- The Dri-Eaz HEPA 700 air scrubber is the newest restoration industry air filtration machine from Legend Brands. This industrial unit is used for water damage and mold remediation, construction, facility maintenance repair and operations (MRO) on restoration jobs or everyday air purifying. Using the optional activated carbon filter, the HEPA 700 can also be used for fire damage restoration, odor remediation and construction jobs to remove smoke odors and fumes. This is the best unit I've every worked with, and I sent a lot of the cheap units back due to design or workmanship defects. I finally spent the $$ for the Dri Eaz due to my good experiences with their dehumidifier. This is a serious professional unit, with a good seal design. I wish I didn't have to buy the electronics assembly as a complete assembly, though, as on mine, only the AC speed controller board was misbehaving, which led to the ferrite bead getting hot and burning the PCB and a few components around it. I don't attribute this to any design defect, but a problem with a defective relay which I troubleshot, which happens--I don't fault Dri Eaz for this. Having to replace all the boards as an assembly is expensive and unnecessary. Being that the relay failure is not a design or manufacturing issue, I still fully recommend this product.

@@LegendBrands Yes, yours is the unit to buy (or your 500 cfm unit), as you guys do the gasketing right unlike some of the cheap overseas-designed products that are not suitable for much other than filtering dryer lint or pet hair, and certainly not hazardous dust or mold. I'm trying to find another local tradesperson with a 700 so I can take a measurement of the three burnt components surrounding "FB1" on the power board, to complete the repair accurately (I'm an industrial process/electrical engineer by day), so I don't have to guess. Not Dri Eaz' product fault at all--failures of components occur--but I'm used to maintainability at a lower level. My input for your team, as you might guess, is being that the power board takes the greatest beating, to consider cost of repair and make it its own P/N versus having to buy all three electronics boards, which also causes loss of your accrued runtime count as that is stored on the old processor board.
The control panel of this unit is great. I haven't tried the RF network interface over the year or two I've owned the unit.

When you attach ducting to the HEPA 700, it allows you to control the air coming into the unit (if you're ducting in the inlet) or where the filtered output air is going (if you're ducting the outlet). Hi again what is the other white filter besides the hepa that’s in the lid that you snap on?
The white filter in the lid is the very important prefilter - it prevents your HEPA filter from clogging up with larger particles and thus keeps your HEPA filter at its most effective for a longer period.
I bought a unit off of Amazon last night 11/18/2022. It said that it already had 2 jobs on the unit from October 20th 2022.
I can’t connect to wifi at all straight out the box. Just displays a button that says “Retry Connection”. I click the button and nothing happens. I’m assuming because it was already connected to the previous owners wifi.
The device doesn’t pop up at all via Bluetooth on my iPhone or in the command center app. I can’t even register my device via the QR code on the device because it doesn’t pop up in the app.
Lastly, the advanced options has a 4 digit numbered password attached to it. I don’t know what the password is at all. Doesn’t state any password in the manual.
Did I get a used unit? The filters seem new. The cord wasn’t properly wrapped in the paper twist tie that comes with the unit.

We apologize for that oversight and the confusion it caused - and also that your cord wasn't wrapped properly before shipping. Do you keep the black round cover on or do you take it out when running
You definitely need to remove the black round cover - that's where the air flows into the machine.
What app do I download? There are a couple. I downloaded both and there is no place to register the scrubber, nor can I see how to operate this in the app. Help please!

Just received my new HEPA 700. Upon inspection, i noticed white dust on the concave area behind the hepa filter, also on the black gasket and on the plastic portion of the filter itself this white dust is present, is this normal? Thanks
Is it okay to use the machine without the expensive primary filter and instead just a prefilter?
The air scrubber will not provide HEPA filtration without the primary filter, and you could also risk damage to the machine, since it was designed to be operated with the primary HEPA filter and a prefilter installed at all times.
Research shows that Fiberglass filters are more robust and durable. They are also more efficient with a longer life span. Synthetic media pleats fill up faster and stop filtering after several hours. Fiberglass filters continue to remove particles down to .3 micron for up to 900 hours. What about carbon dust from the motor? Looks like it's behind the filter.
Advances in synthetic media technology have produced the best performing and the most durable Primary HEPA Filters. Synthetic medias of today offer better airflow (less pressure drop) than fiberglass media, plus they are less likely to be damaged during transport or installation. That’s why we chose a synthetic primary filter for the HEPA 700. The optional carbon filter is positioned closest to the outlet, then the 1" prefilter, so that the prefilter will collect any dust from the carbon filter. @@LegendBrandsHe didn’t ask about the carbon filter. He asked about the carbon from the motor. So, after you understand the question properly and ask a knowledgeable person in your company I’m curious what you come up with for an answer to this question.
In response to the question about carbon dust from the motor, the HEPA 700 airscrubber doesn't use brushed motors, so there is no carbon material released from the motor during operation. The bearing system in the motor is sealed and other motor components do not wear in a way that would release contaminants into the filtered air stream.
Will this machine eliminate pet odors? One of my tenants moved out had pets and house stinks badly from pet urine
The HEPA 700 with a charcoal filter will help remove some of the odors associated with the off-gassing of ammonia VOCs from the air, but the source of the odors is in the carpets or hard floors and until those are treated properly, the HEPA 700 will not put a stop to the odors being created.
A great product for treating urine deposits in carpets and floors is OdorX Un-duz-it Unleashed.

What is the plastic layflat duct size? 10" ?

What benefits other than cfm and app is better than the 500.
The app is only rated at 2.2 stars so sounds pretty useless.
Hi Calvin - The HEPA 700 is also much quieter than the HEPA 500 and it's DOP compliant with the unit's standard filters, which provides extra assurance of its filtration effectiveness, especially for containment situations, and the digital control panel provides job hours and indication of HEPA filter health (not just an alert when it needs replacing). In addition, filter changes are easier with no tools required. The app that will work with the HEPA 700 will be released in early 2023.
