A very delayed discovery of this wonderful track. I like this remix and the one by Unknown Mortal Orchestra even better than the original. Love the minor key, and the fuzzy vocals in the Tame Impala remix.

Kevin can’t write a decent tune these days. Neil Finn has never stopped writing tunes over the last 30 years. Tame Impala overrated - Neil Finn underrated

Sorry but I think Tame Impala are one of the most overrated bands in the last 20 years. Their first album was amazing then they have just got progressively tuneless and overproduced. This is an average remix at best. Why mess with one of the best vocalists around? There are some nice funky moments but it’s a mess really isn’t it? Now get LCD Soundsystem to do a CH remix - that would be interesting or a Gorrilaz collab
I couldn't agree more. Boring remix. Very predictable and really doesn't provide anything that makes it unique or interesting. In this day and age of music, where most anyone has software and sounds available to them, almost anyone could come up with something that's more interesting that Tame Impala's take on "To The Island". Somewhat disappointing to say the least and messier than mixing water with motor oil. Doesn't quite work.
you just sound biased tbh and quite hyperbolic. Fine if you're not a TI fan but good lord, there are so many worse/more overrated bands. I like both artists a lot, and this is about what I'd expect by mashing them together
@@DanFlashes99 I listen to every TI album when they come out and I really did enjoy there first 1-2 albums. So I gave Kevin a fair shot and I do expect him to come with gold again one day. This remix and his last album is not gold. The press completely go overboard for TI and I don’t understand why. Biased? Yes when it comes to Neil Finn - as a consistent songwriter, performer and vocalist he’s up there with the best. Let Kevin come up with a 40 year career like Neil’s and then I’ll reconsider my views. Neil is underrated frankly

TI definitely isn't overrated. Kevin one of the best melody writers/producers in the game right now, hence why so many artists want to work with him.
Since lockdown TI been very computed-based. I'm hoping they go back to more instrumental type music.
