This is cool. It's funny how you can tell from the video that the script was a lot worse at this point. It was tightened up a lot before the movie was shot. Especially that scene with Dr. Guggenheim, I can't imagine if they left it the way it was in this video, that would have been terrible.
@@kadennemec2354 Schwartzman is Francis Ford Coppola’s nephew. I didn’t look up the comments but they were probably saying that he only got the part because of the relatives. Stefanella was talking about this, i think.
Oh yeah. Him and Nicholas Cage are cousins. I see the resemblance...Jason Schwartzman is always talking really softly OR EXTREMELY LOUDLY! There's always at least one scene in his movies where shit's on fire! I love Jason. I also love his brother. Jason's seems to have a lot of swag, even back then in his youth. He needed to keep those brows so that he could be taken for more than just a poetically beautiful face.
i have no problem with him, actually i like him, as an actor, LOVED HIM IN RUSHMORE!!!! btw, i just found out he's half italian, and he's related to nick cage and the coppola's. cool....
According to him in the commentary, he also shaved all his chest/back hair off too, though it didn’t figure much into the actual shooting. He points out it wasn’t a crazy amount of hair to shave, that “I’m not Sasquatch.” For some reason all these years later having listened to it a good 10+ years ago his line delivery still amuses me.
Marc Maron really got a lot of info out of jason on his podcast. It was a very interesting conversation and story. But still... I could probably be an actor if my uncle was a famous director who put on a creative retreat for family with casting directors at the showcase. Phantom planet was good and legit, though.
He is just perfect for the part, no one else could’ve done it like him
it's so crazy to me that he had no prior acting experience.
KInda in his DNA. sometimes that's enough.
His mom is an actor, he said she taught him how to act
we love a queen that saves latin
He's a man.

Can everyone stop talking about his family, yea he had connections and was smart enough to use them. Its a good movie so just watch it
What do you mean

I love his voice.
rich and famous family or not, this is very good
Rushmore and Doctor Zhivago are my two all-time favorite movies.

@baglemonkey It's actually amazing the web that Wes and his actors have together!
Love him so much😍😊
I know who his family is, however, this was his first job acting. Do a little research on Jason.
Yeah, he wanted to be a musician before this
I wish they’d kept in the insistence on being dyslexic bit, and pointing literally out with “Terrible speller.” as proof. Great lil gag.
this is awesome.
You’re hired !
did the eyebrows come with the wardrobe.
Happy Birthday!
brilliant
Piranhas are a very tricky species.
@baglemonkey and his mom is Talia shire (adrian in rocky)
Next to The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Rushmore is the best. Jason is the Eli Wollach and Clint didn't show up.
Notice how when he came back he waxed those catipilars

His eyebrows are trying so hard to touch, like puzzle pieces
Wes, aw. :)

"SHUT UP!"

Disclaimer regarding his eyebrows: he's Jewish. And they get a lot better as he gets older and is in new stuff...
HALF

Yeah but HE didn’t have an acting job before this
