousin and well I did beat freya in manual battle.but anyways you are really good at playing this game.how can you record that clear it looks good and I'm. Trying. To learn.

Screw this boss. Seriously, for some reason in my game, the ONLY attack she would use was her Ether Strike, and NOTHING else! She would rush up as I was setting up my characters, and quickly use it, killing my party. I was even really close to max level as well, 255, and had some good gear on them (same team as in the video as well).
Geh... maybe I was just unlucky or something, through that week I tried to beat her...
KHMDarkness I used detention door to stun her and ethereal blast for damage also my other characters just beat the shit out of her and one was for specific healing and revival and keep bar battle setting to run away all u need to do was heal her mp I did have all the best gear too and it didnt take me this long to kill her
I beat her on 4-d solo with cliff spamin max shockwave

I used Sophie instead of Marie, her movement speed is too slow for me even with movement boost and her defense even with 3x boots of process (90% def/atk) it wasn't worth anything. Spamming max shockwave and ethereal blast made this smooth and kinda unnecessarily long.
sophie is like ariel from final fantasy 7 except battlemage

convert dammage skill, it makes it so that you can either preserve hp by taking 1 mp dammage for every 7 hp or 7 hp dammage for every mp

I played through it many times, I only was able to get 4d unlocked with just the strategy guide (I had no internet when the game released), but yeah it would only take awhile to do it now I guess.

Lenneth has much more build up and she looks so weak as you encounter her, falling over and everything trying to summon. Then you finally fight her on floor 210 and she kills you VERY fast. 🤣🤣🤣

but my fps is about 1000x more stable on league
