My experience (from way back when I was in business) is that it's wise to budget about 10%+/- of the purchase price for repairs,maintenance. Of course I only learned that about a decade AFTER starting my business. When I retired I was a lot smarter but too tired to start over.
What a junkyard! The big auction yard in WA state fixes everything up, making repairs, services, welds, oils, battery, paints and makes ready for immediate work. These things look like restoration projects or metal recycle ready.
I've used one of those CASE W11 loaders a lot with a 5 yrd bucket to load mulch. There ok but we bought a old CASE 921 that spent it's life in a power plant so it was surfaced rust all over. She was a beast and fun to run. Huge to operate in a football size field area.
I really love these videos, and I know you do them only for fun, but if you do more please bring some sort of wind protection for the mic. It would make a world of difference.
fresh paint is a sure sign of a bad machine.. scratches mean its good to go! Put a 12 ft snow scraper on that old case and you'll be a snow pushin fool!

A friend was telling me they used to shove a tin of dish scouring powder straight in an open air intake on the old D9's back in the uk to de glaze the bores with the throttle wide open. So running it with no filter just cuts out the downtime making it self servicing. I was not doing to bad watching this video, but lost it on the " ether Bunny" comment.
