I can tell Fabi held back and made more moves then was necessary. It could have been much more devastating with the two pawns being pushed like that cause the white bishop was actually trapped but he didn't push them. It was interesting to see how he used them to open him up instead of pushing the pawns and taking pieces.
Must admit that chess top players nowadays are the most chill professionalls I can think off. Where else You can spot in amateur/random/whatever places sportsman that meet with fans and just play some game.
Michael Jordan famously had a 'love of the game' clause in his contract that allowed him to play basketball whenever and wherever he wanted without it impacting his contract. That's a good example of this kind of thing (most athletes have contracts that forbid stuff like that in case of injury).

When he was at his peak there was only one person in the world that would beat him at classical and he held him to 13 draws. Obviously chess players lose the odd game here and there against lower rated players, but you’re speaking as though it’s so common as to be a banality. Which records will show across the board, it’s not.

Great game.. Interestingly during the opening Fabiano willingly gives up a bishop for a knight but later passes on taking knight for a pawn.. Early mid game BM blunders giving up a bishop on a poorly developed board!! Its a weird game from the beginning and it will end quickly I think that Boston Mike's blunder sealed the game, I'm not sure what would of changed the outcome here B Mike there wasn't much strategy here he simply went for cornering you on a weak board maybe bringing in a rook might of helped.. I think

Very cool! I wonder how they get so many great players? They might be paid appearances, doesn't matter I guess. They certainly made a nice niche for themselves as a chess youtube channel. When I first saw their channel, some years ago, it seemed a bit strange to see these (relatively) lower level chess players sorta acting like they were great players, but it's entertaining. And you gotta hand it to them, they are willing to play anyone, and do it with style, even when being very much outmatched. Watched a lot of their videos, so they must be doing something right :) Heck, they are kinda famous now, to people who watch chess online.

He allowed Fabi to go for a Dutch setup with f5-f4, Qe8-Qh5 etc. Sure, we'd all lose handily against someone like Fabi, but I think two things Mike could have done better was not to entomb his bishop on d2 and also to have played both e3 and g3 and therefore prevent that deadly f5-f4 pawn push. Great game, though.
that's just the nature of the reverse rossolimo. if white isn't accurate straight away, black's just better. Fabi actually beat Korobov in this line spectacularly in an important event recently

This is a very solid and reliable line as black to counter English 1.c4 2.Nc3, even Anand used Bb4 for along time as black.

Technically it's not the Grand Prix move order, but it has all the hallmarks of Grand Prix attacking plan (trade bishop for knight to discoordinate White's queenside, execute f7-f5-f4, play Qe8 to use the diagonal to infiltrate the g or h file.)
